-
iGranby138.
1.Forrider
2.McDougle
3.Ryan
4.Miller
5.Alexander
6.Lancia
Bracketing here deprives us of an amazing final, but, gives an amazing semi, and some interesting wrestle-backs.
145
1.Boyd
2.Fosco
3.Luft
4.Driscoll
5.Tate
6.Sunkle
I think Boyd beats Luft again in the Semi, Fosco v Boyd in the final, could go either way with the way they've been wrestling, Tullius is certainly in the mix should he wrestle. -
Dirtyscrambledidnt sunkle just beat Fosco??? 7-3 i believe! so ill atleast take him over Tate...

MTV27nice to see Riley finally getting some love!

double arm barsSunkle looked good and you will need to scrap 6 tough minutes.

I think that kid wins state!MTV27;1090437 wrote:nice to see Riley finally getting some love! -
cruiser_96Re: Riley
Is it wrong for me to want to see him get out scored in his first match?????
Is that wrong? -
USMCdevil2005

Match #4... Get some!!!!!!! -
USMCdevil2005I think the Rooney kid wins it all. I think he squeaks by Penzone in the semis and then destroys Straughter in the finals.
-
USMCdevil2005Riley is wrestling tough. Maybe Rahmani just had a off day too though. The semis at 106 are going to be awesome!! Nace VS. Riley and Rahmani VS. Gutierrez!
-
iGranbyIve been telling everyone who will listen to me, since the Oregon Clay tourney that Riley has a legit shot at winning the state. I think his biggest chance at a loss at the district is in the first round against the Groveport kid, after that he wont be sucked out from weight cut and he'll be in top form.
-
mellaHasn't Rahmani been nursing an injured shoulder. I've seen him wrestle a couple of times this year and it has appeared that when there was a break in the action or at the end of a match he really favored his shoulder. Maybe the injury has caught up with him or Riley just wrestled well and he'll have a very good post-season. Either way good luck to everyone next week.

im sorry, i think with the size difference Riley Pins him in the first period, hes a man amongst boy, except Payton he looks about 30USMCdevil2005;1090511 wrote:Riley is wrestling tough. cruiser_96It's that time of year again! And oh, how I do love it.
And just to set the record straight, for any and all wrestlers who are not mentioned below, please, feel free to prove me wrong! Print these off, fold it up real small, then, after you beat a guy on my list to make the semi's, pull it out, hunt me down and tell me to stick them where the sun don't shine!
For Central District D-I @ Darby... (Initial thoughts based on nothing more than gut instinct from looking at the brackets):
106T: Nace (TV) v. Laney (GM)/Riley (MV) winner
106B: This bottom half is KILLER!!!!!!!! Wimer (CC)/Ramahni (M) quarterfinal will be HUGE!!! The loser will cross-bracket and have to face the top semi loser and the winner will have to take on the DiSabato (WN)/Gutierrez (PN) winner. Gute's a gamer and DiSabato is certainly no slouch. This is why I've dubbed it, "Friday Night Fireworks".
113T: I like Davis (HDav) v. Orr (PN)/Valenti (HD) winner. Again, Friday Night Fireworks.
113B: Spearman (Lancaster). Period. I'm on record as saying anything less than 5th at the Schott is a bad day for this kid. I might revamp to 3rd.
120T: Rooney (SC) v. Penzone (OL)
120B: The bottom is wide open and subject to the goddess of the wind, Venus' alignment with Mercury as well as weight management from a high school kid. A case can be made for any of the kids so, hey, throw a dart.
126T: NOTE: Wilson (HDav) will end up on line 4. From everything I've read, he defaulted. They were pretty reliable sources, so if they are wrong, count me surprised. Fiorucci (O) is the other seminalist.
126B: McCurdy (DH) v. Murdock (DC)
132T: Nace (TV) v. Strope (L) in a battle of the ages!
132B: D. McDougle (GL) v. Yarger (PC) - I could be wrong with Yarger over Schulze (DC), and that's why we wrestle the matches.
138T: Ryan (OL) v. Forrider (M) in a CRIME of a semifinal but that's the way it goes with a random draw. And while it does rob us of the match Saturday night, I wouldn't have the draws be any other way than random.
138B: K. McDougle (GL) v. Alexander (NL) ...that's Northland. Columbus Northland.
145T: Pretty tough throughout... Let's go with Driscoll (HB) v. Tate (HDav) for no other reason than because.
145B: I like a Boyd (M)/Luft (TV) rematch.
152T: Delande (HDav). ps: That's returning State Champion Delande.
152B: Wotring (LO) v. Miller (M)/Zoller (HB) winner. I don't know enough about either to pick one way or the other.
160T: Brown (WC)/Mickley (HDav) in another GREAT match. Dare I say donnybrook!?!?!?!
160B: Daniels (OL). Thanks for playing.
170T: Vincent Isaiah Pickett (CC...HS)
170B: Fox (DS)/Bowens (HD) right out of the gate!!!!!! Barnburner, boys!!! The winner here will meet more than likely Sowery (UA).
182T: Leidecker (TV) v. Pfarr (M)
182B: Call me a sectional homer if you want but an Adu (WN)/Foster (PC) rematch is not out of the question for this semifinal.
195T: Kitchen (PN) who has come along quite nicely could meet Chowoe (PC) in the semi, but do not count out the Juty (Briggs)/Lowery (UA) winner. Both are quite capable.
195B: I can see Taylor (M) v. Mayberry (WK), but watch out for the Friday Night Fireworks with Taylor and Sheppard (O). What a time to exact some revenge!?
220T: Someone from the top quarter will emerge to battle King (DS). That is my prediction.
220B: Mowery (DJ) v. Stinemetz (O)... LOVE IT!!!
285T: Before I begin... FRIDAY NIGHT FIREWORKS!!! Fleming (OL) v. Thirkield (M). I don't have an issue with Fleming being favored here. He will then meet Elflein (PN)- who will be the only wrestler entering this tournament undefeated. How 'bout that for some info.
285B: The winner of Wilson (PC)/Akatsu (DS) match will be one semifinalist, IMO. They will take on Young (O).

