Who knows where this leads.  My point is that there are political extremists on both sides.  Most of the people on the right or left are sane and normal.  But on this site, the actions of the extremists on the left are portrayed as representing the intentions of everyone who votes democrat.  In reality, most people do not subscribe to the philosophies of the fringe.  If that were the case, then every republican would be a potential bomb mailer - which I acknowledge is ridiculous.

The problem with today's dialogue is that those at the fringe - however small a percentage - get the attention and focus.  We play into the game by constantly making them the center of things.  It reminds me of Geraldo Rivera's old talk show.  One of his favorite tricks was to bring on these KKK guys.  It would get the audience all fired up (it even cost Geraldo a broken nose once) and make it look like our society faced a terrific threat from a resurging Klan.  In reality, it was a selection of white trash inbreds who couldn't organize an orgy at a whorehouse with a fistful of fifties.

What's annoying and sad is that both sides will now blame the other saying they are going too far without looking in the mirror.

In a few days we will forget about this and move on.

The very thing that makes me hate politics. Most of us who have kids don't accept the "they did it too/first/worse" argument, but we repair to our little red and blue tribes, and judge our actions based on exactly that. Hell, not only will we not admit that some of our "side" behave as badly as the other "side", some of us insist on pretending that the worst of our group doesn't exist (yes, Virginia, there IS a fucking Alt-Left, of course there is).

I am leaning toward a leftist group is doing this so they can blame the right.

Sadly, I would not be at all surprised.  Hopefully we can get to the truth.

It doesn't matter honestly. Whoever it was will be painted by both sides to fit their own agenda.

I was going to make an "in b4 the site R-tards say the left did it so they can blame the right for being violent" post, but said R-tards already have gone there because it's easier for their little brains to conceive of a world where one side is the root of all evils and the other side is nothing but victimized saints only trying to make the country a better place than to live in reality. Our country's discourse is being dominated by idiots on both sides more concerned with playing "team" politics than recognizing that the elites on both sides are rich fuckers taking money from richer fuckers to primarily act in their best interests while fucking over all the people screaming about how their "team" is the best.

Agreed. Our political climate is truly depressing, which is why I try to ignore it as much as possible.

When in doubt, just blame Trump's rhetoric.

Our discourse is like focusing on the exploits of the Westboro Baptist Church, using it as if it were a proxy for a huge swath of the population - 99% of us don't give a shit about the 1% of views expressed on cable news other partisan sources.  I sometimes feel like the joke is on us.  It's like Nascar news stations are playing all day long on every channel - some arguing for left turn only, others pushing for right hand turn only.  In there are a few rednecks who throw molotov cocktails at the trailers the opposing rednecks occupy.  But none of us never seems to say, "Hey, wait a minute, I don't give a shit about Nascar.  Turn that shit off."

Well, he ain't helping.

That said, it is not just him. It is a lot of folks on the far ends. Trump is just the easiest to blame as he is the highest profile leader.

It was tongue in cheek. "Journalists" tried blaming the whole saudi killing the guy dude on Trump's anti media bias. It's laughable at who ends up being blamed for this sort of thing. Trump isn't telling anyone to kill anyone. People are responsible for their own shitty decisions.

And the far ends? Hillary just told people a week ago to not be civil to the other side. There is a lot of rhetoric all over the place. Let's not forget about Ricin being in the mail less than 2 weeks ago.

I imagine it should be pretty easy to find this person. Interesting that they put Shulz name and address as the return address.

Which is hard as fuck if you're online for any amount of time. On FB and here, R-tards are pretty noticeable, while Twitter is loaded with a bunch of libtards -- at least on my feeds for the two social media sites. So it becomes this situation where you either endure the stupidity or shut yourself off from the public completely.

One of the main reason I dropped facebook.

And now twitter is annoying the crap out of me. The GOP certainly has their faults, and there are MANY, but people piling the blame on the GOP as whole, and specific individuals within the GOP, for these suspicious packages is dumb. I hate to agree with CC, but this very easily could be an effort of leftists attempting to drum up support right before the election. I'm not saying it is, but it's certainly happened before. I remember several semi-recent cases of vandalism targeted towards minorities being perpetrated by leftists looking to spark outrage against the right.

I'm keeping an open mind of who it is, but as I said it doesn't matter. Each side will paint that person/s in their own light.

The President did a nice thing today with his statement. It was the right statement...now, let's see if he stays on message tonight at a rally.

This isn't the America that Merrick Garland wanted for us. He's definitely looking down from heaven in sadness.

And whoever the perp actually ends up being, putting Debbie Schultz's name on the return addresses was a pretty good troll.

He seems incapable of taking a win and just moving on. Either on his own or by getting prodded in some way, he'll give back the point he scored by not being able to ever STFU.
