Has Rush gone too far?

Birth control is accessible to all. Just because you have to pay for it does not mean it is not accessible. What would you call advocating government forceing others to pay for these things?I Wear Pants;1109536 wrote:So everyone that believes that birth control being free and accessible provides substantial and quantifiable benefits for the country is a slut or prostitute?
Way to be grown up about a debate. -

You know what's funny? Through all the Rushtic on this thread, I agree that women should pay for their own contraception...and I stated so way back up top. I don't think insurance companies should pay for vasectomies nor hysterectomies either...unless there is an underlying health issue involved.majorspark;1109577 wrote:Birth control is accessible to all. If people have sex for recreation...and probably 99% of us do, then they should treat it for what it is...and that is recreation...not health.
And I think that the reason that Limbaugh never had kids....none of his 4 wives could ever find his member. -

Where have I ever indicated that bothers me? Besides, the 20M listeners comment comes from Rush, right? So do we believe Rush then and not now when he says two sponsors asked to leave but changed their mind (he has no idea what happens at syndicate stations with their local sponsors - that doesn't affect him directly)?I Wear Pants;1109519 wrote: If you truly didn't care and you wouldn't be so bothered by him losing his sponsors.
And you hear people say things they likely heard on his show? How would you know unless you listen to him regularly? Like I said earlier, I think his detractors must make-up the lionshare of his listeners. The fat man knows where his bread is buttered, apparently.
Seems like every 6 months someone is demanding Rush be kicked-off the air or calling to boycott sponsors. Rush looks like he's still eating pretty well. LMAO, if Rush were an internet troll he'd be legendary. How stupid do these people have to be to fall for it again and again every winter and summer?
I think Rush is entitled to free speech. And if what he says bothers these idiots so much then they should stop listening to him. -

And I would call it counter to everything the Constitution stands for. Just because something is beneficial doesn't mean that the federal government should be involved.I Wear Pants;1109634 wrote:I would call it "there are substantial and quantifiable benefits for the country if more people use contraceptives".
There are substantial and quantifiable benefits if people put down their fork and work out 2 hours a day, but the government shouldn't mandate that behavior. If the liberals want the government out of their bedroom, the government's wallet should not involve the bedroom.
What is the Constitutional basis for this? -

There were only 9 paid ads on his show today and 7 were from companies that have said they have told their people to no longer advertise on his show.gut;1109641 wrote:Where have I ever indicated that bothers me? Fine, don't do it at the federal level but there's still a disgusting trend among conservatives to think that contraception is a bad thing. That's just straight up unintelligence seeping out.Manhattan Buckeye;1109656 wrote:And I would call it counter to everything the Constitution stands for. As for things like that, if you get upset at this I assume you also get upset that there are military recruiters in every high school across the country. -
Manhattan Buckeye"but there's still a disgusting trend among conservatives to think that contraception is a bad thing. That's just straight up unintelligence seeping out. "
Based on what?
Jon Stewart?
Bill Maher?
The Obama adminstration?
The mainstream media?
My wife has been on the pill since she was a Senior in high school, and her mother is the staunchest conservative you'll ever see, she grew up in an era where women shouldn't be allowed to vote and certain folks weren't welcome on the golf course (to quote Futurama). - if I would pick a GOP candidate she would endorse it would be Gingrich. Yet still, she made sure my wife and her other daughter were prescribed birth control, for multiple reasons.
This is the most Republican woman you'll ever see on the planet, and she's for birth control, and will pay for it. Where is the outrage you see against it? If there is an outrage it surely is ineffective as birth control is available everywhere. There are Trojans at Kroger, Lifestyles at Rite-Aid, the pill at Wal-mart, etc., etc.
If people were that offended by birth control wouldn't they be protesting in the streets?
Answer: They aren't, because the Maher's, Stewart's and other d-bags are lying to people and they soak it up. Brith control is a non-issue. The issue is government involvement, and being a ridiculously incompetent executive our POTUS put his daughters in the debate. -

Sure they do, never said they didn't. Although I'm sure they could be doing something more useful for society. It's driven by an insatiable need to feel self-righteous which, oddly enough, is one of the reasons they despise the far right so much.I Wear Pants;1109669 wrote:There were only 9 paid ads on his show today and 7 were from companies that have said they have told their people to no longer advertise on his show.

I think people are stupid for getting all worked up over abortion and gay marriage, too. But I don't bother to start threads about it. I don't condemn either side for having their opinion. I generally don't begrudge people their stupid opinions.
I'm not quite sure which is more pathetic: a person that supposedly counted up the number of ads on his show today (meaning they have listened to Rush more today alone than I have in my entire life), or that it was apparently something important enough to you to follow and know. And that would be my opinion on the subject. -

Soooooooo.....you listened to all 3 hours of Rush today and counted the ads? Or did someone in your leftist MSM do that for you? :rolleyes:I Wear Pants;1109669 wrote:There were only 9 paid ads on his show today and 7 were from companies that have said they have told their people to no longer advertise on his show.

I agree, Walter Williams is great . . . especially when he fills in for Rush.Footwedge;1109240 wrote:There are plenty of outstanding conservatives that cite facts when presenting their principles. Start by reading the opinions of George Will, or Walter Williams, Pat Buchanan or many others...who actually walk the walk as how conservatives should live their lives...as opposed to galavanting through 4 wives....or dodging mandated military sevice as thought necessary decades ago.
That sounds like "get the government out of people's bedrooms except when we want free contraceptives".I Wear Pants;1109634 wrote:I would call it "there are substantial and quantifiable benefits for the country if more people use contraceptives". -
gutI mean, what's next? Are we going to start covering aspirin because students are unable to function with a hangover after a night of drinking?

Wow, are you out to lunch!
Let's leave it at this: Rush's Gulfstream is still taking on jet fuel today ....... and it will be next month, as well as next year. -

You mean like the number of unwed mothers on the welfare roles and children born out of wedlock steadily increasing and mirroring the use of contraceptive drugs?I would call it "there are substantial and quantifiable benefits for the country if more people use contraceptives".

stlouiedipalmaAnd after all of this discussion, about the only definitive truth we can glean is that there are a hell of a lot more Dittoheads on this site than we originally thought. Of course, they won't admit it, but just take a good look at their posts. They are either extremely apologetic toward Rush or they spout as much crap as Rush does. Further evidence as to the influence this drug addict has on the minds of conservatives everywhere.

The only certain evidence I'm seeing on Rush's influence on anyone's minds is the way you lefties froth at the mouth every time your bed buddies in the liberal media decide to tell you it's time for more Rush Hate.stlouiedipalma;1110960 wrote:And after all of this discussion, about the only definitive truth we can glean is that there are a hell of a lot more Dittoheads on this site than we originally thought. believerGloria Allred thinks Rush should be jailed:
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0312/73829.html
So I'm trying to understand the logic here. So Allred thinks Rush should be jailed for exercising his right to free speech because Saundra Fluke was simply exercising her right to free speech?Mr. Limbaugh targeted his attack on a young law student who was simply exercised her free speech and her right to testify before congress on a very important issue to millions of American women and he vilified her...
Unbelievable BS to exponential magnitude. -

stlouiedipalmaNow I don't want you to explode when you read this, but I probably listen to Rush more than most liberals. He comes on at 11am on KMOX here in St. Louis and when I am in my car I tune in to see what drug-addled lies he is telling about the state of the nation. The day he called that woman a slut and a prostitute I nearly wrecked my car.

Are you telling me you're a closet liberal? Because I've been known to watch O'Reilly and Hannity, although I cannot do Sean for more than 5 minutes without wanting to destroy my big-screen HDTV.