pinem07Here's my analysis of the Darby district next week in order of how each place will fill out. My opinion and I understand if you disagree or have other opinions.
106:
1. Riley
2. Rahmini
3. Gutierrez
4. Nace
5. Wimer
6. Torti
One of the most exciting weights to watch at Darby with a lot of kids all close to the same ability. I just don't see anyone matching Riley's combination of athleticism/strength. Would not surprise me if Wimer or Torti sneaked in the top 4. One kid to watch is Laney from Groveport. Very athletic and very scrappy. Someone that I would not want to match up against with so much on the line. I think the top kids experience will be too much for Laney.
113:
1. Spearman
2. Davis
3. Sparks
4. Orr
5. Valenti
6. Borton
The key match at this weight, in my eyes, will be Friday night with Orr and Valenti. Whoever wins this match gets to state and the other cross brackets and has to wrestle Sparks in the match to go to the Schott. I think Spearman is the top kid here and will show that this weekend.
120:
1. Penzone
2. Straughter
3. Kakos
4. Rooney
5. Mullucey
6. Shoemaker
A weight class that was tough to fill out with a lot of really close matches that could change this weight. Wouldn't surprise me if Mullucey qualified for state and even Shoemaker.
126:
1. Fiorucci
2. Murdock
3. McCurdy
4. Wilson
5. Barnhart
6. Boykin
Fiorucci dropping down makes this a pretty tough weight. One of the most anticipated finals here with two kids that are good friends and have wrestled each other on multiple occasions over there careers. Fiorucci is big and will be very big by Saturday night and will be to much to handle. McCurdy vs. Barnhart Friday night should be an exciting one. A big question here is how healthy is Wilson? He's injury prone and I know his shoulder might be in some pain from the finals with McCurdy this past weekend. I see him getting through the pain and getting to the Schott.
132:
1.Strope
2. McDougle
3. Nace
4. Schulze
5. Yarger
6. Black
The question here is can Strope win the big match against Nace in the semis. I see it happening but if he loses, he seems to struggle after losing a match. My bracket has Schulze and Yarger wrestling each other twice, once in the first round and in the match to go. Haven't seen Schulze wrestle but I know he is a tough kid.
138:
1. Ryan
2. McDougle
3. Forrider
4. Lancia
5. Gundling
6. DiBenedetto
The most anticipated semi-finals match in the district. This could possibly be the state championship match in the semis at district!!!(Both have to wrestle great at state but I could see it.) I know Forrider won earlier this year but Ryan is tough and I just got a hunch. Could easily see it going the other way
145:
1. Luft
2. Driscoll
3. Sunkle
4. Fosco
5. Boyd
6. Hauber
I can almost be sure that this weight won't end up like this. I can see 3-6 in any order and even Tate getting in their somewhere. Very hard to predict and should be fun to watch. I don't know if it was the smartest decision for Sunkle and Hauber to drop down to 145.
152:
1. Delande
2. Zoller
3. Miller
4. Wotring
5. Chappelear
6. Wooden
Delande wins this pretty easy with the rest of the field fighting for the other three spots.
160:
1. Daniels
2. Brown
3. Mickley
4. Bond
5. McCourt
6. Gamble
I see Daniels wins this convincingly, but Brown could give him a tough match. Brown and Mickley should be an exciting semi's match to watch.
170:
1.Pickett
2. Bowens
3. Riggs
4. Funk
5. Sowry
6.Sierawski
Pickett is on a mission to capture a state title and no one will slow him down at Darby.
182:
1.Leidecker
2.Lybarger
3.Pfarr
4.Neely
5.Foster
6.Adu
This weight class could change a lot on how the quarters matches go. I see Leidecker as the only quarters winner that I feel really comfortable about. These winners will effect how this bracket fills out and could change the results big time.
195:
1.Mayberry
2.Chowoe
3.Kitchen
4.Taylor
5.Lowery
6.Dick
I see Mayberry getting to the finals and the rest of the field could change a lot. Dick vs. Kitchen should be an exciting quarters final match. Sleepers at his weight are Kamba and Juty. Could see them upsetting somebody and sneaking in the top 6.
220:
1.Mowery
2.King
3.Stinemetz
4.Marshall
5. Rine
6.Marrow
285:
1.Fleming
2.Young
3.Elflein
4.Wilson
5.Christner
6.Thirkfield
The top half is by far the toughest with Thirkfield, Fleming, and Elflein. I could see Wilson getting to the finals and him and Young trading places with whoever wins that semis match. Wilson was winning in sectional semis until Young reversed him with about 15 seconds left. -
cruiser_96pinem07: 126: I thought McCurdy won by default over Wilson? While that wouldn't really change much, it would put Wilson against Barnhardt in the quarters. Again, not a big deal. Just trying to figure that situation out for my own sanity more than anything else.

Is that wrong?
FYI... Riley's two losses this year came really early. He lost to Spearman from Lancaster(@113), and to the 113#er from Lokata East at the Cincy Coaches Classic, but then turned around and completely dominated him for 3rd. He's undefeated right now at 106. He's been fun to watch that's for sure. -
