Yeah, We wrestle a weak schedule! Didn't you already know that?

    What a jackwagon!

EDIT: Next year we are looking to add Rittman and St Francis Sisters School of the Blind...just trying to beef things up.

All kinds of locals in the area this weekend. Great time to promote the sport I guess. Wooster pool tourney with dalton in attendance. Northwestern duals with smithville and hillsdale someone said. Waynedale duals but they are selfish and won't let other area teams play unless you count garaway... or tough enough for some posters. West holmes host their tourney next week correct? Who wrestles in that or does WH not count since they are in the great county of holmes since we nit pick about every aspect of specific teams....

After Zane Nelson Broke the 1987 Waynedale fastest pin record of 8 seconds in 5 seconds last week he just broke it again and set the new state record made in 1991 in only 3 SECONDS! Since last week he has pinned in 3, 5, 8, 8, 9, 9, 10, 10, 12,19 and 19 seconds. Sorry just a proud Dad needing to share a little enthusiasm about his son. Wayne county holds a state record , glad to be a Bear!.... Back to retirement....please don't tell my wife I was on hear...

Thanks for that info! 24 pins between 3 and 5 seconds between 1970 and 2011, 41 years! Zane did it twice in a week at 3 and 5 seconds! 2 and half years to go! Sorta meaningless but still fun!

I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed, but I'm starting to think Bendy ole boy has some issues with Waynedale. Anyway, Bend, How did Hasley do at Firestone? I'm sure that wicked tough Marietta schedule payed off.....and if Beam/Hasley ever does happen, I'll take Beam with a 1st period fall.

Congrats to Zane Nelson on tying the state fast pin record.

Beasty Boy....Make sure you guys specify that the blind St. Francis chicks can't bring their guide dogs onto the mat....a 130LB german shepard can really impact the outcome of a wrestling match....I learned that the hard way.

Limbaugh81...Nice to have you back, agree or not, always like hearing your take on things.

R-Throw ya Man.....Hows the math? Any changes in prediction now the seasons a month older? I'm still thinking Waynedale but Northwestern is probably going to make it quite interesting. I now think Chippewa may edge out Norwayne for 3rd but thats going to be close as well. The only thing I feel confident about is Dalton will get last. The WCAL is gonna be a good one this year.

Red Rum....Let me know about the Sandusky trip....I gotta see where that guy got pushed off the balcony. If its not to high I'll let you push me off.......if you got the balls.

Where is that cat eatin' Miyagi fool????

I'am guessing the bloody toothbrush stuck after you were punched in the mouth by a gun toting, bible thumping, military veteran, Limbaugh loving Bush1, Bush2, Ronald Reagan, Pro Business, Fox news, wrestling kick A$$, conservative, socialist hating Anti Obama, pretty nice guy depite what some hood wearing cowards might say other wise. Seriously its all for fun and I'am sure we should all get together at the end of the season at the Jail House in Wooster and we would have a pretty good time! I'am sure I'll be expected to pay 95 percent of the bill and get spit on afterwords but us republicans are use to that!
All kidding aside , come on down to Waynedale Saturday and see some real wresting action! The Waynedale Duals will be deadly tough! We have hand chosen the toughest teams in the state of Ohio, It will be the greatest show in .......Town(Apple Creek)! Don't miss it!! I'll have some Kool aid for you Hateraid drinkers and some rare Waynedale Jello!
  • THE4RINGZ
I've been to the jail house in Wooster. No beer, just surplus government cheese and a t.v. dinner. Thank God I made bail.

If you are referring to The Olde Jaol Tavern, I'd be down meeting up with You guys to recap the season. And I will pay my own tab, but thanks for the offer.
  • WiseOwl
County is heating up......got a strange feeling the Huskies might pull through...... on a side note lots of great area wrestling this weekend, not sure where I will perch up at!
  • 1_beast
WiseOwl...my preseason prediction went to the Huskies...and i was sandblasted for "sandbaggin" lol Its gonna be a "donnybrook" (thanks for that word Mr Brakeman). Toss The Bears and Huskies in the draw with the chipps, bobcats upper tier guys/gals, and Hillsdale and Smithville studs...Dalton has a few noise makers.......Its The Huskies Title to lose....the Bears are looking to Drive for 5.

