Are you happy at your current job?

Not really, but it's tolerable.

It significantly better than my last position, but the location and people just aren't for me. I'm also having a hard time really getting behind the products we're producing/selling.

It's great experience though and I can use it as a stepping stone to something much better, so that's keeping me motivated. I'll start exploring my options when I get closer to the 1 year mark.

Oh the names in this thread! Lol

Starting year 26, 20th coaching XC….I like the school and the kids but I liked it more when this thread was started. I’m not going anywhere though.

Didn't post here before. Not sure I would've been happy in 2017, since it was pretty stressful and I was nearing the end of the honeymoon period of constant travel. I have moved on to a Client Service role. No travel, better pay, WFH (pre covid and still). I can do a ton of stuff from my phone, but the hours can be brutal (24/7 and ALWAYS holidays). But I am generally happy 80% of the time. Really depends on the time of year. Right now, work fucking blows. Every football client is sending in their requests for the 2023 season and wants their shit done and samples sent back tomorrow.

...then you watch a game, and see shit youve been working on for months, if not years, make its way to the eyeballs of millions and its fun to kick back and smoke a cigar lol.

My job can be frustrating at times, but overall I'm very happy where I work.

Ask me in about a year.  Unemployment or changing jobs as you approach 50 comes with a ton of anxiety.

Things could get really good in a year or two, but worst case it's the latter of "up or out".  I probably could find a little contract work, but realistically have to make do with half the income.  Comfortable "mostly mostly retired" but not necessarily the standard or living I'd hoped for.

Started a new job a month ago, so now I’m happy.

I've moved on from the meh job I had when this thread was created.

I've been at my current position/company for almost 4 years, best job I've ever had. Truly awesome people to work with.

But we recently underwent and M&A and I could be shitcanned any day now.

I'm ok with it, severance + a new job will be great. I'm just getting annoyed with the limbo phase. I've basically done nothing the past 5 weeks.

Bump. Anyone sour on their gig?

I've been in my current role about a year now and it's starting to look like I was sold a false bill of goods. Travel requirements were misrepresented.

I hate to start looking again so soon but it isn't what I signed up for.

I just signed an offer 2 weeks ago after searching relentlessly since mid-September.

I'm excited and slightly nervous. I haven't done "meaningful" work since last June. First day is Monday. I'm ready to get after it!

It's remote, but I need to be in a territory, so moving back to Denver. Bittersweet...Mexico fun is over. :/

Well. I work at a hospital, so it has its own category of unique ups and downs.

I guess mostly yes but sometimes no.

Love my job and company. Fanatics, Owens Corning, and Lockheed Martin have all tried to poach me, but I have way too much freedom here to ever leave.

Good enough

Love the good kids and the kids that have good reason to be bad but choose otherwise.

Kids are definitely getting worse though.

this is my life right now. I was told my territory would largely be two states but I am regularly everywhere *except* those two states.

hopefully you don't get screwed like I did

I took a new Job last June and am very happy with it so far.

Half of the management quit at the old place the end half of last year after I left as well, so I think that says a lot for the decision to go.
