Coronavirus

I saw a clip of someone, not sure which news outlet, asking Trump why we don't shut down literally everything for a few weeks. No grocery stores, nothing.

A few week shutdown of everything would lead to violence. Lots of violence.

This has been a very accurate website for projections (Saturday and Sunday always lag behind so projections will go up a little on Tuesdays)

Just saw you posted this over here. I think this does a good job, when sorting by state, of illustrating which states got ahead of it early. NY is fucked now, and Florida will be in a few weeks. Other states like Ohio, Colorado, Kentucky look promising.

You think 70% of the population has this thing or is going to have it?

No, I told corona to GTFO in Italy, as I92 said, and it's starting to work.

So to rank them..

I believe in this order:

We can just kindly ask corona to go away

we can pray to Jesus to have him make it go away

the US has 250mm people with corona

Golf back in Mid-June (presumably, if possible). No Open Championship, but a loaded 5 months for the golf schedule with everything else rearranged. Masters in November.

Where’s the schedule?

  • Memorial - Mid-June
  • PGA August 6
  • FedEx following in August/September
  • Us Open September 17
  • Ryder Cup September 25
  • Masters November 9

Still debating exact dates or if they will have FedEx Cup. May keep scheduled tournaments or move some others to those slots. WGC St Jude, The RBC, etc may happen in their slots, or other tournaments moved to them (but weather at parts of country play a factor then).

Players canceled completely. US Open likely to be moved to West Coast (Torrey or Pebble) for daylight and 2 course availability. Inverness was talked about as emergency backup, since Winged Foot is 95% done, but not enough daylight and only 1 course for a big field.

Open Championship elected to cancel and collect their insurance policy, since there is still no guarantee it happens, which they had to do by tomorrow.

3599 cases for the day out of Italy.  The first time Italy has seen below 4K cases since they went to a full national lockdown 4 weeks ago.

Damn. In 2 days we'll probably surpass "just the flu" total of 12k from H1N1.

I'm seeing that's it's a precaution IN CASE he needs a ventilator. Still conscious as of now.
