I heard they are forced to use the roads because the ground is too soft.  If true, that's a really really bad military decision.

Not just that but If your tanks can't move on soft ground they pretty much suck.

If half the shit we have seen is true with this war, have drastically overestimated Russian military prowess for decades.

Some of the shit they are doing is just baffling. I just saw their third general was killed. (If true) generals are not supposed to be getting killed during wars.

They are a joke.  Putin’s strategy and his military have proven pathetic.

Biden’s far from perfect, but I think he’s doing a pretty good job with this.  He sees Putin for what he is unlike his predecessor who got played by Putin and became his useful idiot.

I don't have a problem with how Biden is handling the current situation in Ukraine.  What I do have a problem with is how he is using it to cover himself domestically.  Shameless and disgusting.  #PutinPriceHike.

Russia is not going to use nukes.  It's a scare tactic meant to get the West to wet themselves.  That would only occur if Russia itself faced imminent destruction.

I don't think he'll use them. I guess I meant that more as in that's the only way his army is going to beat anyone.

Some of the gear I've seen that the Russian soldiers are using (helmets, gas masks, etc) are straight out of the 1950's.

The idea that the US and the UN have handled this well is a joke.  Putin was planning this for years.  He was moving pieces around right in front of the world for months and Biden was saying for over a month that ....."Well Russia is going to attack".

What did the UN or US do for that month?  Nothing.

So Putin attacks and then we put on "sanctions" and pulled their facebook pages only after a month of them killing children.

All those sanctions could have been put on beforehand.

The driving factor in all this is not some government body.  It is people who want to be free.  People who would rather die than be subjugated.  How bad do you want it to send your wife and young children to safety to fight off these bastards knowing you likely will not see them again.  If you are counting on governments to not fuck things up you are going to be dissapointed 99% of the time by those selfish pricks.

Oh fuck,  NATO countries are in serious trouble now.  The inability for the US and NATO to do anything to stop Russia just let all these other regimes to do whatever they fucking want.

Now WWIII is going to start

I hope you run for office someday.  Your ability to combine deep historical and geopolitical expertises, and to then distill it down to its essence in a way the rest of us can understand is remarkable.  But then to take that valuable knowledge and properly apply it in order to see the correct action every time- well I just find it amazing.  We’re lucky to be living in your time.

Can you imagine the heads that would explode if President Biden sent Ambassador Trump to negotiate a peace deal with Putin?

I read US intelligence is giving a "conservative" estimate of over 7,000 Russian troops killed and 14,000 to 21,000 wounded.  If true those are staggering losses in 3 weeks.  Not to mention equipment.  I read in the Russian far east it takes two weeks to get bodies home.  No way Putin can keep a lid on these losses for much longer.

something big is developing in Russia this morning. bunch of PJ's leaving Moscow going to Dubai and several Special Air Force planes leaving Moscow to destinations in the Ural mountains.

Double that. 6000 deployed and tactical and the rest in storage, reserve.

We also have around that many deployed and tactical.

I'm not one to believe that number yet as if so it is kind of hard to hide that many losses at home.

I doubt even half of the dead have been returned to their hometown.  Most of those who got cargo 200 are likely still getting processed in Belarus or just across the Russian border.  The rest are dog food or cremated in their armoured vehicles.
