Anyone have any experience with CAO Brazilia Gol cigars? Thinking of picking up a 10-pack, hoping my brother-in-law will split them with me.
One of the first cigars I ever smoked. It's fine. Probably the best of the CAO global editions. The Italia is good too.
Don't waste your time on an Americana, though. Tastes like someone picked you up a Phillies stick at the local gas station. Okay, that's a little extreme, but I really didn't like it. Felt the same way about the Gurkha Ghost.

Just ordered a bunch more. Splitting the 10-pack of CAO Brazilian Gol with my BIL. Ordered 2 of the Camacho 6-pack samplers (one for him) and a 5-pack of Oliva G Toros for free ($20 off $100 order, they were $19).
So in the last 2 days I've added 27 sticks to my collection.

The Italia is one of my 'go to' cigars. The first one I ever tasted 'A' ' flavor in back in 2007ish. A little nuttiness in it.
I know Rick Rodriguez personally, I actually have his phone number. Oh he's the Master Blender for CAO that developes their cigars. Justin I can send you pics with My Wife and him...he likes her more than he likes me...lol.

Just finished a Vicarias Black now smoking an EP Carrillo Rebel. It was recommend to me by the Asst. Mgr. in Jungle Jim's Cigars. It does not disppont. Nice high medium to full body cigar. Hanging out at Jungle Jim's Summer Bash listening to a band. Might be having a Crowned Heads Juarez next. It just came on the market recently.

Mondays and Tuesdays are long work days for me (14-18 hours apiece), but I stole away for an Ave Maria Immaculata and a nice Speyside.

It's Rocky Patel night at cigars. Don't think I'll be buying any tonight.

So.....hole punch or cut?
Keeping my cigars around 72% I'm finding the hole punch is sometimes a bit of a tough draw, but the cut has been fine.
I like both, but a cut has been giving me better luck lately.
Enjoying a Camacho triple Maduro now. Strong stick.

my humidor is officially empty. was going to buy some more but had a corn bill and bought a new treestand, so it'll have to wait for another couple weeks.
in my defense, i'm growing some pure toads and plan on taking 1 or 2 this year. (i tried to upload pictures but i don't know how)

If you're good about keeping your humidity up, I prefer a cut (actually, my favorite is a V-cut or an X-cut).
However, I've noticed that if the cigars are even a little dry, the risk of cracking seems much greater using a cutter instead of a punch, so I do always keep a couple punch cutters on hand.
Enjoyed an Alec Bradley Black Market Vandal last night. I used to be a little snobby against his brand (stupid purist nonsense, mostly), but his stuff has grown on me. This is a great cigar.

i'm big on the punch. somewhat because my humidor is so spotty, but also because i like the little added drag i get from it.

Yeah, I feel that. You should try a V-cut, too. Same result, but a better draw if you've got a particularly tightly-rolled cigar.
Obviously, the downside to a punch cutter is that there are some cigar shapes it doesn't work on (torpedo, for example).
One I haven't tried yet, but I've seen, is the razor cutter. It literally makes like six notches without actually cutting off any of the cap. Almost like "gills" in the cap of the cigar.
Seems like it'd cut down on tarring, cracking, and debris.

I use both. Just depends. You can get more tar buildup with the punch from my experience, but I don't mind that. Added flavor ??? Lol.
Didn't win anything last night. I was one ticket off from winning the grand prize. The person who bought a 3 pack of cigars before me won. It was only a $75.00 Credit at the Eastgate Jungle Jim's. Plus bonus raffle tickets for their Cigar night.

If your pot is black you might need to find a new dealer.

Picked up a couple Leaf by Oscar sticks at a local shop today. A Connecticut robusto and a Corojo Toro. Finishing up the Connecticut right now, it's an excellent cigar. Highly recommend it.
