iQuitKenji wrestled well, but gassed at the end in the finals. Fluty wrestled well, where was James Mcguire at? 2 tough opponents in the 119 finals. Cochran is very tough on top, Varazashvili didn't seem to have wrestled his best. I enjoyed Donatelli vs Gundling match more than the 130 finals to be honest. Cory workman (152)wrestled well in the finals was winning like 9-2 but he gave up too many points, either way he had the kid stacked, but pinned in eventually anyways. I would like to have seem Zach Mays in the finals, but he wrestled tough, I think he could have won. What happen to Tyler Bowens? 215 was very exciting, especially the finals. Where was el geroushi at?
-
KwrestlingKenji did seem to have gassed at the end. Varazashvili was sick. Bowens was injured, may have fractured his rib which had already been bruised and el geroushi was at a college visit. Refs didn't seem to call pins very quick, or count the backpoints.

I have about 20 things to say about today; 98% positive, 1% negative, 1% improvement. But that will have to wait. Thanks a million to everyone that made this day possible…it did NOT go unnoticed!!! -
80babyMcGuire had the flu bug so he didn't wrestle today. Funny the top 2 seeds where out sick. Better to be sick and over it before sectionals. Quite a few coaches said they had kids out sick today. Great tournament today nice job cruiser.

Sid"I would like to have seem (seen) Zach Mays in the finals...I think he could have won"??? Huh?? Brown (WC) beat Jones (TV) worse than the 12-5 score indicates and Jones beat Mays more than that their score indicated at 6-4. Hats off to Kiplinger (OO) for wrestling his tail off and getting fifth! Brown was a tough draw for him. But, he battled back. Cruiser! GREAT Tournament again!

CthelitesGreat tourney Cruiser!
Good to see you again.
Very good tourney very well run. Heres hoping you guys can get those new mats. Im happy to contribute lol!
Very hospitable crew. Keep everyone well informed. Good brackets/updates. The info booklet was awesome!
Tough competition, wish we were at full strength to make a serious challenge.
Thanks for making this a memorable experience!
It was nice to finally meet the legend zambrown!
Sorry we met at a not so good time.
Congrats to Zac on a great win! -

Austin Jones from Tri-Valley -
Westie101no bowens or el-geroushi from darby?
-
cruiser_96Bowens had to default from the semis. El-Geroushi had to drop out prior to Saturday. Darby was not at full strength. Come to think of it, I don't think anyone was. There are a few kids that I would have loved to seen today. Oh well. And as much as it pains me to say this, better to have them in Feb. Than for the TCI.

cruiser_96Videos are uploading. And I'm upset. Somehow, I did not press record on 135. The worst part is that it was our kid. Granted, we did lose, but still, I wanted all the finals, and Moody is well deserving of his victory to be shown. Carl Moody... I owe you one. (And with you being in high school still, I'll figure up something that that "one" can be. Perhaps a bowl of Dip'N'Dots at the Schott.)

cruiser94Thank you to everyone that made the 2nd annual Cruiser Invitational the success it was. The support from those that volunteered was fantastic.
All in all I feel that everything about yesterday went great. The wrestling was good, the food in the hospitaility room was great & the atmosphere for the Championship Matches was absolutely phenomenal.
As always we have a couple of munor adjustments to make prior to next year, but nothing to big.
Once again thank you to everyone who showed up & made the tournament the success it was. -

In a dream world, we'd place 6 resilites down, add walkways and THEN build the gym! But unfortunately, our district doesn't even have money (or space) for an auxiliary gym.
Last year's Varsity tournament had space (I'm pretty sure). Only 14 teams, max of 196 wrestlers (our jv tournaments usually bring in 230+). Plus the cafeteria will be open as well.
As has been often said, our (my brother and I) dreams and desires are bigger than our facilities will allow.
Also, concerning the JV tournaments... we run two for the very reason you mentioned. Get these kids matches against similar competition.
Hopefully our lack of seating doesn't stain the sport for you, 1prouddad. It is a great sport with a large amount of GREAT people. I hope this tournament can work for you. (...and your wrestler!)
Cruiser - this was a great tournament! still a little tight on seating, but we managed. I was really impressed with how well the tourney was run and the amount of talent you brought in. My kid got 5 tough matches. And I'd say the tourney definely worked for him. He drew Mays in his first match (that's a tough one) but battled his way back to the consolation semis where he got Mays again (another tough one but he gave Mays a much better match the second time around) but in my opinion finsihing right behind Brown, Jones, and Mays is nothing to hang your head about. This plus the team win for LV made the day perfect for both of us! Thanks for a great tourney Cruiser! Can't wait for next year. -

YOU STOLE MY LINE!!!!!! I was also going to razz him about the proper use of "to" and "too" as well! That is two ways to use it! And that's a third!
Glad it worked out for you, 1prouddad. -

Sir, you have a PM. Just let me know.
Funny story: Last year, in the email that went out to the coaches that asked for their line-ups, I asked that they spell their kids' names right. I didn't tell them why though. Then, in the coaches meeting, I "unveiled" the individual championship award prototype. About 5 or 6 hands went up stating I had a name mispelled.
Concerning the spotlit finals... It may have been the last time. It added quite a bit of time to the tournament. I will admit though, I did love it!!! We may return to it IF... IF... IF I get the necessary info for what I would like as far as rental (if even possible), fee, and assembly requirements... *HINT* it will occur on March 5th... -
cruiser_96sportsdad1970: Should an "e" be at the end of that name??????? If so, BAH!!! My bad. Let me know, though. If that is the case, we can add that to the end of each name. Just let me know.
