Westland Sectional

  • ohiowrestlingchamp
Outz missed a pretty large chunk of the season this year due to injury.
  • bw133
135-Reynolds (GM) has a very good shot at winning this sectional. He will at least be in the finals.
130- Look for a rematch between ouzts and Nicholson in the finals with Gundling making a push to make it to Darby.
119- You could see Nick V. (WK) at this weight, if so look for him to be in the finals with a very tough Logan Strope who i think wins this tournament.

I agree with the ouzts miss considering he dominated Jones(bexley) and hes in it at d2 nonetheless he didnt compete at medina so he wasnt seen

Either way neither would be "prohibitive" in my book they looked pretty equal.

Look. Enough is enough. I am the resolver of this dispute. "Haslam, who improved to 24-6, earned his 98th career victory in a 1-0 win against Kilbourne's Nick Varazashvili." And here, my doubting Thomases is the link to the news story: http://www.thisweeknews.com/live/content/west/stories/2011/01/15/sports/wrestling-team-earns-first-occ-victory.html?sid=104

Would be a bad move for nick v. If he's already beat some of those guys then he is a district fav. He has no shot making it out of districts at 119. 5 high brakemen wrestlers.

Nick v already beat Longwell (HD).

Standoff- I agree 100%, 119 looks extremely tough to crack a top four and it would take almost a perfect draw mixed with a eprfect tournament, where as 125 is wide open

Nothing really looks easy now that all the top teams from Dayton are coming.
Add Stephens and Cochran to the 125 mix.
I know some more are alphad there like Forrider and heard Ouzts might go down??? Who knows? Sure would be nice to have that crystal ball lol.
Sometimes you drop or bump into a more difficult situation since you never know what type of draw you are going to get at districts.
Why not wrestle at your most comfortable competitive weight unless you know certain givens.
    What are your goals?
To win district...to make it out...to place at state?
If someone wants to make noise at the state then bumping up certainly isnt going to help.
It cracks me up how so many get on here saying this one is crazy for going here or there.
Im sure the coaches have a game plan set up with the best intentions to get their wrestler to where they want to go.

cthelights, I agree. If you want to be somebody, you have to BEAT somebody.

Anyone got anything on Mayberry from Kilbourne? Weight? Success probabilities?

Maybe the Darby district could start looking toward the state level instead of just district.
Could that be why we get bashed by people like Buckman every chance they get?
We've been ahead of FF 2 of the past 3 yrs but I see them gaining big time on us.
I know it hasnt helped loosing some great kids to transfers and school splits dropping Olentangy and Bradley into D2.

Mayberry (WK), 215. Was defeated by eventual champ Coon (Nelsonville York) 7-1, and then dropping into the conso bracket, was upended by Waymon (Groveport Madison) 7-5. All this happened at the Cruiser Invitational. That is all I have.

I have seen kids suck too much weight and really effect their performance. Each kid is different. Some are comfortable at a higher weight and higher energy level and some are better off cutting. I think a big mistake is made by analysing opponents instead of analysing the weight where YOU wrestle your best or feel most comfortable. Bumping down doesn't guarantee anything on any level.

You can add Davis from Sidney and Puska from Edgewood to the mess at 119. Trust me, Puska will be a factor at Darby. Unorthox style, tall frame and mean disposition. Last year he got hurt in the quarters against McVeigh and tried to come back but ended up defaulting to 6th. Major sleeper here.

Mayberry is dropping to 171, Bressman Dropped to 189.

Good chance Bradley is D1 next year....don't know about Olentangy though

Heard Ole prolly sticking at 2.
Bradley definitely will be 1 or Darby will drop? Darby's already the smallest of the Hilliards.
Will Worth Kilbourne drop? They are smaller than Darby/Bradley

Will be interesting to see the new #s for the next 2 yrs.
If D1 gains anymore will they realign any schools out of the Central District which already has 38 schools plus the lone SE district school Logan splitting into 3 sectionals. That is several more schools per sectional(13/39) than any district.

Here I see 7 possible DQ's at 160 Pickett (CC), Brown (WC), Patrick (MF), Hoover (RB), Lopez (DJ), Bond (L) and Fox (DS). Feedback rocks! Not really an expert at 160 though. I gave it a shot. Too bad 3 wont make it.
  • Sid
I like Jones 140 (MF). He really looks the part! Hes a physical kid, quick and with skills. Hes my dark horse to make some noise at Districts and maybe even States.

Gee. All of the sudden, 130 ain't half bad.

Ouzts pinned Nicholson at the duals so the nod goes to Ouzts to win this one out...

Fairily weak, but Hysell is very tough. he could very well be one of the four headed to the Schott at this weight.

Is this still going to happen on the 19th? ;)
  • lowsingle174
Cruiser, are you going to do a weight class breakdown for Westland sectional? I will love you if you do, and loathe you if you don't
