This will maybe upset Laley but I cannot stand the Picture in Picture commercial and live play all in one. I hate it. You get nothing from the 40% golf screen and commercials are distracting. Like watching the good part of a movie and my wife decides it s time to sweep the carpet between my chair and the tv

It’s stupid. The alternative is an actual commercial though. So, what’s worse — 40% screen or 0%?

I’d rather the commercial break and come back snd show me what happened.

Scheffler had a big putt on the back 9 and had he made it (which you could hardly see) it would’ve been a big moment and why I watch these tournaments but instead some annoying commercial was the voice.

I know there is a reason they do it….but I cannot name a single commercial in all of those Picture in Picture times throughout the day.

Just my opinion. I’ll never stop watching.

Made two entries in a pool for The Players - pick one guy from each of 6 tiers based on world rankings, at least 4 have to make the cut.

What is/are the Eagle hole(s) at TPC Sawgrass? 2 and16? Those look least treacherous.

Also, doubt we see any Hole in Ones today on 17 with that hole location.

Dumb question maybe...

How do the players decide what is a gimme and what isn't?

Watching Finau/Meronk right now and announcers just made a comment about not making him putt that...but Meronk proceeded to mark ball and is going to putt it. (he actually just ended up missing the putt)

Meanwhile, Finau, was standing well far away - and I didn't see him say anything.

So how does this work exactly? Lol

If the opposing player concedes the putt, then it is good.  The player getting the concession can have the option of putting it (for practice) if he so desires, I believe, and may say so to the other player.

Playing partner can concede the hole at any time. They can give the other player a put finishing his score on the hole as well. It is "poor form" to putt out a given putt, however. As for the distance, a lot of that will come down to what the match status is. If you need to win a bunch of holes, you probably aren't giving a 4' putt, and opponent shouldn't expect it. Early on, probably they give you that. Its also a cat and mouse game -- dont let them hit those putts early, they may miss them later with nerves. 

The really interesting part is when they miss a putt and immediiately pick up the ball in disgust, but the opponent hasnt had the chance to give it, so by rule, they lose the hole. 

How can Will Z be on the tour this long, and still not have a putting coach. He is so fucking terrible.

Been that way for so long. Its cost him so many wins. 

He missed 3 putts inside 4' today. And another like 7 from inside 15'. Got destroyed in Match Play and is eliminated.

Burns knocked it a foot away from 90 yards to win the quarterfinal and Scheffler just missed a hole in one by 2 inches to win his quarterfinal….birdied 5 of last 6 holes

Cam Young quite unlucky on #19…had a no shot in edge of bunker and had to chip out. Rory hit virtually same tee shot and got a flat lie right beside the bunker….no issue 

Scheffler misses a 4 footer on #20 and the match continues

And Young nails a shot and somehow gets up and down from a mile away…Rory got a little cute and needs a 12 footer to extend the match
