Just got a call from Coach Busby at Westland, their heavyweight (Newton) is out; our heavy (Orange's Yun Kang) is in.
  • american guesser
Back to the whole olentangy thing, shouldn't they verify who needs to make scratch weight at the seed meeting so kids don't get screwed later?
  • pugluv
Nace's reasoning is simple...his son also wrestles 132 and he doesn't like Hammons.

I saw that they drew a qtrs match but Pollitt got beat in the first rd by Sunkle.
  • american guesser
Sunkle is not at 132, he is 145.

So according to you it had nothing to do with the fact that rules were broken. It was a personal beef. I feel bad for the wrestler. He got screwed by his coach.

pugluv: I don't know you from Adam, but you have this one wrong. Todd Nace wasn't around when the initial questioning of certification was asked.

    Pug--

Why do you or Dirtyscramble think Coach Nace is at fault for this issue? His reasoning is simple???
Would you guys like to share your assumptions of him being the cause for this kids coach not knowing and following rules? Just because Coach Nace has a son that wrestles the same weight, he is the guilty party???

Why try to throw another coach under the bus when it seems totally apparent that HIS OWN COACH DIDN'T
FOLLOW THE RULES!! If anybody should be blamed it would be his own coach, not another coach who has NO CONTROL over this kids doings.

Your assumptions make you appear as a victim that is always looking to someone else to blame. The kid and his family should be piss@@ at his coach and nobody else.

i dont know anything besides what i was informed, seems like olentangy is pointing fingers at coach Nace, i was informed that a copy of him making scratch was given to ohsaa, if you had a copy would you keep the original? i probably wouldn't, i have no dog in the fight, but whats 2 pounds? really i thought Central ohio tried to stick together, IF* hammons and Nace wanna be sneaky that isn't my problem, i just wanna know the whole situation because im nosey, not because i deserve to know
  • american guesser
I dont think you can blame coach nace. A kid should know if he made weight or not. Should i even ask if the other olentangy kids made weight?
  • Dirtyscramble
The kid says he made scratch before sectionals, ill take his word for it and let him wrestle, but i have no power :(

Dirty- If you really want to know the truth- talk to the kid and his coach. Don't go making assumptions based
on hear say , as it makes you look completely stupid ! Coach Nace is a stand up man, that goes well beyond
just being a coach! Thanks for opening your mouth and verifying your ignorance, instead of remaining silent
    and keeping us guessing.
  • Cthelites
Lets let all the kids get the growth allowance because they sasid they made scratch. lol
There are specific rules in place for this stuff.
Likee booboo asked about the % drop and all that for the alpha weight...does anyone ever check that? prolly not?
  • Dad4Sports
From where I sit, it is pretty simple.....either there is proof of the scratch weigh in or there is not.....

I have an idea. Stop having weigh-ins. Just ask the wrestler what they weigh. I'm sure everyone would be totally honest. According to dirtyscramble we should just take the kids word for it.

If you had a good chance to make it to the state and win some matches, you would not take the risk, not as a kid or as a coach, i dont care who you are. If there is inconclusive evidence as i am hearing, you have him scratch at districts.

My "Hear say" was from Cody himself, that is what he told, me, so i dont look completly stupid only kinda, but maybe you just looked stupid??

If there was not proof of the scratch weigh in, why/how was he allowed to compete at sectionals?

There was proof, but it was a copied document and not the original... apparently they want the original and Hammond's cant seem to locate it

A copy is what they give back to all teams when the tournament director copies the master / originals. They only usually get an original back at a dual. But the real questions is WHY is the copy NOT acceptable? Is there something else wrong with his Copy??? Do U Copy what I am saying? Something does not add up. What sucks for the kid is if his coach told him it was okay and the kid did not know any better...that sucks for him. On the other hand, if they both knew. Shame on them.
