And he's 1-31 as a HC. Shocking! /sarcasm

That one guys comment about "this is why they need Hard Knocks....if Jimmy sees this, he'll fire him" is pretty much bull. Haslam is frequently at these practices so I'm sure he sees this crap. It's the blind leading the blind/dumb & dumber.

I tihnk Hue is still here due to Jimmy's legal fees, and the fact that he's paying more than $30M to coaches/execs that dont work here anymore. Read on twitter that firing Hue would cost ol Jimmy $10M plus, plus he'd have to a give a fat new contract to a new coaching staff. Essentially ensuring that he'd be paying $50M for staff that no longer works here, plus a huge payout for a new staff. That coupled with FA, and the draft, roster bonuses  could easily push the bill to $200M of outgoing cash by May.  That's a bitter pill to swallow regardless, but factor in tight cash flow and less fans going to the game plus trying to get season ticket holders to shell out $$$ for a team that has won 4 games in last 3 seasons, well fuck.

I've seen some conspiracy theories that Haslam is intentionally sucking so there will be complete apathy and he'll have an excuse to move the team. Don't know that I buy into that but the front office, ownership & coaches sure don't seem to worried about winning.

This is by far the worst I've ever felt as a fan of the Browns about the organization. Dorsey and Green Bay guy, cool, everything else, disaster.

I agree. Though I really felt shitty under "Patty Schurmur", "Petty Pettine", and "Eric ManEGO".

Pat Schurmur was just a total fuck, constant 2 yd slants on 3rd and 8. Clueless. Least Hue will chuck it downfield.

Petty's defense was just abymal. DC was such a fuck head and he refused to move on from that idiot. Plus tag in shitty Farmer and Manziel/Gilbert pretty much sealed his fate.

Erica ManEGO - thought you could be devoid of talent and hardnose your ass to a win. Such a hard way to win. Stubborn as fuck as well and that fucking gift trade to the Jets....JFC.

With Hue -Yeah he's a fuckhead. And yes he abandons the run. But we also have Kizer who throws INTs all over the place (again sort of on Hue as well), but we have talent, young talent all over the place and a solid defense. If we get an OC in here that runs the ball, we stop turning the ball over at a 3 TO per game margin, get a rookie QB, and stop giving 15 yd cushions on def we can be a competitive 4-6 win team next season.

Those are all fixable issues here. Granted we're the browns so we'll fuck it up. But I'm more optimisitc about our roster than ever before outside of 2002/2007.

The funny part is that Schurmur is one of this offseason's hot candidates. He'll get another chance as a head coach and I bet he's successful this time.

Regardless of where they sit (draft picks, cap money, etc) I'm still not very optimistic. The pessimist in me says "we've seen this song and dance before." I won't believe it until I see it.

Does Dorsey look like he could be a good get? Sure, but there are always outside factors (HC has the owners ear, owner wants to get involved, etc, etc) so if there's a way they can screw this up, they'll find it.

Hue's likely going to want to bring in McCarron to be his guy. Will he convince the front office to pass on the top QB? Who knows but nothing will surprise me.

There’s literally two scenarios: we draft the  right QB at 1, and we are good for the next  10+ years. Or, we draft another bust at QB, and in 3 years we fire Dorsey and our coaches and start again.

Get the right QB and Dorsey will fill the holes around him. Don’t, and we’ll continue to suck.

But still have dipshit HC for a year, with a probable dipshit OC if Hue gets to pick. Future wise maybe I'm optimistic, but next year w Hue is another throw away year. He's fucking dumb, and nothing can change that.

Hope he has a crystal ball to pick the right one because pretty much every one of them have question marks. It will likely come down to Rosen and Darnold though. Don't want to hear any BS about Allen or Mayfield (MMQB already saying Dorsey "loves" Allen, etc). If he hitches his wagon to the latter two, he'll likely be gone.

Was having a discussion with my buddy earlier today about QBs that played well this season and the browns failed to get. Realized we were talking about 3 different guys and didn't realize it at first.

Carson Wentz

Jimmy G

Patrick Mahomes

SMFH

To illustrate S&L's point, get a QB and doresey keeps his job. Do some BS trade for Alex Smith/AJ McCarron and he'll be fired end of 2 seasons.

I don't necessarily agree with that Alex Smith part. If they trade for Smith, he's a short term stop gap and the guy they draft at #1 will likely be starting by week 8. If they get a younger guy like McCarron, we're screwed. Either way, they are going to need to get a veteran in here for the younger guy.

I'm still want to punch a kitten (you should all know I like cats, so I'm joking) every time I thing of them missing out on Jimmy G.

I’m not an expert so I don’t really care to give an opinion on who the best QB is. Just hope this regime does their homework (see:job) and picks the right one. Whether that’s Allen or baker or Rosen or darnold, I don’t know and I don’t really care. Just scout these fuckers and get a damn QB so we can stop going 2-14 every year.

My QB rankings at this time:

Baker Mayfield

Rosen

Darnold

Drew Lock

Mason Rudolph

Lamar Jackson

Josh Allen

Bold is Pro Bowl/Franchise potential

Italicized - Starter potential, but probably outside of top 10 QBs in the league

Rest backups

Pretty much this. Make the right pick. I have no idea who that is. Just make it for once and don’t puss out and trade back.

Rosen and Darnold just declared for the draft. We have our pick between the top 3, make the right fucking call Dorsey.

I’m not sure who does the prospect rankings on cbssports, but they have the same opinion as me with Lamar and Rudolph as the top 2 QBs.

Still consider Rosen & Darnold the likely "safest" picks among these QB's and even they have their warts. Even with that I'm leary of Darnold's turnover issues and Rosen's injuries.

Dorsey needs to hit a home run with this pick and I'll be surprised if he ties his wagon to higher risk QB's like Mayfield or Allen.

Allen has a very telling stat. In over 600 college pass attempts, his completion percentage is less than 57%, so it looks like there's accuracy issues. Historicially, QB's with similar college stats (600+ att, < 57% comp) were named Joey Harrington, Derek Anderson, etc, etc.

I'm very skeptical that Mayfield will measure 6 feet at the Combine. And although people can try to argue the "Drew Brees/Russell Wilson" argument, those guys were also not taken with the first overall pick in the draft. Wilson was a diamond in the rough and Brees plays much bigger (very long wingspan, like he's 6'5" at his release point) than he is. I'd have no issue taking Mayfield if it were lower in the draft but way too risky to burn the #1 overall on him.

Which puts me in a pickle because I'm sure you guys will say "you don't like any QB's", which in this draft at #1 overall, you're right. lol

Under no circumstance do I want Mayfield. That being said, I reiterate that I'd like to see Dorsey select Barkley at 1, and then draft either Darnold, Allen or Rosen at 4 (in that order). Again, jmo, but since there is no clear cut QB stud in this class, they might as well get the best RB available while rolling the dice with one of these three.

Brees also has elite accuracy and Russell Wilson has elite scrambling ability. Elite qualities allow them to overcome their stature. Mayfield doesnt have an elite quality and hes short. That's why I'm not high on him.
