Maybe just maybe the leftist media is beginning to wake-up from its BHO hangover. NAW....

The same Justice Department that blatantly threw out a slam dunk case of voter fraud against Black Panthers in Philadelphia (in which whites were intimidated) is now crying racism in a law passed by Arizona to protect its own borders.

Does anyone else see the irony here.

Mr. Holder needs to be fired immediately.

Yes indeed...Change we can believe in.

I've been busy, so haven't been able to respond. But, I completely disagree with the DOJ on this one. Arguing that only the Feds can pass immigration laws is insanely stupid. Immigration is not national security (it is sort of, but not in this context). If the feds can't and won't do anything, states should be within their powers to pass laws that fill in the holes the feds won't. No one is getting deported in Arizona, only arrested and detained.

It also can establish a precedent, that whenever the feds don't like a state law on something they can't do, the feds can still squash it. Not a fan of that as that has wide implications.
They should have argued it on the discrimination base, because that is more narrow, and I think makes a more compelling case.

Also, note, the more I thought about the Arizona law and the complete incompetence of both parties to tackle the issue, the more I supported the Arizona law. I now support the law until something better arrives.

Perhaps but the Arizona law is fairly specific about profiling. There's a fine line here. If Mexicans cross the border illegally then they are breaking both state and Federal law. If Arizona cops have reasonable suspicion then naturally that person is - oh I dunno - going to look very Hispanic. Chances are the Arizona cop is also Hispanic.

Bottom-line: If the Feds aren't willing to put teeth into their own illegal immigration laws due to politics then why stand in the way of the states to conduct proactive law enforcement?

He should have been fired a year ago. It's almost like Bam has no interest in getting re-elected at all.

    He doesn't? ;)

This is no hidden discrimination in the Arizona law as it is written. Authorities CAN NOT pull over someone they supsect of being an illegal unless said person has broken the law. Only after the perp has committed a law breaking offense can the authorities then look into his/her status if they feel it is needed.

Did anyone see the question that was asked of the fabulous Robert Gibbs at the White House press conference the other day? He was asked why Chicago, L.A. and a few other cities are not being sued by the DOJ for their role in NOT enforcing immigration laws. These cities have basically declared themselves to be "amnesty cities" as they refuse to help enforce immigration laws or turn over any suspected illegals to the Feds. If the Feds can sue Arizona for enforcing the law, then why on earth don't they sue these cities for NOT enforcing the law. This is hypocrisy at its best. I would think this would show even the most loyal Obama supporters what utter bullshit philoshopy this administration is based on. By the way, Mr Gibbs did not have an answer to this question and told the reporter he would have to "get back to her" on that one. This guy (Obama) is the most incompetent, clueless, and classless individual that has ever held the office of President of the United States.

Rut ro....the Bush Bashers are about to pounce. BHO is at least as equally clueless as Jimmy Carter and almost as classless as Bill Clinton. But he is at least a competent Community Organizer (whatever that is).

I don't remember Carter, but I have heard enough stories from my dad to know how bad he was. Bush #1 was a good guy, but got some very poor advice I think. Clinton was well Bill Clinton, but at least he was smart enough to let a Republican Congress put some good policies in place. Bush #2 was far from a good President in my opinion, but BHO could still not make a pimple on his ass. I feel fortunate that during most of my childhood we actually had a great President in office from 1980-1988. Are we ever going to be fortunate enough to have another one like that? Or is he a once in lifetime President? I hope not, because the Republican Party and the country could sure use someone like him now.

Exactly ....... they are 'sanctuary cities' and of course he is not going to go after them.

You sure Polk wasn't a Kenyan? I heard he wouldn't produce a copy of his original birth certificate.................................................

You still won't drop the BS "not a citizen" thing?

Also, if you consider starting wars because you think god gave the United States the right to expand is acting like an American then we've got serious discrepancies of what it means to be an American.

Some interesting parallels I just noticed: "The war had serious consequences for Polk and the Democrats. It gave the Whig Party a unifying message of denouncing the war as an immoral act of aggression carried out through abuse of power by the President (even though they did vote for the funding of it). In 1848, the House of Representatives voted to censure Polk for starting the war."

    http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/07/11/holder-floats-possibility-racial-profiling-suit-arizona/

Despite the fact that the Arizona law puts teeth into Federal law the Feds refuse to uphold and the fact that the Arizona law specifically prohibits profiling, Holder still thinks he might file a profiling suit against Arizona. WTF?

When historians look back at the short-lived BHO Era and try to determine why the Anointed One was a one and done POTUS, they need only look at these types of decisions made by this administration for that "aw ha" moment.

If Holder follows through he's an even bigger douche bag than I thought.

Well, for sure the courts will settle who is right & who is wrong on the Arizona law. Yet I have a feeling that the Right won't be happy if they lose and we'll hear more garbage coming out about bad govt even after govt WINS in court. Think they'll be patriotic , salute and move on quitely supporting the govt ?? :p
