Are u always such an ass? They went all about this the wrong way....
My state agency already pays what sb5 asked for!
They need to get everyone on the same playing field but not destroying collective bargaining. They went for the entire kit and kaboodle and not how they should of went about it. They rushed the whole bill instead of working with all the parties and getting things done.
Working would have got results and not throwing rushed and bullying legislation that didn't work down our throat.
Things need to change but not the way they tried...

Destroying collective bargaining? Don't believe so. They removed portions to even the playing field. I just don't understand how people believed that repealing SB5 would save jobs. The state was struggling to pay state nurses as it was, this certainly doesn't help. Firehouses are closing all over the state, anyone really think they'll reopen now? It's simple economics, and too many people voted based on their personal position as opposed to what was best for the state as a whole. -

I believe some people who voted yes on issue 2 voted down their local levies because polls were indicating issue 2 would fail. I am speaking anecdotally so take it for what it is. I voted yes on Issue 2 and yes on local tax levies. -

SB5 was a joke. I agree, some things need changed, but not that drastically. -

I am much more willing to give my tax dollars to local government. My money is directly poured back into my community. As I said this is anecdotal. But I got the impression that certain people angered that issue 2 was going to go down in the polls lashed out and voted against local levies to "stick it to them". I did not take that route. -

God forbid Union employees get paid based on justified merit. All issue #2 does is protect mediocrity. -

Issue 2 goes down like the flames in hell that created it.
The first real failure of the Kasich regime. The R's in Ohio made a tacticle error by grouping the firefighters and police in with the teachers.
Still overall, I would give the governor a B in his efforts. The whole issue 2 thing diverted attention away from his other agendas including the budget. It appears that notice was served to the current Kasick Kammandos. -

4 BILLION dollars are being cut from the education budget for the next few years! This wasnt about the money, Kasich was able to cut that without this bill. I pay for my insurance and retirement, our district just voted a pay freeze and we will do what is necessary to keep as many people here employed as possible while still maintaining a solid living wage! -

If it was, then SB 5 would have just set amounts that must be payed toward healthcare and pensions (which btw, most state employees already pay the 10% and 15% SB 5 mandated.) This was about the controlling political party limiting the power of groups that oppose it.

I would expect to see a record number of school & safety levies over the next couple elections. People can't, w/ clear conscious, vote down a levy after repealing SB5. Now is the time to get those levies out there, and I for one, will not vote for them.
