Not buying that.

The only thing we know for sure is the Russians lie about everything.

Russia has created generational hatred for them in the east and south.  Evan among the ethnic Russians and Russian speakers.  Look what they have done to these people in Kharkiv and Mariupol.

It appears a Ukrainian missile just scored a direct hit on an arms depot in western Russia around the city of Belgorod.  You can hear the ammo cooking off.

Go back and look.  I posted weeks ago that this was the outcome.  Russia wants that Eastern bank of Ukraine for multiple reasons.  They want the buffer zone from UN nations and they want the resources in that region including access to the Black sea.

You should just quit your job and take this insight to a larger platform.

We’ll even help out by forgetting on the rising cost thread where he said enjoy gas prices at $4.09 because they’d be much higher in the next week or two.

The Russians have reportedly withdrawn from Chernobyl.  Apparently many of the Russian soldiers were showing signs of acute radiation sickness and getting panicked.   If true they were digging trenches in the red forest one has to wonder about the competence level in the Russian military.  Of course if I am a Ukrainian being held at gun point who worked at the facility I just keep my mouth shut.

I read Midnight in Chernobyl a couple of years ago.  My biggest takeaway is that I don't ever want to be anywhere near that place.  So I can understand those Russians wanting the hell out.  I can't understand why they were so insistent on taking it in the first place since it is not an operating nuclear power facility.

And you have these Russian generals being killed at a rate not seen since WWII.  Supposedly 7 in a month along with over a dozen other senior officers.  A week ago NATO was estimating 7,000 to 15,000 killed and 30,000 to 40,000 total Russian casualties.  These are astounding numbers even on the low end.  If remotely accurate the Russians have really shit the bed.

How about these two Ukrainian helicopters sneaking into Russia and blowing up part of an oil depot.

The victory day parade is coming up next month in Russia, I wonder how that is going to go over.

Early today, I was on my Yahoo page (cuz email) and the top news story was about how Russia's biggest blunder is that their military central making the decisions is in Moscow and not on the ground.

First thing I thought was how stupid that makes Putin look. You're starting and fighting a war, yet all the decisions are being made really far from any point of conflict by people who aren't there.

Second thing I thought was how stupid that makes whatever media dude who came up with the idea to write the story look. Great idea, dude! Tell the invading country whom we're opposed to just what they're doing wrong. While I wouldn't have any idea whether a Putin-type would ever take some random article and alter his plans based on it, I'm pretty sure that handing out free military advice just in case is not the best of ideas.

Guys like Putin typically do not have strong critical minds around them.  They are a considered a threat instead of an asset so they are purged.  It is the same sentiment that generates the cancel culture.

I'm sure Putin thought he could decapitate the Ukrainian government in less than a week.  He has surrounded himself with yes-men and there is no critical media that allows open public discourse.  We all get a laugh out of the kids demanding a "safe space" this is what can happen when one of them gets their hands on the reigns of power.

I watched a Bret Bair interview with Zelensky today.  He directly asked him if he ordered the attack on the depot.  I am going by memory but the gist of it was he can not comment on any orders he gives to his military.  Then a subtle comment that there are areas in Russia being used to directly launch and support attacks in Ukraine.

These types of authoritarian regimes require top down rule.  They do not trust NCO types with delegated authority they fear them having this type of power.  It is interesting how average guys get this.  Sometimes it may be as simple as eliminating the gray haired dude surrounded by antennas.

Russian military culture is quite different than ours.  Failure ruins your career, your family, or ends your life.  This is why you have so many Russian generals at the front.  Look at the botched withdrawal from Afghanistan has any general been fired?  In Russia you slug some vodka pull out your side arm and stick it in your mouth.

As for your comment on the media giving away truth you are right Putin-types will take no heed.  They live in a "safe space" propaganda bubble.  There is no critical media in Russia.  They count on their people to swallow the Kool-Aid the state media propagates.  They are not even allowed to use the word "war".

It's clear now an evil force is again at work in Europe.  The evil is revealed now as the Russians are forced back around Kyiv.  The atrocities are far worse and continuing in the southeast where they are still hidden.  What world leader could now shake hands with Putin?

The Ukrainians are not like the Afghans and Iraqis that shit the bed when primitive goons like the taliban and isis show up.  They are up against a modern and powerful military force.  They fight with whatever means they have.  Women baked the Orcs a special treat.  Pastries filled with poison.

No foreign army needs to set foot on the ground.  Give them what they need.

It seems like everyday another close confidante of Putin is suffering another misfortune.  Today a top general engaged in planning the invasion had a heart attack from "unnatural causes".  If Comrade Putin wants to see you in his office, that is a bad thing.

That is the Russian defense minister that suddenly developed "heart problems" after things went to shit in Ukraine.  Apparently he has finally had the "big one".

The Russians have finally admitted their Black Sea flagship missile cruiser has sunk.  Or in Russian assumed a "special submarine mission".  With a crew of over 500 likely hundreds of casualties.  Russian ships in the Black Sea fleeing south out of range.  Apparently the Moskva has been following a predictable pattern and was distracted by drones and hit with two anti-ship missiles.

So it looks like this Russian ship was struck by one or two missiles it immediately suffered a catastrophic secondary explosion of ammunition, rolled on its side and within a couple of hours after being struck was at the bottom of the Black Sea.

It begs the question why do the Russians instinctively lie to their people before they know the facts?  Or maybe they know them?  I get it all governments lie. But why such bold lies?  A fire and the crew were evacuated.  She is being towed into port.  What purpose does it serve to give relatives false hope all the while their loved one is entombed at the bottom of the Black Sea.