Aha..ha..ha....You kill me Limbaugh....I'm actually pro gun, pro small business and staunchly independent politically. Disgusted by the antics of large corporations and their lobbyists. Radio D-Bags (both liberal & conservative) who preach their partisan non cooperative spew also make me sick. But the worst is the guy (Rush) who wants to throw all drug offenders in jail then cries for mercy after he gets busted for drugs.

Anyway 81...paint me with whatever brush you wish. I can take it and enjoy it. I should warn you though, before you say I'm pouring the hateraid, take a hard look in the mirror, it's alot like the pot calling the kettle black.

We do have one thing definately in common, we enjoy wrestling. Like I said, I enjoy your take but don't always agree. So speak your mind and don't be surprised when I speak mine. I am 100% bully proof.

Best of luck to you & the Bears....after all I picked WD to win.

I don't need people around me that agree and it don't sound like we would agree on much, lol, but I do like a person who is willing to stand up and speak for what he believes in ! I started out a poor boy in Wilmot who lived in a barn , d student and no where to go but join the service. What I got was from scratch, no loans , no rich buddies, no country clubs, blood sweat and tears. I help people and I don't hate on someone just because they have more or less than me. I didn't paint you anything , thats your blood on the tooth brush and your handle! I was just joking with you and firing back for fun . Who ever you are I think its obvious you know who I'am and I'am pretty comfortable with my name or any name you want to give me! Don't have a clue who you are! I do enjoy your posts and sarcasm , keep it coming !! I say we all have a good get together at the end of the season and break some bread and beer! Its all for the entertainment and info. Northwestern is the favorite right now so we are going to have to pick up the pace. Bonus points will be the key at the county meet.... Bonus points not wins and losses!

He is fine now ! Minor setback. Playing it safe . He will wrestle saturday !
  • 1_beast
    Harter is fine!

With Waynedales schedule, Chippewa may actually be the next best after Northwestern. Bears may be wrestling for 3rd! Just a thought!

Hoping my Generals can make a good showing at home tourney this week. Ellsworth and Catanzirite are excellent combo plus some other imporving.

Its good to see Woosters program on the upswing. Would of been nice to see Anderson get to complete the year. Hes a good kid

I will have final predictions the week of county, however I still think there are some unsettled teams that will help shape the picture. I'm wondering if the lil' beast and the smaller Nelson could swap? There are other strong moves and developments that could happen. Thus I wait.

I would like to weigh in on the concept of a 3 second pin. I know that if I start off by saying "no disrespect" that someone is about to be disrespected...but, there are factors besides the wrestler that come into play to allow a fast pin. Ref, clock operator, opponent all play a role. I joked the other day that I'm not sure I could pin the throwing dummy in 3 seconds. To take an opponent from on their feet to fall criteria in 1 second is incredible (there's the compliment) I still question the feasibility. That goes for all fast pins. I know I see pins missed all day long by officials. Surely there are more that could be on the posted list if conditions were favorable. Congratulations Mr. Nelson. I salute you on your dominance and getting right to business.

About schedules. Its hard to bring a team into a marquee tourney w/o a great resume...but, how do you get the resume w/o the competition? Answer is off season program. Jr. high programs all have much more comparable schedules, yet their wrestlers still improve @ Waynedale, WH, NW.... Why? Off season programs & tourneys.

WE NEED TO GET TOGETHER! I proposed this sectionals last year. Provided a t-shirt, and got stiffed. I don't care if its the Old Jaol, Jail, the little store by the school, Frau Kraus. Whatever. Our conversations are too good to leave in cyberspace.

