LOL

It was coffee.

Yikes. I get it now. I did not read it that way the first time around.

I have not yet stepped up to and tried coffee with cigars....just tough for me to fire up a stogie in the morning.

The pairing makes perfect sense to me, especially given my cigar preferences.  But, you know, after 20 years I still can't make consistently great coffee.

I don't do early morning smokes, but a nice, late-morning one is solid for a day off.

Also, my coffee is just okay, but it still works.

All good.  I tried to post a picture, but it kept hanging.

I understand the profile of most cigars changes as you smoke it.....but why do so many of my short/robustos not taste like their big brothers?

My plan was to do all ~4.5" robustos, because 1-to-2 of those is perfect for most occasions.  But I'm finding, more often than not, it's just an inferior smoke.  I understand the sweet spot would be smaller, but it's not non-existent.

Nice Olivia torpedo tonight.  I'd rank it up there with the RP and Partagas as one I'd buy again.  Seriously, so far those are the only 3 I'll stock in my humidor.

I really want to try this.  But I've just never had the urge to fire up a stick in the morning, even late morning.  Coffee with a cigar is just like scotch/whiskey, and I think probably even more complimentary.

Just haven't been able to bust out of the "late night" cigar routine....until I do, coffee pairing won't happen.

big layoff supposedly happening today. If it happens, i'm going to run to my local shop and grab a good stick (either to celebrate, or comiserate) what's a good suggestion for such occasion.

If you ever get the wild hair to try it, start with a smooth, mild cigar.  I tend to like those better in the mor ING or early afternoon than the evening.

We talking if you get laid off, or if you don't?

My buddy works as a welder all over the country (and occasionally outside it), so he's sometimes gone for weeks or months at a time.  He just got back into town the other day, so last night, we had a couple Opus X sticks he'd brought from the DR after his most recent gig.

Just found out this morning that my contract won't be renewed with my current company, so I have until the 15th to find a new job.  I'm going to be enjoying something with Scotch tonight.  Not sure what yet, but it's happening.

Almost forgot that i stumbled upon this thing this weekend. Club Leaf and Bean, It's a cigar club right by the house. Member's only, I'm trying to get an invite to this thing. I literally just noticed it this weekend and i've driven past it about 100 times.

If it's to celebrate, go with something smooth and long-lasting, like an Ashton Cabinet #1.  Great for when you don't want the celebration to end (it's a 9-inch cigar, and pretty good).

If it's to commiserate, go with something short and spicy, like a Gurkha Doble Maduro (El Gordo?).  The spice and burliness will match your mood.

I just went out on the back deck and worked for the last hour or so.  Drank a beer and had a cigar I've been aging for seven years.  The last cigar that I'd been aging, in fact: a Camacho Liberty 2011.

Keeping the coffin for it.  Seems like a handy little box for pens or something.

Feeling just the littlest bit of apathy toward my work over the next fourish weeks, thanks to this morning's news.

Actually, that club leaf and bean i linked has a retail store just north of my house. I went there and bull shitted with the guy who runs the club and the store, he steered me towards a Leaf by Oscar corojo. very beautiful cigar.

I've got one sitting in the humidor. Had a Leaf by Oscar Connecticut and it was awesome.

Just had a Montecristo Platinum Series. Not too bad. Little airy draw, so it burned pretty quick. Not one I'd buy again, but I'm not really in Montecristos. That's was in the bag at the Jungle's smoke event.

Next up is an Oliva V Melanio. Had this one before and it's a great smoke.

Hanging out at one of my Cigar Buddies house for a cook out. I brought some cigars with me. He went to his humidor to get a stick. We both ended up smoking the same cigar with out saying what we were going to smoke. Juarez from Crowned Heads. This is not the first time we've done this. We must be true Bothers Of The Leaf or Soulmates.

It's a good smoke though. Goes great with the Oak & Eden Bourbon.

I was the big winner last night as I won the only box of cigars in the raffle. PDR A. Flores AFR-75 San Andres Maduro. Gave about 10-12 of them away to some friends.

Tonight it was a Vicarias Black first. Now smoking a CAO Flathead 660. I've always liked this stick since it first came out. Ricky Rodriguez did a nice job on this one.

I feel like Darby by keep posting on this thread without others posting between my posts.

Had the PDR AFK-75 Thursday at cigar nite. That sumbitch lasted from 5:15 until 8:00. Nice smoke. That's the one I won a box of 24 a few weeks ago. Now I'm sad that I gave so many away that night. Still have about 4 or 5 of them left though.

They are saying that the new cigar lounge, at Jungle Jim's, will be done in November. Hoping to see Justincredible there since Golf Season will be over by then. It's going to be called Oscar Station. A play off the Oscar Event Center which is where we currently herf.

Damn, that's a hell of a smoke.

I'll definitely make it up on a Thursday soon. I can't this Thursday, but maybe the next one.
