I often wonder how politicians would even want a second term considering everything that they are put through. The benefits in the moment can't be all that attractive. Your life is one split second from being taken away from you every moment of every day, even with SS. Your family life must be about as disfunctional as any tv show x10. The list goes on and on. Ughh!
I would much rather see a President look around and realize that this country has gotten all it's going to get from him/her and say "enough", than to see a President foster mold and grow roots.

Have you ever noticed how much president age, physically, during their time in office? It's very telling of how difficult the job is, regardless of party.

They all look so ... tired.

No doubt Obama will follow a smiliar trend.

Nah, he really does look like a monkey ... a very, very tired monkey.

And to think these guys spend millions of dollars and many sleepless nights trying to get a job that does that to them.

True but the drive to be the leader of the greatest nation the world has ever known will do that to you. :D

People, young and old, feel that Reagan had an optimistic understanding of what this nation could achieve and a deeply felt gratitude for so much of what we had done before.
Forbes is right....and this is exactly why I get tired of hearing some Gen X and Y-ers boo hoo about how terrible things are.

Don't get me wrong, Reagan was a great President, but I feel he gets the Bill Brasky Treatment.

As the son and grandson of some VERY extreme Republicans, I tend to agree. Fantastic president, no doubt. Second-coming of King Arthur? Eh ...

Hopefully they're with him pushing up daisies. If you think Obama is raising the hell out of the deficit, a second coming of Ronnie would kill us all with his brand of massive spending.

Thank God I was out of the country these past two weeks and didn't have to listen to the crap about his 100th birthday.

    Yeah....Compared to Reagan, Obama's a financial genius.

    The revisionists keep showing up.

The only fact that really matters right now is:

Obama has racked up more debt in 21 months than all the presidents combined -- Washington THRU Reagan!!!!

    Read it and weep.
  • ptown_trojans_1
Well of course they are not ready, they do not have a candidate yet.
If it was January of 2012, that would be news. Now, it doesn't matter.

How can they be ready when no one has declared they are going to run?
  • Ty Webb
He means NO ONE even being mentioned to be running is ready

Well of course not. It is 2011 still. There have been no primaries, no debates, etc.
No candidate is ready to be President or take on the Presidency nearly two years out.
Again, if this was in 2012, it would be news. Now, it is nothing.

I can't help but laugh...the dude turns himself inside out to try an spin himself as a "centrist," and then turns around and says something stupid like this. Makes me glad I didn't waste the money going to Harvard.

Agreed. What's even more astonishing is that there are STILL people who think he is "centrist". lololol

I mean, I can't even begin to explain why the idea that workers wages go up as profits go up and economic growth increases is not a socialist/marxist idea. I mean, I'm not even sure it's possible to have a reasonable conversation with some of you cats. What about all of the pro-capitalist rhetoric he's been spewing since the State of the Union...is he just full of shit, lying, a walking machine of deception??
