In the end, global communism is coming for us all so I don't think the results of this election will matter much.

How long before AI really does put 2/3 of people out of work?

Granted, every technological disruption has only led to the creation of more jobs, but this time it really does feel different.  It's hard for me to see how AI isn't going to eliminate most professional support jobs in finance, accounting, IT, scheduling, logistics, etc.  And the robots take out most of the manual labor jobs.

I'm not sure if the capitalist model survives in that world.

The Libertarian party is useless when it comes to the Presidential election, but I like Spike Cohen a lot.

Kennedy is likely the best third party option (for actually getting votes) since Perot. And I actually like him a lot as well.

In the end, global communism is coming for us all so I don't think the results of this election will matter much.

Kennedy continues to flirt with voters like me who are not (or no longer) habitual party voters. I just don't like listening to him speak.

He was warned at the beginning that the mainstream media would do everything to minimize and trivialize his campaign, but he didn't think it would happen. That was a hard lesson for him.

You really don't have to wait to decide. I already know who I'm writing in.

Jesus Christ? I'm voting for Pete Zahut myself

This is just my post from the other thread. Yes, I do think Biden is too old to run.

Stephen A. Voice, HOWEVER,

What Trump and his advisors are saying, to me, is far worse.

Trump, just in the last week, is in favor of a national abortion ban, against article 5 in NATO, in favor of mass detention facilities and deportation, and Christian Nationalism. (As in Christian laws tied to the Bible like the Bama IVF law, white Nationalist)

Sorry, that is an immediate no. No, to any of that and I'm sure many of the libertarians on here would be very against that amount of federal power. That is exactly what Trump is saying he and his advisors want to do.

You can try and bury your head in the sand and say oh that is just Trump being Trump, but his advisors will be in power and their rhetoric is absolutely terrible.

His advisors like Stephen Miller, the Project 2025 folks, and his religious advisors are the ones I listen to on what they plan on doing once he is in office.

That to me is far worse than the current situation we have now. That's my rational.

Trump's actions by people that were in office before and what they plan on doing next.

Trump will surround himself with people that only agree with him. He will not appoint the traditional Republicans.

The blueprint is right there in Project 2025.

Isn't that what Presidents do, form administrations comprised of yes men?

I remember taking Obama's rhetoric (before he was elected) and bitching about it on here - coincidentally one of the complaints was that he was aligning himself with proven domestic terrorists. I also remember you telling me that politicians always say they are going to do this that and the other and won't do them.

But once again you choose to have selective memory.  Then you get pissy whenever that is pointed out to you. It's almost like you'll believe and say anything to avoid saying that the Dems' active and ongoing engagement of lawfare, political persecution and checking off the tenets of fascism  is bad and they shouldn't be doing it. It's effectively being blind in one eye.

I'm rather amazed at your ability.

I dunno, when it comes to his court cases, he doesn't seem to hire the traditional attorneys and that isn't really working out so well for him!

To be fair, the NY AG and Mayor just came right out and admitted they specifically targeted Trump and wouldn't prosecute ANYONE else for doing the same thing...once they saw real estate investors talking about backing out of NYC.

It really doesn't matter in the end. The Dems will find some way to jail him. And their voters will fervently jack themselves for at least a month.

This sounds like 2016 election fear porn, and then when Trump took office about 1% of the fear porn propaganda actually came to fruition.   I don't blame dems repackaging this game plan though, because a lot of people buy into it (i.e. ptown), and it worked in 2020.  This is the third election in a row, where the best argument the Dems' campaigns have is they are not the other guy running.  They are batting .500 with this strategy, we will see how the third and (hopefully) final iteration of this strategy will pan out.

Unless you aren't living in reality, which a lot of coastal libs aren't(including the ones who moved out of their blue states taxing them into poverty), I don't know how anyone can make an argument that this country is better off than it was 4 years ago.   Considering Biden's record, Ptown using any type of foreign policy argument against Trump is laughable at best.   So far Trump has been on the money about NATO.  We all know article 5 of NATO is not going away (so does Ptown, but he is purposely being dishonest), but nobody can say Trump was wrong when he said every NATO nation needed to increase their defense spending.  This is pretty much par for the course for the dems foreign policy since 2008.  Their strategy has all aged like fine milk, and their best defense is to deflect from their own neoconservatism to bring up the Republican neoconservatism.

Anyway, I will vote for the Libertarian candidate and hope we have perpetual gridlock.  I would have voted for Desantis if he won the primary. He would have been my first Republican vote since 2012.

Well, you do know that I have plans to rule the world in the most despicable fashion, yes?

Regardless, since you would have hypothetically elected, I will assign you to some important council post. Perhaps Czar of *Wear Purple On Tuesdays Or Else".

In one of the more bizarrely comical things I've seen, Biden lost the delegates in the primary for American Samoa. To some random guy who was described as a "self-proclaimed entrepreneur". By a 51-40 margin in an area containing either 50K people or 50K eligible voters. With said opponent having a platform that seemed to basically be "work for American Samoa".

Gave me flashbacks to when I was young and some comedian-type whose name I can't remember would be on stuff like the Smothers Brothers variety show as a spoof of a presidential candidate.

So what's the over/under on Biden's speech tomorrow?  30 minutes?

Wonder what the contingency plan is if Starbucks runs out of caffeine....

So I just watched a Tim Poole vid where he was watching the hearing of the guy who investigated Biden's handling of top secret/confidential materials. He essentially said that Biden's mental cognition problem was such that he decided not to proceed to charges. Oh, he also admitted that Biden read portions of this material to his ghostwriter.

So is this the Dems exit strategy for Biden? Blame his lack of mental cognition?

Also, does this remind anybody of Comey?

Is there a two tier justice system on display?
