Division 1 Central District Championship at Hilliard Darby

iGranbyI applaud whoever called out the coach in question, honestly. If a rule was broken why let them go on?
-
catsfan1I can't say I am shocked at this whole thing. Having run accross this kid since he was in 7th grade I was always surprised that he was able to drop two weight classes at the end of the season. The alpha process was supposed to curtail this practice, but it seems that some programs are finding a way around it. The bottleneck situation in the middle weights with the "new and improved" weight class distribution can't be helping. The only "victims" I see in the whole thing are those kids who had their sectional results affected by a questionable decision of a coach, wrestler, and probably parents.

Wasnt the touney in question their own tourney?wrestle-dog;1094364 wrote:A copy is what they give back to all teams when the tournament director copies the master / originals. They only usually get an original back at a dual. But the real questions is WHY is the copy NOT acceptable? Is there something else wrong with his Copy??? Do U Copy what I am saying? Something does not add up. What sucks for the kid is if his coach told him it was okay and the kid did not know any better...that sucks for him. On the other hand, if they both knew. Shame on them. -
Cthelites3 hrs til weigh ins!

cruiser_96Aaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

cruiser_96Bowens/Fox does not... I say, DOES NOT!!!!!! disappoint!!! Those two kids deserved a standing O after that display! Great job the both of you.
-
maddog140Okay after much thought and talks to coaches at the tournament about the olentangy issue I'm now ready to weigh-in. I think this will all get settled out by itself in the weeks to come. Only two people really know the truth of what happened, the kid and his coach. If nothing wrong happened then the kid, and his parents will stand by his coach. If something shady did happen the boy more than likely will through his coach under the bus to his parents who then will in turn go to the school. So really there is no need in all this finger pointing at the moment and its just best it work out on its own.
On another note it was a great night of wrestling and look forward to some really great matches tomorrow. It was good to see all of my former colleagues today and I wish you all the best of luck tomorrow! -

No doubt.....crazy match. Long way back for Bowens....cruiser_96;1095077 wrote:Bowens/Fox does not... I say, DOES NOT!!!!!! disappoint!!! Those two kids deserved a standing O after that display! Great job the both of you.
How close was Strope to being pinned by Black in the quarters?
No one beats Riley.....
Alexander dominated Lancia.......kid looks pretty good.
Kakos vs Rooney.....Rooney pulls it out at the end after Kakos gets a late reversal to take a 1 point lead.
Donatelli.....oh so close to putting Fiorucci on his back with his gator roll. -
american guesserWhat a night! I like what i saw from a wrestling stand point out of liberty, marysville, lancaster, and olentangy. Those 4 teams looked very well coached!
Officiating was very good except for the 2 silver haired guys who seemed to be a slow step behind the rest, but even they maintained control of their mat very well.
Looking forward to tomorrow! Ryan and forrider is worth the price of admission! -
The2cKDude
Thought officiating was GREAT, except for mat 2. Just two guys trying to be the center of attention. Calling stalling when kids don't run to the center of the mat after going out of bounds? Sorry guys, but we (or at least I) go to the district to watch the wrestlers, not to watch the old guys in stripes fist pump.american guesser;1095136 wrote:What a night! Hit our 138# with stalling 18 seconds into the match, AS HE WAS TAKING A SHOT. This was just one of the multiple terrible stall calls on this mat. Very poor. -

Dad4SportsThe "go to" round was electric.....absolutely unbelievable high & lows. I can't believe how many matches were decided with reversals in the late stages.....comeback after comeback.
How good did Noah Forrider look? He was tremendous..... -
booboo
Agreed. Some of those last second reversals made all the difference...amazing heart and effort from the boys. Riley looked pretty smooth as did Forrider. Great entertainment, worth every penny!Dad4Sports;1095659 wrote:The "go to" round was electric.....absolutely unbelievable high & lows. 80babyFirst and foremost congratulations to all the Central District State Qualifiers I wish you all well and I hope to see you on the podium Saturday night. Also, job well done by the Darby District Staff you guys always do an awesome job running the tournament. I saw some really good wrestling over this weekend and Central Ohio wrestling is taking it to the next level so keep up the good work coaches and wrestlers.

Dirtyscramblehow about the officiating in that 106 match?
-
snugglyhippoI thought it was a good call. Rahmani had a merkle for two...they scrambled, no loss of control as he had a peterson position at the whistle. I am not a M-ville fan. What is your opinion scramble?
