having only watched the trailer and not heard much about it, is this based on a true story?

As stated, no. Just based on real life captives being kept in cellars and dungeons etc. Then, the aftermath they go through when and if rescued.

Dude looks like he could be the father of someone who's 38.

I watched room last night. I thought the boy did a better job of acting than Brie Larson. (And he had to be good to make it work) The movie was definitely intense and dealt with some terrible issues about what life is like after. I want to say it was good, but I still have a terrible feeling left over from watching it. I can't imagine being a parent in that situation. (Either Brie's character or her character's parents)

Christopher Robin was very good. A little slow to start, but overall I really enjoyed it.

Christopher Robin 9/10...not kidding.

Anyone who ever read Winnie the Pooh books as a kid, liked the cartoons/movie/etc absolutely needs to see this movie. It was really, really good.

Has anyone here mentioned the Oscars added a popularity category? LOL

I like how they said that was because ratings dropped—that people were tired of seeing “academy” movies and not popular movies.

Uhh, no. Ratings are down because the entire show is about politics and SJW movements and people don’t want to hear that shit when watching a show about best movies of the year.

I concur.

Congrats. It only took you until 9 August to say something correct on the OC

Christopher Robin.  Really pulls the heart strings.  Makes you long for days of no responsibilities, miss your childhood, miss your innocence.  Makes you pray that your kids don't grow too fast, and enjoy and cherish the same things for which you are longing.  9/10.

Crazy Rich Asians gets a 5.7 for me.  I don't understand the hype at all.  Just an average romcom.

Fucking love that movie.  Denzel and Clive are both fantastic, as is Jodi Foster.

I am with you here. Took my wife to see it because she thinks McCarthey (sp?) is hilarious. Best I can give is a 3.5/10. Had some really funny parts, but overall dumb movie.

So, I only covered my eyes 3 times, which is good.

Pretty entertaining.

Jason Statham is the man's man.

I enjoyed Rainn Wilson's character very much.

I will give it 6/10.
