How is Obama's plan to lower the deficit going? -

Yeah, and I heard a bunch of crap about reducing the deficit when he's had 4 years to do something about it and its only increased by ridiculous amounts. How am I supposed to believe any plan he may be offering when he hasn't come close to what he said he would? -
Ty WebbYou all may want to stop your circle-jerk....
After the "anger" of the President's performance wore off....People on CNN,FoxNews,MSNBC,and pretty much everyone else are ripping Romney apart for no providing any details for ANY of his plans. I even heard GVS say that after the "high" wears off for Romney people will look at what he said and see that he didn't forth anything new and the race won't change much -
friendfromlowryI'm not sure which is more ridiculous, Gibby's love for Obama or ccrunner's love for Romney.

1. Romney's tax plan...A. with the rate cuts he's supported for over a year and B. No net tax raise on the middle class will explode the deficit. You must accept this. It is the same result of the Bush tax cuts which had no base broadening and they exploded the deficit.gut;1286784 wrote:Explodes the deficit? Another lie passed off as fact. Obama spending 25% more than the Romney/Ryan plan will explode the deficit. Obama is a PROVEN deficit exploder.
So what if he walks back his 20%? You're acting like a 15-17% rate is a material difference. At least now you acknowledge that "raising taxes on the middle class" is neither fact nor foregone conclusion. But I'm surprised you're not attacking Obama's budget because it's inherently obvious the middle class tax payer is more likely to take a hit in that scenario.
2. Obama's budget plan foresees large budget deficits in the short to medium term but they are more efficiently allocated than Romney's as they are better for aggregate demand and growth.
3. If he walks back his rate cuts he's going to have to do it substantially. Still will likely have to increase taxes on the middle class if they're to be revenue neutral. No big deal really other than except perhaps to some of his hard core supporters who perhaps got behind him on his tax cut proposal.
4. Obama's budget does not inherently cause the middle class taxpayer to take a hit.
Obama got beat but it's hard to beat an opponent who will mendaciously lie and obfuscate. That is what Romney did. Perhaps BHO's mind was on that S&M dog cage Ole Michelle surely threw him in to celebrate their anniversary eh? -
Manhattan BuckeyeRomney was ok, not great. A 6 out of 10.
Obama was a 2 and is clearly uncomfortable trying to defend his record. He apparently peaked between October - December '08 when he had the adulation of the country and not the responsibility of being the chief executive. His inexperience and frustration showed. His body language was awful and he seemed perturbed and off the entire debate.
As for the domestic policies, Romney hit the right chord if he did it ineloquently. We can reduce taxes and still raise revenue if we get more Americans work so they can pay taxes - and that does not mean fake Keynensian government jobs that result in paying "X" amount to workers to get back a factor less than "X". -
ZWICK 4 PREZRomney: This guy sucks and I'm going to be great and make everything better
Jim Lehrer: Care to expand on how you are going to make it better?
Romney: Yes... by .. I'm going to make it better!

Ok since I know you're more than smart enough to know the president has absolutely no control over the private industry hiring people .. what's going to happen to the deficit if there isn't substantial job growth under Mitt with all the tax reduction?Manhattan Buckeye;1286896 wrote: As for the domestic policies, Romney hit the right chord if he did it ineloquently. dwccrewThe American voting public isn't smart enough, and also lacks the attention-span, to listen to these two canidates go in-depth about the details of their plans. This is why both canidates speak in talking points and general terms.
This debate, nor will the next two debates, change anyone's mind. It may sway a few independents, but I doubt many polls will shift significantly in the next few weeks. Mittens may get a little bump, but he really needs to close the gap in the swing states if he wants to win this thing. -

Not an accurate statement, or at least an overly simplistic one. One of the primary truths of economics is that people, including those who run companies, respond to incentives.ZWICK 4 PREZ;1286911 wrote:Ok since I know you're more than smart enough to know the president has absolutely no control over the private industry hiring people .. -

Sure.. like people buying stuff from them. Cutting their taxes has never proved an incentive for them to hire.queencitybuckeye;1286918 wrote:Not an accurate statement, or at least an overly simplistic one. It does when certain taxes or other burdens kick in when you have more than "X" employees. QCB is 100% correct on this. Look at California's new potential "pension" law that could potentially include a penalty for employers of more than 5 employees if they don't offer a pension. If you are a business owner in California what are the odds you do everything possible not to hire more than 4 people? Pretty great odds, you'll hire contract people or 1099 workers, and how does that help anyone?ZWICK 4 PREZ;1286922 wrote:Sure.. like people buying stuff from them. The DEMS are fiscal incompetents. -

Again..
How can Mittens guarantee he's going to create enough jobs to offset these tax cuts? -
Manhattan BuckeyeDodge what question? Was there a question involved? I was explaining how government can condition business's reluctance to hire, and even provided an example (albeit not a federal law, and quite possibly a law that might not ever be effective). Did you have a question? I don't read minds and I don't understand arguments that are put in my mouth.

z4p you do know that you can write a check to the government directly to pay more if you really feel that what you should do. You have a double income so write the check and give more. Obama has asking you to do that bro. Skip the Mustang payment an send in that check to the government come on Obama asking. However you may rethink before writing that check and look at the pay stub Obama care has just made your health insurance go up $100.00. That’s OK with you right because your money going to pay for someone else addiction, obesity, third kid with no father, criminals, rent, food, utilities and housing and cell phone and a never ending entitlement failure programs.ZWICK 4 PREZ;1286921 wrote:No Obama said here's what we're going to do and we're asking rich people to pay for it.

I will keep what I have earned because I worked for it and get lawn service (job creation), pool service (job creation), eat out (job creation) and get a new set of golf clubs (job creation) better me stimulating the economy than the government wasting it on someone who doesn't want a job.
Do you understand that the average cost of federal entitlement to individual is $28,000 per year. Your first job out of college was not that much and the system wants more of what you earn .. and will continue wanting more
I'm sorry I'm going to stop at the donut shop (job creation) and get my standard coffee and two chocolate, chocolate..
