Pretty sure that has never been a thing. Unless conferences weren’t allowed more than 7 teams in the tournament lol.

But it’s always just been first round. They try and avoid it through 2 rounds, but favor location over matchup. And obviously can’t adjust seeds too much to avoid it.

Thinking less than 10 years ago with ridiculous Big East having like 16 teams

Columbus is such a great host for the games. Best arena, great area around NWA, just a great time.

Right, but that hasnt been possible for like 15 years. Or whenever the Big East put in 8 teams...and then the conferences became huge. Second round is brutal, but they wont alter seeds or location the way they used to just to avoid conference affiliation.

I thought Ohio State just getting into the tournament was a win for the program as far as experience goes, but last night's W over ISU was HUGE. It may be their only win of the tourney, but IMO, it can go a long way for the confidence of the kids coming back next season.

I think OSU can and probably will beat Houston. OSU won’t be able to beat a high scoring team, but that isn’t Houston. Houston can D up, but I think OSU can grind it out with them.

Bucks will have to play a near perfect game to beat them, but I agree. Especially if they can ride the high from yesterday.

Houston is really good. And has a really good, experienced coach. I’ll be pleasantly surprised if they can knock them off. I think Houston was under-seeded and should’ve been a 2.

Houston hasn’t looked quite as good since thrashing UC at UC. OSU will have to play really well again but they look pretty loose.

Not saying Houston isn't good..just saying it's a good matchup for OSU

Hasnt happened in a few games, at least the ones Ive watached, but the OSU scoring droughts have been bad this year. Houston can D up, as you mentioned, so that would be my one concern. Going like 10 minutes and only getting single digit points in that timeframe.

Of course, if they play defense like last night, they will be within striking distance regardless.

Either way...please knock out Kelvin Sampson for me.

What hasn't happened in a few games? All I said was it's a favorable matchup for OSU

LSU shooters have lost their touch against the Md zone in the 2nd half.  LSU has given up their halftime lead, which should have been bigger, due to clock mismanagement.

Skylar Mays gets  his shooting touch back and gives LSU a 3 point lead with 40 sec left.  Then Smith matches the trey from the corner to tie with 20 sec left.

Waters cavorts in the lane and lays one up for the win for LSU, thru the net with less than 2 sec left.

Very enjoyable game.  Hopefully that's a good omen for today.

The LSU clock management at the end of the 2nd half, getting the 2 for 1, was excellent as compared to just the opposite in letting Md get the 2 for 1 in the first half on two treys by Wiggins in the last minute to put up the last 6 points of the half for Md.

Am I correct that in the last minutes of the 2nd half they stop the clock when a made FG goes thru the net, but do not stop the clock in the first half?  By not doing it in the first half they create a loop hole for a perfectly managed shot at about 40 sec that goes thru the hoop and the other teams fools around with the ball long enough to get the game clock down around 30 sec so that when they do throw the ball in bounds, there won't be enough time for there to be a 2 for 1 for the team that executed perfectly!  Need to make both halves end the same way on clock timing.
