Bitterrunner-upIs anyone else thinking of wrestling in the Wrestle Against Autism Tournament?
-
cruiser_96bitter... when is the tournament? You mentioned it on Tuesday, but I don't remember you saying a date.
Unrelated: The Mrs. and I decided on Builders Pride, Select Maple, 3/4" x 4". Bought just over 800 sq. ft. ...Lumber Liquidators did us right on some things. All in all, excellent experience so far. Next comes the preparation and installation of the floor. Wish me luck. -
Bitterrunner-upCruiser...I think it's 14th or 15 of May. I was really into it when I heard about it. Coach Nicola did it last year and had a good time. But as I start to try to get back into some kind of shape, I am begining to realize that my skills (which weren't that great to begin with) are deteriorating very, very quickly. Bottom line, I'm old and not that good. If it happens, it's likely going to be a vey long day for me.
BTW, you can't go wrong with maple. -
cruiser_96You inspire.
I might. I doubt I will. But who knows. As a 4x sectional qualifier, my expectations are extremely low. So just showing up, going 0-2 would be par for the course! Who knows, maybe I could squeak out an overtime win over some dad that has never wrestled in his life but wanted to join in on the fun.
With my luck, someone from the OSU wrestling team would enter. DEAR GOD!!! that WOULD be my luck!!!
Anywho, getting into a singlet would be interesting. Wearing headgear again would be a bit odd. Lacing up my (anything-but-Nike) shoes would still be the same though.
Who knows, bitter. I may join you. I think I'll base my decision on this weekend's US Open results. GO TOMMYITSAPACE!!!!! -
Bitterrunner-upYeah, it won't be very inspiring when I get my butt kicked. I think the weights go 145, 155, 170, 190, 235, Hwt...But I'm not sure, I may be missing one of the upper weights.. What weight would you go? I'm thinking 155, but we'll see how it woks out.
-
cruiser_96With the weights you have listed, I'd have to go 190. WHICH WOULD NOT BE GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!! At all.
I don't think any amount of inspiration (sorry, Tommy) could drop me to 170. -
zambrownI think we're going to be at the Autism Tourney, Bitter. Missed it last year but have done it every other year. It's a wonderful tournament in terms of raising money for Autism awareness and the competition level has been outstanding the years we went.
-
Bitterrunner-upZamB...I'll start chasing down Zach at open mats to help me get in shape. I wish Ready was up and running.
-
zambrownHe joined a certain freestyle club that I believe had your name on the brochure. You'll be able to find him there.
-
Bitterrunner-upZamB...I usually head up there on Wednesdays (Mondays are bad for me this time of year). It sounds like you guys are at Bradley that night. I'm sure we'll cross paths a few times before May 15th.
Cruiser...I just checked the registration and it goes 170, 185. Does that help? I may end up at 170, this weight loss thing gets tougher every year.

cruiser_96185 WOULD help. hmmmm.....
-
Bitterrunner-up185, come on, you know you want to. If I remember correctly, Coach Ryan was there last year. Maybe you can convince him to sit in your corner?

Now that is unfair! You and I BOTH know that the restraining order won't allow for that.
...silly bitter...
However, just having him in the building will add to the likelihood of my entry. Keep up the peer pressure. It's working! -
cruiser_96"Don't turn around, oh oh!..."
Loved it, by the way! My only question is, who was the dislike!? WITCH HUNT!!!!!!!! -

cruiser_96So I get on the off-ramp from the highway, and as I approach the light, I fall in line behind a motorcyclist. Beaufitual day; nice to see him enjoying it. As we make our left onto the street we pass a couple of other motorcyclists in a matter of about 2 miles. As the guy I'm following approaches to pass the on-coming cyclists, they both drop their left hand as a nice gesture, and perhaps a sign of solidarity.
I tell you that to tell you this... as we rolled along the 4 or 5 miles, I noticed him do it to a few more mufflercyclists.
And then it happened.
As we travelled up the hill and approached a neighborhood, a non-four-wheeled vehicle was pulling out towards us. But this time, it wasn't a motorcycle. It was a moped! Maybe. I know one thing... It was NOT a motorcycle. I figued the guy in front of me wouldn't drop his hand for this guy. And I was right. As a matter of fact, he did the old "Hey? What's over there" head swivel over his right shoulder.
I laughed aloud. -
Bitterrunner-upWhat, no respect for the moped? I get that's it's not the level of cool that a motorcycle demands, but when I was 15 it was the greatest thing mankind had ever invented.
-
cruiser_96Oh, I'm right there with you! Mopeds are sweet! Not quite a segway, but it doesn't have to be! I mean, after all, you can't travel the open roads on a segway! But then again, you can't peruse the mall on a moped. Different instruments for different needs I guess.
All in all, the dirt bike is up there as well. Cross over to a four wheeler and IT IS ON!!!!!!
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, the house is being prepped for hardwood installation. GET SOME!!! -
cruiser_96In a different vein... My brother and I stopped out to watch The MIGHTY CRUISERS play a little baseball. It was then that I noticed the difference between it and wrestling.
If wrestlers and wrestling coaches approached America's past time with the same intensity we have for wrestling, there would be no signs. It would be, "YOU SEE THAT KID AT THE PLATE!? THROW THE HEATER BY HIM!!! Come on!" Stealing a base: "Jonny! This catcher thinks he can throw you out... Get off the bag AND MAKE IT HAPPEN!!! Let's go!"
What's with all the secrecy!? And bunts??? Get the heck out of here! Your job is hit the cover off the ball EVERY FREAKIN TIME!!! Now get after it!
Just sayin'. -

Well played. -
falcon81Here is a relevant article about wrestling and what started this Parody of a relevant topic and lead to a meaningless and purposeless goal of babble that seems to have lost it meaningless steam. Maybe some relevance and purpose can help your cause even though it may cause extreme discomfort to those misguided fans of thoughtless endeavor. Wow I have not visited here in a while but wow have things slowed down and got sort of even more pointless.
