If any of those offend you you need to grow up as well

I don't think he's saying he's offended by any them. I don't expect you sit down on a park bench and pull your junk out, do you?

First off, I don't personally care.

But it's a fact some people ARE offended or uncomfortable with it.  And everyone knows this.  Justify it however you want, it's intentionally rude and simply a lack of common courtesy and respect.

Sorry, that's a them problem, not a her problem.

Can I masturbate in public?

Is this rhetorical?

I personally don't care at all, but if a private property owner asks you to cover up you either need to do it or leave.

maybe we should grow up and not be offended by penises

maybe we should grow up and not be offended by butts

maybe we should grow up and not be offended by vaginas

Modesty does not equal "offended"

Last I checked, penises, butts and vaginas weren't made for feeding children. If I missed the memo...well, I'm going to keep missing it.

There are pretty tight laws with it apparently.

If that’s how a baby was supposed to eat then sure. But it’s not apples and oranges is it? That’s like me saying oh you don’t like breastfeeding, you must hate anal sex too!

one has nothing to do with the other.

they all have valid biological functions not related to sex, so the same comment about being "offended" by breasts applies. take sex out and a penis and a butt eliminates waste, a vagina expands for the birth of a baby. So since they aren't about sex always we shouldn't be "offended" by kizer's logic.

Once again, I don't care, but those that don't understand why modesty needs to play a role as well and try to act like breasts are only for feeding a baby then those same people should make the same comments about penises and vaginas.

If we take the feminist lingo out of this and realize that yes, breasts are for feeding babies.  However,  they also are part of the sexual experience and nudity as well so modesty should play a role while breastfeeding in public.

Other body parts perform other functions as well other than sex, but we aren't allowed to just completely "whip it out" in public either for modesty reasons.

Again, not my personal objections, just societal facts no matter how much certain segments of society just want to let breasts be free.

Sure, I mainly just wanted to post about sitting on a park bench and pulling your junk out. I see your point, but I also see jmog's. I should be able to pee in public as I don't want to get uromycitisis and die.

I couldn’t ever imagine putting “ my necessity for modesty “above a baby eating lol.  If seeing a boob offends someone because a baby is eating. Then yes, you need to grow up. I’ll stand by that statement as long as I live.

Interesting that nearly 40 posts into the thread, the word "avert" has not been used until now.

So I have to see men's titties every time I leave the house in the summer, but a woman who is feeding her baby should cover up. Got it.

I figured this thread would be a doozy. My wife just stopped bf our baby and if she did have to bf out (not often) she would use a cover up (milk snob maybe?). My opinion is, I don't care what a woman wants to do, I probably wouldn't do it if it were me and wouldn't want my wife to just be out there, but to each their own.

I am sorry that current societal norms are hard for you to understand, but yes society views a man’s chest different than a woman’s chest with current modesty standards.

See, I can be condescending and facetious as well.

Personally  I agree with you, I never want to see a fat dudes tits. However reality is an “in shape” man walking down the street with no shirt on is different than an “in shape” woman doing the same. It’s our current societal norms.

Also, the main reason societal modesty standards are different for a woman’s chest vs a man’s chest is quite obvious to anyone who is not a virgin. A woman’s chest is a normal part of a sexual encounter,a man’s chest is not.

Perhaps the only way to change these norms is to normalize breastfeeding.

Breastfeeding is normalized, it was the only way to feed a baby for hundreds of thousands of years. Only recently (time scale wise) has other forms been invented.

If you want societal norm to change then you have to de-sexualize a breast, to do that you need to change both a woman’s and a man’s biology. Men are wired to like breasts, women actually have more nerve endings on their breast than a man and that is why they like them “used” during sex in various ways.

No more gym shorts or sweatpants in public if women can walk around topless, but it's a tradeoff I'm willing to make.

I do. If it was normal, no one would care if they saw a breast while a woman fed her child.

Nope.  The percentage of men or women that should be topless in public is small.  The amount of men that should not wear tank tops or women that should be allowed to wear yoga pants is also very small.
