We got probably 10” - western suburb of Cleveland. Snow blowing today was awesome.
I got my hair cut yesterday morning. On the drive up I was able to go 55 on the highway. On the way back it was 20-25 and someone going to other direction lost control and was mangled up with a big road sign. It escalated quickly.
Forecast was about 6-8 inches near Delaware. We ended up with about 4-5 inches, but more ice underneath it.
I didn't venture out in it, but roads did not look fun.
Dog loved it today and she ran her butt off in the yard.
Went out tonight to pick up dinner and most of the roads were still shit.
Snowing hard again in Cleveland. Huge fat flakes.
East side of Cincinnati. Roads still aren't great. Most local businesses closed Thursday and Friday.
Late Friday on I-270 Outerbelt in Columbus, still only one lane totally clear on south and east side. Folks driving 25 mph on clear pavement
At my house, used a garden spade with a flat edge to lift up the compacted ice and clear the walkway from our porch.. Wore me out. Wife was inside making sure my life insurance was paid up, and looking to see if I'd dropped yet.

Last year down this way my son and I shared that same garden spade and worked our asses off…..this year though the way it compacted that same spade isn’t working nearly as well so I’ll just be waiting on the sun.

Bump.
Everyone ready for arctic air? Going to be 41 degrees when I go into work tonight and -2 when I leave in the morning. Wild. Can’t wait.
I just don’t want to lose electricity. Hopefully no one does.
And if people do lose power….those electric workers are heroes out in this upcoming weather.
If the cars start and I can watch tv…pretty much vacation.

Agreed.
Was listening to the local station and they said they expect the Browns games to be the most viewed at home game of the year, with tons of empty seats. I know a few fools going but I'd heard 60 mph winds with -10 wind chill for the game.
Last I saw Chicago was going to be the coldest at kickoff, slightly worse than Cleveland.
Think guys will still be out “warming up” with their shirts off? Or will it finally be too cold for that.

Shirts will be off
It's currently 51 degrees here. Hope that helps.

Njoku, for the Browns, has said "nothing will change....shirt's off pregame."

Think I saw Njoku said he doesn’t feel anything on game day so he was gonna stay shirtless.
I went to a game, I think vs. cincy in 08, and it was so cold our beer froze in the bed of the truck. Wanna say at least -10 windchill. It was miserable, you couldn’t pay me to go sit in that again unless they were actually good, which is unlikely.

There is no sporting event - or any other type of event - that I would attend in weather like this. Maybe 30 years ago, but not presently.

Imagine getting on a plane in 85 degree weather and landing 3 hours later at -15. Happened to an aunt and uncle of mine a few years back.
So far we've gotten an inch to two of snow but the wind is brutal. Dog keeps wanting to climb up in my lap out of fear.
I've noticed how, consistent with pretty much all other media, that weather gets sensationally overhyped every time there's an above average event. Every storm is "the worst in a generation", ignoring that you said the exact same thing about a more severe storm just a few years ago.
I mean, can't even trust weather reports any more. I guess, more accurately, they sensationalism starts days/weeks ahead of time gleefully hoping for that once in a century storm, and then the dice just never roll that way.

Can't disagree. That being said, this is the worst combination of cold, snow, and wind I can remember in Columbus since the '77 blizzard. But they've been crying wolf so often you're not quite prepared when he actually shows up!
Woke at 5 AM because of the howling outside. Left for work 30 mins early, freeway treacherous. Then I get stuck in a drift right at the keycard reader to open parking lot gate. Had to call my boss to come out and shovel me free. Walking from there to the door was brutal.
I can deal with a temp of zero, but not with 30 mph winds.
Feels like -29 is as low as I can remember
Started work at about 8am and it was 1 degree. Two hours later it's -2.
