Waynedale is a small school in the country that is composed of 4 very small towns. Apple Creek (Waynedales address), Mt. Eaton, Fredericksburg and Holmesville are the four villages/towns that compose the "Southeast Local school District", these 4 towns feed into one Jr High and one High School, Waynedale.Cthelites;1069931 wrote:Falcon, i thought Wanedale was in Applecreek not Fredericktown?

We were hoping to build a New High School with a centralized campus......but thats a whole different animal.
Edit: Fredericksburg is 6 miles from Waynedale, Apple Creek is 1 mile, Mt. Eaton is about 7 miles and Holmesville about 12 miles.....alot of cornfields and open air up here.
Most of the schools in this area (WCAL) are the same as Waynedale in the fact that their are several small towns that feed into the one H.S. -

Waynedale is looking to build a new high school? This is the first I have heard of this.
How many hitching rails are required by code in East Union Township?
Curious in Wooster. -
1_beastThis has been under discussion for the last 4-5 years....Levy failed...then passed....try to keep up.
Glad to help, in Apple Creek
Edit: Not in as bad of shape as Triway...but headed in that direction. -

You will need that new school once you start to absorb those Triway students once that school system closes its doors. -

Northwestern will win the title.
Grier, Fortune and Beam all will be going for their 4th title....
Northwestern?.........Do you think they are deeper?
I figured the resurgence of Hillsdale, Smithville & Norwayne would help Waynedale more in a pool tournament than Northwestern.
Do I have it backwards? Northwestern benefits?
I would love to hear some opinions from anyone but Red Rum. -

no, on second thought
 -
rtherthrwyathnknwyaMore matches=more wins to the deeper team. The deeper team is the Huskies. Way & NW's .500 kids vs many of the remaining field's .500 kids=advantage Way & NW. NW has more .500 kids that will have this kind of success. Waynedale has more high quality kids.
This format favors the Huskies this season. -
BearBoy69it'd almost be a shame for the best d3 team in the state to lose the WCAL that way, but i guess that's how the cookie crumbles sometimes

...so was it shameful that Waynedale didn't win state duals?BearBoy69;1073967 wrote:it'd almost be a shame for the best d3 team in the state to lose the WCAL that way, but i guess that's how the cookie crumbles sometimes
The answer is no. David Stiltner carries no shame in my eyes to have been a state champ and a WCAL runner up is the same season. Apples & oranges. In a heated league battle anything can & will happen. -
BearBoy69
Well yes that is the truth. Obviously we would remember WAY's 2011-12 State Championship as a team more than NWN's possible WCAL championship, but stillrtherthrwyathnknwya;1074236 wrote:...so was it shameful that Waynedale didn't win state duals?

Cabindwellerhas anyone figured out how the pool tournament will be run, seeded, etc?
-
Red RumThe WCAL tournament will be very entertaining regardless of who wins. The league has more balance than any time in my memory. It appears quite possible that 6 different teams could have an individual champion.
Northwestern has surprised alot of people this year with all the tournament & dual meet victories. If you would have told me in December that the Huskies would win the SMCC duals, I would have laughed in your face. I don't see them making alot of noise beyond sectionals, but I've been wrong on pretty much all Northwestern predictions this year, so who knows. I'm still not positive they can upset Waynedale at county but whatever happens, its been a great year for the blue and gray and next year looks even better.
If Waynedale ends up winning state but not county, it would not be unprecedented.
Monroeville won district titles in 2009 & 10 and were state champs in 2010.
Their last Firelands Conference title was in 2000.
Crestview kept getting in the way. -

Who has Northwestern surprised? I told you tools in December that NWN was defending and favored. Bears have some guns....but BIG TOURNAMENT GUNS....a 7 team tourney...now pool style....and....abracadabra...........I feel like Nostradamus.Red Rum;1074529 wrote:The WCAL tournament will be very entertaining regardless of who wins. Is it coincidence that NWN is hosting....and we change format....suits the huskie pups fine.....with the balance in this years tourney...it may suit the Bears as well...but look out for Norwayne!!!!
As much as I would love to win the WCAL....if its not in the cards....so be it, as long as The Bears can march into the Schott and take carer of business!
Edit: you posters need to find Beast and introduce yourselves. -
Bloody ToothbrushR-Man...
Thanks for answering my question about who the pool style favors.
Beast...
Thanks for nothing.....I guess you're afraid to answer me.
It's ok......I know country folk can be a little timid when faced with hard questions or the sound of them new fangled motor cars.

Thanks for letting me pirate your signal.....other than that you're absolutely useless.
I'd also like to take a moment to tell you that Hoegaarden sucks and only wannabe euro-wussies like yourself drink that bubblegum flavored sewer water.

Go on a diet....BOY!!!!!
That should do it.....the thread can die now. -

top to bottom, Northwestern may in fact be deeper. Other schools definately will have an impact on both Nwn and Wayndale....Norwayne middleweights, Smithville and Chipppewa upperweights, Hillsdale has kids scattered that are solid. Should be interesting.Bloody Toothbrush;1072416 wrote:Northwestern?.........Do you think they are deeper?

firestonefanHad a great time at Waynedale today! Lots of great wrestling fans and people. Good luck to the Golden Bears next weekend. Thanks 1 beast for helping to set this up and getting us a sponsor. We would love to come back for something next year!! The matches will be up at www.nwntv.com as soon as humanly possibly. Great to meet Mr Beam (not Jim, although he's OK) and to have a talk with Dean Nelson again.
My only complaint is that there were no coney dogs, just plain hot dogs. And I thought you guys would be louder (lol).
