gut"Trickle down govt"...point, Romney
-
sleeperAll important issues aside, I hate Romney's face.
-
sleeperRomney is doing well though.
-
gutI don't know if it's the camera angle or what, but it looks unnatural the way he stares directly at you.
-
gutSitting there with that smug smile while Obama lies his ass off won't score Romney any points, either.
-
Terry_TateI'm already sick of them talking about taxes, just keep saying the same things.
-
gutMan, Romney nailed it though with "I've got 5 boys...I'm used to people repeating the same lie over and over hoping I'll believe it"
-
sleeperObama has been laughable so far. Just keeps hammering all these useless talking points.
-
gutRomney should counter the "middle class tax breaks" with how that's more than offset by a decline in wages.
-
sleeperI don't like when candidates badger the moderator. Romney has been pretty annoying in regards to this.
-
sleeperRomney is doing really well and Obama knows it.
-
gutThis is a bloodbath....Everything Romney is saying, by the way, is spot on. But words =/= action
-
sleeperI think its pretty apparent Romney actually did his homework and Obama continuously spews talking point after talking point.
-
jhay78Romney is performing well, although I would like to see him speak to the audience (both in person and on TV) about the president instead of speaking to him so much. I'm sure he'll get there though.
-
sleeperObama is talking about all these things that aren't right in this country. Does he not remember that he is President and actually has been in the position to do something the past 4 years?
-
sleeper
I've noticed that too.jhay78;1286637 wrote:Romney is performing well, although I would like to see him speak to the audience (both in person and on TV) about the president instead of speaking to him so much. I'm sure he'll get there though. -
ptown_trojans_1I kind of like this format, with the enlonged conversation, but Jim Lehrer needs to throw down the law. They are really taking over the rules and driving the debate. Questions and Answers are still vague.
No mention of the January 2 fiscal cliff.
But, from a strictly middle of the road view, Romney has fared better. -
gut
Obama doesn't understand economics and fiscal policy. He's incapable of performing well on the fly, that's why he just keeps hammering the same talking points even after Romney has smashed them.sleeper;1286635 wrote:I think its pretty apparent Romney actually did his homework and Obama continuously spews talking point after talking point.
Could see a reversal in subsequent debates on foreign policy. -

jhay78Yikes.
Now I know why this week every DNC and liberal media talking head sprinted to every nearby microphone to downplay expectations for Obama in the debate. -
ptown_trojans_1
Given Romney's Op-ed's and his speeches, looking objectively, the President still should hold court.ccrunner609;1286651 wrote:OMG, you have to be kidding me?
Romney's Op-ed on the Middle East last week was a joke.
But, Romney is definitely looking better tonight.
The President is too vague. -

There aren't a lot of facts and science behind it. It's where Obama can really shine with his bs and talking points. And it's a case where Obama can arguably draw some positive contrasts with the prior administration. He'll spin Romney's positions that differ into parallels with Bush, and then talk about those failures.ccrunner609;1286651 wrote:OMG, you have to be kidding me? -
bases_loadedDid Obama declare Social Security structurally sound?
-
ptown_trojans_1
They both did for seniors.bases_loaded;1286656 wrote:Did Obama declare Social Security structurally sound?
SS is not the problem. It is Medicare. That is the killer. We are getting fatter and older. -
gut
At this point. He said it needs tweaking. I think that's fairly accurate. Currently it's not a major driver of the deficit, if at all. Medicare is the big problem.bases_loaded;1286656 wrote:Did Obama declare Social Security structurally sound?
