Breastfeeding

Manly topic. How many of you were breastfed?

Thoughts on it now when you see it in public? Should be fairly discreet? Pick the right place...not just anywhere?

Our local pool in town asked a young mom to please cover up a bit and the world nearly ended. It was insane. Lol

Personally, if it was my wife I’d prefer not just anywhere and a bit discreet. We have a few parents in school that seem to enjoy the attention and like to make it into a scene where you least expect it when there are numerous good places for that.

I was breastfed. I think a woman should be able to feed her child anywhere she wants to. I plan to use a cover, but it does not bother me when other women do not.

Obviously, some people are not comfortable with it and offended.  So IMO it's intentionally and very rude if a woman doesn't cover up and be discreet about it.

Don't give a shit if a woman does it in public.

As long as the child is an appropriate age, I don't care where and when they do it.

Do you like eating your meals with a blanket over your head? Do you like eating your meals in a bathroom?

Breasts are made for feeding children. If you're offended by seeing one, that's on you.

I have no problem with breastfeeding in public, and I think the amount of coverage should be up the mom. That being said, I'd prefer if my wife covered her titties up when feeding in public as I don't want my buddies seeing the goods. But I'd prefer every other woman in the world to not cover up. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

First off, I don't personally care.

But it's a fact some people ARE offended or uncomfortable with it.  And everyone knows this.  Justify it however you want, it's intentionally rude and simply a lack of common courtesy and respect.

People are offended by and uncomfortable with a lot of things they see and hear in public. Who decides what is or isn't respectful? Who decides which things are rude and therefore shouldn't be done?

I don't think a woman feeding her child in public is rude. You do. Which of us gets the final say, and why?

I’m offended by your posts on here. Therefore, it’s intentionally rude for you to post and you should stop

What are your thoughts of a young woman who is breastfeeding all about the town (Kroger, intertubing in a lake, in line at McDonalds and makes it into a selfie or has someone take her pic, then puts it on FB and says “I don’t care if you’re offended”

I say doing for attention and not nourishment

She's probably doing it for attention and nourishment. The baby isn't going to eat if it isn't hungry. I'd probably be impressed by the tubing, otherwise I wouldn't think twice about seeing it in person or on social media. If you're against it, don't give her the attention she wants. Problem solved.

Personally, I don't have an issue with women posting about it. I don't go around commenting on or liking the photos, and I'm not going to post my own in the future. But I understand why they post them, and it's to normalize breastfeeding. It shouldn't be considered rude, disrespectful or scandalous to feed your child in public. That's what boobs are made for. Perhaps if people saw it more frequently, they wouldn't make such a big fucking deal about it.

I was not breastfed.  My wife breast fed both of our children.  Chose to cover up publicly as best as possible.  Sometimes the little one would try to rip the cover off so she wouldnt bother because it was more distracting to the kid trying to eat.

also, once the kid is on breast there isn't much to see as their head is mostly in the way...likely to be more revealing in a bikini

1. It doesn't bother me at all.

2. My wife used a cover.

3. The cover was never covering the baby's face, if you are covering the baby's face you are doing it wrong (many/most baby's don't like to have their eyes covered they like to see the world).

Using a cover to cover your breast doesn't not necessitate the baby's head being covered.

My wife and both of my daughters breastfed their infants, and all three either covered or went into a separate room...it's a matter of modesty and being considerate of others. Period.

Modesty does not equal "offended"

I couldn't care less.  If in the crowd of breastfeeding women there happens to be a few who are hoping for attention while doing it - I will live through that.

If any of those offend you you need to grow up as well

I wasn't breast fed but my wife breast fed both of our kids. She was discreet. It was more out of modesty and being considerate of others. I have no problem with public breastfeeding, just do what you have to do and don't turn it into a big production.
