Stupid stupid stupidity to make that comment.

Woooow.

I wish the mic wouldā€™ve been earlier as there is no specification at all about who he is talking about. Watch him get a slap on the wrist and give a ā€œSINCEREā€ apology and he just says heā€™s sorry for his insensitive choice of words.

Thereā€™s no way they canā€™t fire him

Lol he is definitely gone. Thank god too, heā€™s fucking terrible.

That would make Reds games more tolerable to listen to. By about 675%.

Yeah....they have to or sponsors will drop everything.

To even speak that way off the air or anywhere is just pretty damn neanderthal

Heā€™ll need forgiven by that community if he ever hopes to work in the industry again. Not sure what that would take. Several other sincere apologies, insensitivity classes, Maybe educational classes completed on the topic and then maybe a significant fundraiser/scholarship type thing showing his remorse and willingness to try and make it right.

Doubtful we see or hear him again on anything professional/D1 college.

Some  things you canā€™t say.

Lol he called a home run mid-apology. Know nothing about him but that was so awkward.

Also love that the HR landing in an area with a sign that said "Judgement-free Zone."

Even without the home run it was awkward. I know you need to get out in front of this but it was like 20 minutes after the fact? And heā€™s trying to act like he didnā€™t mean it. Idk, the apologies do nothing for me. He clearly thinks itā€™s okay to talk that way. Heā€™s not sorry about it, heā€™s sorry he was careless about it. Itā€™s fake and pointless to act like youā€™re sorry about it.

Hahaha that was so painful

And off the judgment free zone sign. Unreal

Also saw someone say ā€œcastellanos should have taken the pitch during the on air apllogy, itā€™s an unwritten rule.ā€

Why the fuck are they trying to do the apology while simultaneously showing the game anyways. Would it have been that difficult to skip a commercial or two and do it then?

I've seen a few comments saying Jim Day and Chris Welsh should also be fired because Thom was comfortable enough saying it in front of them.

Yeah, I thought it was a silly take.

Does anyone actually believe this is the first time he's said that at work? Like you just tossed it out there in front of colleagues to see their reaction this one time? Now imagine how he speaks at home or with friends and family. Smh.

Oh and I'm not saying his colleagues should be punished. I was typing my comment before anyone said that.

What are they supposed to do? Beat him up?

Thom is comfortable because heā€™s arrogant and felt untouchable ....heā€™s down a few notches at the moment Iā€™d guess though.

The take on Welsh and Day is todayā€™s day and age of off the chart grasping
