Wayne county area wrestling '11-'12

A Waynedale dream season comes down to a few key points.
    1. We stay healthy.
    2. We stay out of trouble and stay focused.
    3. The 3 Z's, Zack, ZeB and Zane man up and do what they are capable of.
    4. Team Stanley, Dakota and Brendan Get on that podium.
    5. The Bear cave delivers. Staggs, Wardell, Orr, Ect... Get out of districts and win a match or two at the show.
    * the elimination of 140 really effected this young team. No matter what we do this year next year promises to be even a better year.
  • falcon81
Middle weight traffic Jam for the Bears.
    120/126-Zack Nelson
    132 - Skaggs/Wardell
    138- Zane Nelson
    145- Dakota Stanley/Orr
    152- Orr/Brenden Stanley
    160- Beam/Brenden Stanley/Orr
    171- Beam/Orr
106/113- Lots of combinations of very solid wrestlers.
Everything above 171 very solid and filled but won't be sure who is where until certification.
    * again the elimination of 140 really Jams things up but competition is what makes a great team.

How's the team poster coming along?
1_beast;962909 wrote:Big Offseason....Big Dreams....Big Goals....Thats why we wrestle the matches...mano a mano....best man wins....let the cards fall as they will. Lot of matches to wrestle before the state tournament...actually...if a Bear were to go to State UNDEFEATED...he could be about 55-0 to 58-0 heading to The Schott. Heavy scheduled matches....

Still undecided on the route to take. I'll cover the expense....just waiting on the opportunity to get the team together...and the right "Theme"

1st off I may be late on this but I saw that rittman now has middle school wrestling! I knew they had started up the youth just a few seasons ago. Anything on them ever starting up the high school program now?

You're short changing norwayne. Their power in their line up may match up very well with the likes of wattle golden bears, and if they get solid wins from a team that graduated NOBODY they could very well win it. Here's my prediction!

    1.Waynedayle
    2. Norwayne
    3. Chippewa
    4. Northwestern
    5. Smithville
    6. Hillsdale
    7. Dalton
  • 1_beast
Norwayne must be the preseason favorite!

So does anyone have line up thoughts yet? The season will be starting befor you no it.

    The Bears 2011
    106 Wirth/Gailhouse
    113 Richards
    120/126 Nelson/Staggs
    132 Wardell
    138 Nelson
    145 Stanley
152/160/ 171 Orr/Stanley/Beam-start in this order and flip at State.
    182- Strausbaugh
    195 Gingerich
    215 Fraelick
    Hvy Wellman

Alpha weights last night at West Holmes. No surprises , everyone certified where they needed to. I see Zeb Beam at 171 the whole season now with probably Orr and Stanley swapping 152/160 by the end of the season. Any other news on weight changes due to Alpha testing?

all joking aside a Claymont Waynedale match would be great to see.

I agree that would be a fun dual meet. I would like to see their current line up with the weight changes. I have always been a big fan of Claymont.

Here is a guess 106 burcher
    113 D. Warner
    120 Langdon
126 Avery Think all these would go to claymont.
    132 Herron a good match
138 Dillon This goes to Wayne, unless Warner gets here then a classic match
    145 Warner-Claymont wins
    152? Wayne wins it
160 Peters, could be a classic match
171 Featherham, Waynedale gets this one
    189 Dennis- Claymont
    215 Johnson- Claymont
    hvwt Corso- Claymont.

7 to claymont, 4 for Wayne and 2 toss ups

I may be prejudiced But I will take Zack against anybody at 126 or 120. He beat IV Warner 18-10 last year who took a solid 3rd div.2. He pinned 2x Div.1 champ Jerome Robinson, Div1 champ Thompson, 4x Mich. champ and Fargo champ Freddie Rodriguez Twice, once by a tech fall shut out, and Mich. Champ Bade, all in the last 6 months . At minimum thats another toss up if not a lean towards Waynedale. I have this at 7-7 with bonus points making the difference. We have some pinning machines , it would be a lot of fun either way. Next year this entire team is back except for Gingerich and Beam with some real studs coming in from 8th grade. I'am a big Warner family fan along with Peters. I really would like to see Claymont finish in the top 3 this year.

On reflection and with you input I agree Zack will win,but I think both teams get some bonus points and think Claymont ends up with a few more Would be a good match though.

Hope both teams have a great season.

I would agree Claymont would be the favorite coming in. Any of those big match ups could go either way. There may be favorites in this sport but there are no givens and we have all humbly learnt that lesson both ways win and lose!

I agree that you never know till they hit the mat, things happen with wrestlers and teams, That's why I said it be a great match to see. I like it that Claymont wrestles a tough schedule and that they are big match ready at the end.

LOL Well...from the looks of it...The Bears win in a landslide, no one else in the WCAL seems to have a roster! ;) Looks like we get all the #1 seeds, bye to the

finals...bye to the top of the podium....

Hard to make comparissons if you only see the Bears!
  • zoocrew
Where are the Norwayne boys going to end up at (Grier 126/132, little Moore 132/138, Big Moore145?, Studer145/152, Rohrbaugh? Britton 113?) I heard that they are dropping there first tourn because of football

Beast we must not let the thick dark shadow of bear land choke out the light of the rest of the league. Surely someone in the Wayne county league has a rooster? Or is that just my friend Jim Beam sharing a Coke with me talking?
