posted by BR1986FBGranted, Kizer doesn't have a ton of weapons but he freezes up in the red zone. Instead of throwing it away he will try to make something happen and throw a stupid pick or will try to extend a play and get sacked (see Chargers game with Bosa strip sack).
Not to hold a grudge but I'm still pissed off about the game last week. Crowell had 80+ yards rushing at the time and they tried a play action pass on 3rd & 1 when they were actually hammering the ball on the ground. I know, "delayed reaction" but I still can't get this stupid ass play calling by this staff out of my head.
What the fuck was this play call?

Just started following that guy on twitter. He seems to think (as do I) that Hue is a moron

Hue Jackson is a fucking imbecile.
Which I know it's early but assuming they clean house, any coaching candidate's on OC members radar?
posted by Commander of AwesomeThis was an excerpt from his MMQB today.
Man, Jimmy and Dee Haslam want to keep the front office and coaching staff for another year. They don’t want to blow it up again. But this iteration of the Browns is 1-27 with Green Bay and Baltimore at home, then Chicago and Pittsburgh on the road. My gut feeling is the Haslams will do something of either partial or complete deconstruction, and be miserable doing it.
FYI picture is a rip-off of the infamous Joe Bauserman passing chart at Nebraska.

Aware, but still funny

Haha, I commented on this thread during that play. Very important 3rd and 11 and you run a straight option out of the shotgun? LOL

Give me a young, offensive minded coach.
If they hire a John Fox type of coach, I'll lose my mind. If they hire a defensive-minded coach, i'll lose my mind.
All of the NFL teams that have turned it around have done so with young, offensive-minded coaches.
Two names I'd keep an eye on: Pep Hamilton and John DeFlippio. Wouldn't QQ to see either be our OC.

I wouldn't mind seeing them take a run at Frank Reich. He's not extremely young (56) but he's done wonders, working with Wentz, as the OC in Philly.
I said this earlier but one of the "hot" names, if not the hottest name, will be Pat Schurmur. Obviously we want no part of that but he's likely going to be a HC again.
I just want us to bring in John Dorsey, from KC to be GM.
This "Hue returning to Cincinnati if he's fired" stuff is continuing to gain some steam. I've heard 3 or 4 different national sources say he could replace Marvin or slip back into an OC role.
Now I don't like LaCanfora because he seems to take too much joy in the Browns misfortunes, but many times his sources are right. He said yesterday that he's been hearing that Hue could return to Cincy, in some role, "since August."
If this is in fact true, he should be released immediately, and give Sashi Brown a big hug for screwing up that AJ McCarron trade. Almost does look like Hue could've been setting up the Bengals for some nice draft picks if he were to be let go.
Sashi fired

Which I think, unfortunately, might mean that Hue may stay.
l would be good with this. Just take a qb with the first pick please.

Perhaps, but to assume that's the new normal as opposed to a cyclical phenomenon might be dangerous.
It's likely a pipe dream but 92.3 had Chris Spielman on the other day and they asked him about the possibility of prying his brother, Rick, who is the personeel guy in charge, from the Vikings to return home to NE Ohio. Spielman has done a helluva job in Minny and will likely be a candidate for NFL Executive of the Year. The Browns would have to offer him a promotion in title (president role).

Statement from Owner Jimmy Haslam:
“We have great appreciation and gratitude for Sashi’s commitment and leadership to our organization but believe transitioning to someone with strong experience and success in drafting and building consistently winning football teams is critical to the future of the Cleveland Browns. Today we informed Sashi that we were going in a new direction. The 2018 draft and offseason is pivotal for our franchise, we need to ensure that we maximize our opportunity for success; with our picks, free agency and building our roster. Hue Jackson will remain our coach and will return for the 2018 season but we feel it is necessary to take significant steps to strengthen our personnel department. We have begun the process of having productive conversations regarding leadership of our football operations and will provide further updates when appropriate. We thank Sashi for all his hard work and dedication to the Cleveland Browns.”

Fuck Haslam. You can't bring in a GM and force him to have Hue as the coach. No real GM candidate should/ would be willing to take that. Hopefully he's full of shit or that Hue has some sort of out clause and leaves on his own.
When it came out that Sashi leaves at 5pm on the dot daily, including the day of the trade deadline, there was no other option but he had to go. Hue shouldn't stay either though. New GM picks his coach.

When they said they were going to try and take a moneyball approach it wasmgoing to be 1of 2 things. ....revolutionize the game or crash and burn. Can the browns be the nfl version of the Astros in totally bottoming out and gathering a lot of talent? Looks like he won't be around to find out. But reallly.....this had to be done

Still not sure if that is true or not. Sashi said it wasn't.
Regardless, I agree. Both need to go. Sahsi had to go once he failed to trade for Jimmy G.
