Has Rush gone too far?

Rush is on between 11 AM and 2 PM here in the Clarksville/Nashville area. I'm working my arss off in that time period so I rarely, if ever, have an opportunity to tune in. But when I do I agree with him 99% of the time.

I can see how Limbaugh annoys the lefties....he tells it like it is without the mamby pamby political correctness guys like IWP and stlouiedipalma have come to expect from their pals in the MSM.

Are you telling me you're a closet liberal? Because I've been known to watch O'Reilly and Hannity, although I cannot do Sean for more than 5 minutes without wanting to destroy my big-screen HDTV.
No, I'm definitely not a closet liberal. I just get intrigued as to what kind of crap Maddow will spit out once in a while. Trust me it's very rare that I do and when I do it's for like 3 minutes because I'm like you with Hannity. I want to throw my tv through the wall.

This for me also except Rush starts at noon here.

Limbaugh is disengenious . He is only appologising because sponsers have run for cover . Rush is an oversized wind bag who cant keep his own affairs in order . He will do anything to destroy any credibility with this president and 99% of democrats . He is not good for this country as he intends to divide and conquer

As a moderate Republican with a conservative tilt, I have found Rush to be somewhat of an embarrassment to conservatives in that his style and abrasiveness doesn't win anybody to what is a noble cause. He is almost always right in what he says, but often wrong in the way he presents it. Mostly, he his preaching to the choir...but he is unlikely to win any converts.

I can't watch MSNBC for more than a minute without feeling bile rise up in my throat. I find it nauseatingly elitist and an insult to my intelligence. They don't even try to present the opposing view which is shoddy journalism for a news network.. It is probably what they feel like when listening to Rush.

Funniest thing is this thread has made it pretty clear that Rush makes A LOT of money off of liberals.

Which proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that Rush is smarter than liberals. :D

Maher Insults Southern Voters with 'Toothless Tuesday'...

And the media was ......................... silent

    C'mon, now....That IS pretty funny.

Everybody wants to bust Maher's balls because of the things he has been known to say. I believe that if you are outraged by his behavior you need to boycott his sponsors.

Oh wait, he doesn't have any sponsors. You have to pay to see his show, unlike Rush, who is broadcast over free airwaves (presumably so that those gap-toothed Southerners won't have to give up their chew in order to pay for the right to hear their idol).

A lot of folks here are privvy to what Maher says every week. That tells me that they are either getting their information from a third party (the abridged version), or they secretly pay for the broadcast. I'm guessing that no card-carrying teabagger worth his/her salt would admit to paying for HBO, though.

WTF kind of stupidity is this?!?

I have HBO, but Maher isn't on here - his show is banned due to his profanity.

LULZ at him ever calling himself a Libertarian. He's an unfunny and douchey mega-statist (I'm not calling so called liberals "liberal" any more. They are statists. There's nothing liberal about them, they think the state should control everything despite its consistent incompetence).

Even though you don't watch him, I'm sure that Bill appreciates your contribution toward paying his salary (which enabled him to donate a million bucks to Obama's Super PAC).

On the flip side, I'm sure that some of my investments are with companies that contribute to folks like Gingrich, Santorum and Romney.

    There's no escape, lol.

I don't think so, the HBO here is completely different, if Maher isn't shown he isn't getting anything from it. Even Game of Thrones is delayed for three months (which sucks) and edited (for the nudity). We're just now getting the first season of Boardwalk Empire. This season of "The Office" is now in its fifth episode - which is probably the last one I'll watch. Oh, and DVR doesn't exist for ridiculous copyright reasons, so we can't "tape" a show, but they are repeated often during the week of release.

Where in the world do you live?
  • Manhattan Buckeye
Singapore. HBO is usually 3-6 months behind. Network TV, if they show it, is also around 6 months at the earliest, but can be years - it depends on the contract with the production company. No commercials (censorship), no dvr (copyright). A premium channel is getting American sports live. Which for the west coast isn't too bad, and for Sunday/Monday night football its pretty cool watching games running on a treadmill in the morning.

For the NCAA tournament it is really going to stink, I might be able to stay up for the noon games and catch the 8:00 p.m. (eastern time) late night games. But I'll miss most of it.

I've been to Europe, India, and China, and catching sporting events in China was by far the most difficult.

When I was in Italy I remember staying away some Saturday nights late to watch OSU games on "ESPN America" (name of the station). Nothing like watching OSU at 4 am.

So you are basing your opinion on people saying offensive things on whether they have sponsors or not? Good to know your moral barometer is driven by money.
btw- I do not pay for HBO either it's part of my Basic Cable package. Now cue you telling me how I am indirectly supporting Maher's Show.

That's because they are always running re-runs of Mao and Maher.

Although I disagree with Maher politically, his show is more entertaining than Limbaughs.

I'd probably agree with this. It's kind of a shame, before he turned into Mr. Angry, he used to be one of the funniest guys in the business.

No, I'm simply pointing out that there are major differences between their programs. Just about anyone with an AM radio can pick up Rush. Viewing Maher requires you to pay for the service. Anyone who expresses "outrage" toward Maher is justified if they pay to get the service. Those who don't pay are probably either reading about Maher or are following someone elses cue.

As for moral barometers being driven by money, well, money talks and bullshit walks.

Look at what started this. A couple radio hosts called Whitney Houston a crack ho. Last I checked while in bad taste crack ho is not racist. A white woman can, and at times is, a crack ho.
