I’ve ignored all weather forecasts from all apps, sites, forecasters for a while. 2 Thursday’s ago we were being called for 6-9 inches for the previous 5 days of forecasts by numerous outlets. Next morning woke up to a spitting snow and 0 inches….I was pissed the first few hours of school lol.
I’m 60 miles south of that so whatever it is, it is. I’ll plan on 5 days of school. Any days off or delays will be a bonus.
That’s typically how I view it, too. But I think to predict up to 15 inches, even if they’re off a bit, we’re still in for a decent amount.
Weather.com has no shame predicting amounts days out. The local guys will basically wait til the day before then give a range of “could be 1-3 inches here, could be 2-4 inches north, could be just a dusting down south, who knows” forecast.

i'd like to have the daily updated forecasts captured here. I suspect there is a bit of fear mongering with these forecasts.
for instance.
Sunday morning the forecast for me in Pittsburgh was 8-12" Thursday into Friday.
Sunday evening the forecast was for 5-9".
Monday morning the forecast was for 0.75" rain and then 3-5" snow

I survived the harsh cold winter (Friday night/Saturday morning) here in Florida. We will rebuild.
I saw you were down into the low 20s or near there. That had to be scary.

We contemplated community bonfires, where we roasted our family pets for food. I still don't know how we survived.
In Dallas and we’re talking about this for Wednesday/Thursday

So at Work today we had 2 zoom meetings and they went out and bought me a laptop so I can work from home because Dallas might get 1-3” of snow and ice.

Just got back from a week in Los Angeles. 72-73 or so during the day, 48-50 at night.
Was a nice change for sure.
It’s a nice place to visit for the weather.

Total after the storm rolled through:
1.15" rain.
MAYBE 0.2" ice
.75" snow (it's nearly done snowing so it may grow)

Also, my kids have been remote for the last 2 days. yesterday they certainly could've gone without issue and today if the roads are as good elsewhere as they are in my township, they could've gone with a 2 hour delay.

In Texas we got 1/2 of inch and an inch of snow. I’ve seen 3-4 cars driving in the past two days. We all just stay inside and wait for it to melt.
