Started ‘Black Bird’ on AppleTV and really like it. There’s only two episodes out at the moment but they were good.

The question is why would she do that?

I thought, outside chance, WitSec but that's off the table after tonight's episode.

Although, to your point, while I think that's really weak [story-wise] it's plausible and would make sense.

I think Jimmy talks her into it.

But I do agree with you. It’s weak writing. I just also think it’s the only thing that makes sense as far as Saul going on. I think her dying would push him over the edge. I think he’d be able to go on and practice law in breaking bad knowing she’s safe somewhere. I don’t think he could go on if she were killed.

Finally finished season 3 and started season 4 in my rewatch of Ozarks.

The last two Saul's have been masterpieces. Breaking Bad level.

They have been.

That said, not a big fan.  I feel like the series could have easily been condensed into 2 seasons.  I said early in S1 that it was an indulgent, slow burn that would never have happened if not for Breaking Bad.

Animal Kingdom, one of my favorites. Couple episodes behind.

Old Man, just finished episode two and like it.

Black Bird. My favorite show right now. Love it.

On deck: The Bear on Hulu and/or Lincoln Lawyer on Netflix

It felt somewhat disappointing but also a bit masterful 🤷🏻‍♂️

Agreed. One very important moment felt rushed and kind of anti-climatic or the ending could have been much better.  Otherwise, I suppose it was intended to make us a bit mad.

The end of Saul last night was perfection. Really, really, really good way to end it.

Watched first episode of The Rehearsal on HBO last night. Idk what the word to describe it was. Entertaining for sure but definitely awkward. The second episode is a little different but more of the same. Looking forward to watching the rest today and tomorrow.

Yep, don't care what it's about. If the folks who did Dark made it it's going to be a banger. I bet it ties into Dark, as well.

I think its about immigrants on their way to america in a boat and their struggle to survive, this is the first i saw of the sci/fi bermuda triangle angle.

Rings of Power on Amazon is really good so far. They've really captured the magic of Lord of the Rings.

4 episodes out so far.  Kind of annoyed to learn there's only 8 episodes in S1, but they waste little time in getting going.

My only issue with Rings of Power is i think the guy portraying Elrond looks a little like Neil Patrick Harris and it's distracting.

I'm not quite sure what his role is, but he does look a little young for a supposed leadership position.  I realize Elves don't really age, but you get the point.

And it doesn't bother me, but a bit too much woke/diversity casting.  That world is all small villages that distrust outsiders, and very "speciest".  It just seems out of place to see a few token black elves or dwarves.  They should have just cast one of the realms of man as all black, and maybe another all asian.  Especially if your goal is to create opportunities for BIPOC actors.

Finished The Terror. Or at least the season I cared to watch, as they did a second season that was totally original and not based on the first season or the book it was based on.

Like the novel it was based on, it takes the real life incident in the 1800s of a failed British attempt to find the Northwest Passage that failed due to the two big-ass ships involved getting stranded in ice for a few years. Everyone on board came up missing, although I think it has been determined that at least a handful of men survived and integrated into the local Inuit population. The book and 10-episode show (originally on AMC, with Hulu having the rights to it, I think) take the hardships that were faced (or likely/possibly faced) by the men, such as scurvy, lead poisoning due to improperly sealed tins of food and mutiny and added a demonic bear-like spirit that was the guardian of the Inuit tribe and didn't take kindly to trespassers, especially when said trespassers would accidentally kill the tribe shaman and then intentionally kill a few others.

Really well made and definitely a good, downbeat watch where nearly every character of any importance wound up dead from one thing or another.

Been working my way through The Expanse. Currently about halfway through the second season and really digging it. Usually don't get into sci-fi stuff (unless it's pure horror/sci-fi), but this is more "political intrigue and warfare in space" and less "let's see what the costuming department can come up with for wacky alien race #3594068" -- with the one alien being something so alien that no one understands much more about it other than how it's really good at assimilating stuff it comes into contact with.