Good points on the quick pin theory and I will say I agree on all points. When Zane had his 5 second pin the week before , the ref , Louie and the table agreed it was a 4 second pin and the Ref said it caught him by surprise and he had to jump to the other side to call it! Coach Louie told Zane that would never be broke, which set up the 3 second pin the next week. The funny part of the story a week later is Zane got the same ref he had just had a 9 second pin, 2 matches earlier. Zane Joked with the table and official to please pay attention , he intended to break the 5 second record from the week before. This got a good laugh from the ref and Table and a nice little crowd was watching this match based on the challenge put out. The down side was the kid knew what he was going to do and was being coached to avoid it. When he decked the kid the ref went to the wrong side again and had to jump to other side after going to his knees. The ref joked and other refs who witnessed it said it was a 2.5 second pin if the ref would not have gone to wrong position. The next day everyone agreed and it was possible and it was easily 3 seconds in the Refs lounge. The Table and Ref was amused Zane could call it ahead of time and break the 5 seconds but that also helped it happen because they were on there toes. A record like that is only for fun. It won't win you a State title. But little rewards and accomplishments help a kid get thru a long season and the Team also seemed to enjoy it. According to national records it has happened only 3 times nationally ever. Twice in Ohio now and once in N. Carolina.
The Zack and Dakota flip at 119/125 can't happen due to alpha limits.
Schedules..... We personally have a brutal off season schedule so I don't worry about the Waynedale schedule... Garfiels Hieghts and State will suffice. We do two brutal regional tournaments(N.Y/ central US), the state tournament, and Fargo in freestyle/greco. We also go to Disney All star division, Pre season folkstyle national in Iowa and Usually 3 trips for a week to the Olympic training center, throw in about 6 Team Nelson Camps with Olympians, world team members a few Ncaa Champions and Coaches to round it off at our place. We have always made this available to everyone. Wayne County needs more freestyle /greco exposure!!!I think Louie's schedule is great for the team as a whole, those that want more see you in the summer! I know Louie started taking his crew to freestyle/ greco practice this summer! Any one wants info on this contact me!
Yes a get together would be a lot of fun! Wrestling is a cult, not many people into it, not many people support it even though its the hardest sport on earth. It would be great to get with like minded people who agree or disagree and have a few and break bread. We will even allow hoods if you feel more comfortable!LOL!
  • rtherthrwyathnknwya
Thanks for hammering the schedule point home. Your quality is forged in the off season, not the regular season. Marquee tourney's should test your abilities not be used to refine them. You don't want to be making changes on the fly during the season.

I feel a flip @ 119/125 would be a big help to the Bears....plus a Grier-Nelson match would be awesome! That's just the fan in me talking.

Good luck to all this weekend, and please give updates! I can't wait for the paper to come out and give lousy coverage. Thanks in advance.

What if the Bears Bump 112 though 135 up a weight class to mix things up? hmmm Them rascally Bears....Hey you woodchucks....Quit chuckin my dang wood!

EDIT: that was just a what if, in reality...its not gonna happen.
  • Red Rum
The only thing Beast chucks is PROPAGANDA!!!!!!!

Bears in 3rd behind Chipps--Oh brother!...next thing we'll hear is how the Bears are fighting to finish in the top half of the league!

I think you missed your calling, you should be selling whopper choppers on TV!! lol
  • falcon81
At this point in the season I believe a kid should stay at his weight class and be totally acclimated to his weight. If your healthy ..you play no Games with bumping. Its all about State preparation, State of mind and health.. Everyone good in the state will have a shot at you at your weight...thats where you will validate yourself! JMO!

Heard that Bryson Hall practices some at Medina on Sundays or at least did earlier in the year, supposedly Phillips is or was there also, and told Bryson the college he is going to, wants him to wrestle 160 this year at state. This might be a bunch of phoo phoo, but might explain why Hall hasen't dropped to 160??
