HT lost 32 - 26 we had wins at 182,195,220,HWT,138,145 and 160 but the pins were hard to come by on our end but Hackett had the boys ready to go too bad the Amanda 195 had to go after Crum when he lost then alot of the parents got into it other than that it was everything you want a league matchup to be.

On a side note C.Ray bumped up to 152 to wrestle Horn very good match that he lost by a few but still a nice job by the freshman and B.Ray picked up his first ever win vs Minnard good luck to Amanda the rest of the way they are a solid team and well coached.

Wow, sounds like a close one....Ill eat some crow on this one. I didnt think the matchups were great for HT, I was wrong.
Tonight Circleville beats Bloom and loses to Canal. Some good matches but in the end CV just gives up way to many forfeits. I think tonight we had 4.

    Did Knul? and Hammond wrestle?
  • bush
Keato. I tried to tell you it would be a good dual between AC and HT. I figured AC would win but looks like it was a good one.
  • keato5
No, Knul wrestled 126 and Hammond at 132. Hammond, however did certify at 126 tonight (pretty sure)......Tullius and Holloway wrestled! Great match went into OT with Tullius winning. Also Cummings bumped up once again and wrestled Minnard from BC.....It was tight until a couple of late nearfalls in the 3rd period. I think Minnard won by 7.

I know! I guess its hard for me to judge the upper weights because we only have 4 kids over 150lbs this year......

Good to see Tullius back......ahead of schedule! What was the CW vs CV score?

That's huge for Hammond to get to 126.....

It was Boswell that wrestled Holloway last night and not Tullius ( I'm pretty sure ). It was a terrific match. I don't believe that Tullius wrestled.

Nice job HT. I will eat some crow this morning as well. I didn't think you would get that many wins in the upper weight classes against them. Sounds like it was a great dual.

Just got the scoop......Hammond did certify at 126. He received a FF there against BC, then bumped to 132 to face CV. And it was Boswell, not Tullius. Obviously VERY rusty, but great to finally see him back on the mat! He has time to finish with a flourish.....

Going into the final two weight classes it was 32-20 Amanda. B. Ray I thought had secured a defensive pin, had the guy stuck for a good 3-4 count but never called. 23-32 after Ray won, Crum then goes into OT against Chenetski. The gym was electric and you could feel the anticipation as Crum had several take down attempts only to go out of bounds. When Crum lifted Chenetski and lowered him to the mat and the ref called the pin the dynamite in the gym went off, not sure he actually got credit for the pin as it was close in time expriring but I agree there was some chatter in the stands between Amanda and HT parents... once that dual was over it seemed as if the air was let out of the gym and real quiet. I am glad I made it for this one.

If he's VERY rusty right now, he'll make the podium at state if he knocks that rust off. He was a little gassed near the end, not a lot though. He looked to wrestle a solid smart match and moved fast and strong.
Congrats to CW on a good match. I thought they were going to have a few forfeits. From what I seen they have not had a full lineup all year. They weighed in 16. Also a couple of well timed adjustments to their lineup was a smart move by their coach.

Some of circleville's kids did not make weight. We have 3 kids in the lineup that need to eat to get within a weight class. 2 of them were trying to get to 145.1 to wrestle 160 but they did not make it. Thus there was a double forfeit at 60. 7 out of 11 of our kids are up a weight for MSL's right now. With the new weight classes moving kids heavier, I wish OHSAA would allow kids to bump up 2 weights instead of 1. That sure would help teams fill the lineup and get rid of the bye's that they despise so much.

Viking - I think you have to make weight and wrestle that night to certify, you don't have to wrestle AT THAT weight, the coach can bump up the kid and he's still certified.

As long as he took a forfeit at it then he is good.

That Holloway came ready to wrestle. Boswell was rusty, but the CV came to win and made Joe work for every bit of the match. Props to him and the rest of the CV kids/staff. They have a lot of talent in their light to middle weights and will probably push quite a few to the state in March.

Agreed! CV has a good hard working group of kids.
They brought a big group of kids up to the Ohio CAPITALS Club at Darby.
Good luck in the post season!

Congratulations to Nathan Kern on a great win over Cole Trigg in the finals(120). I would also like to congratulate Tyler Knul for also winninng this weekend(126).

You guys are looking good. Keep up the hard work and continue to push each other in practice.
