2010 Wayne County Athletic League Football

Is that the same Utley that finished 2nd in state D3-171 to Phillips of Monroeville? Anybody know?
  • THE4RINGZ
    Yes
  • Havin Fun
The biggest reason Waynedale is 0-7 is youth. When you entire backfield is sophmores and you are playing senior heavy teams like Tusky, Triway, Rittman, Hillsdale and in the future NW, Dalton the kids are going to make mistakes and lose thier poise at times. Take three starters out due to breaking rules until week 9 and it is difficult to win. I think I may know who quit but am not sure. If it was the back-up QB, he was also the holder which messes up FG and extra point chances. Don't know why anyone would quit in week 8???
All these things add up to what could be a tough game if the Bears take Chippewa lightly. The Chipps have a lot of seniors who don't want to go 0-10 either.

We scrimmage Minerva and Louisville every year (beat them 21-0 the year they made it to state 2007) We also play Northwest every year. Would say we win 80% of the time. As for the MAC, we played Coldwater once, and beat them, but this is the wcal let's stick to county football bud.

Ringz, that's a good line haha. Pretty impressive numbers.

Um.......scrimmages aren't really a good indicator on performance of a team during the regular season nor do they hold any weight. If you do count scrimmages, we might as well go a lttle further and talk about 7 on 7's. We attended a 7 on 7 at Orrville about 5 years ago and scored more against the Riders than any of the other teams there..........we were never asked back even though we were willing.....just sayin.....

Way/chip game will not be close Waynedale will win big

Very interesting the way the league is playing out this year.

Hope your right zoocrew. The kids need some confidence which could propel them to bring it together for the last two games against NW and Dalton. When they play mistake free ball as they did much of the Norwayne game they can hang with anyone.

Can't decide which game to attend.....NWN/HILL or NOR/DAL....my bleedin' gums tell me the Cats & Dawgs will be a better game...but I also enjoy the undersized scrappy Huskies gang of one defense.

I would really like to see the Falcons get that first title, btw-they will. When that happens, I fear those very few combustable Husky fans which disgust me will make their presence felt...I don't recall who said it and I'm too lazy to go back and look but the Huskie faithful are not the best traveled bunch in the county....that honor goes to Dalton. (IMO)

Time to check out...my wife is making some of that fairy boy, limp wristed, god knows what flavored coffee....and yep..I love that sh--!!....next I'll prolly be watching Bravo.

Go to the Dalton game-between you and the public adress announcer (Hillsdale) gloating over the walkin tacos-it will be too much to stomach. But if you decide to show up-I'll save you a seat, if there are any available-I said it and stand by it!

the Bears travel well , even at 0-7, the fans still support..

I wish that all teams in the WCAL had great fan support. Whether winning or not. These boys put it all on the line every Friday night, I believe that they should receive their fans support. If a team is not winning, it is the result of one of two things. 1) They are losing because of poor coaching decisions or 2) The other team is executing better. Never do I believe that it is because the players don't give 100%. So whether your team is winning or losing, go watch and support them in their play. I can't think of anything better than FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL!!!! Good luck WCAL.

LOL.... He's no longer announcing. The announcer we have now is very professional. I couldn't agree more with fan support, those boys give it all. Anyone who has ever played the game knows the amount of work and sacrifice it takes just to get physically ready for the game. If you have a huge
crowd behind the team cheering, it gives them that extra "rush" they need.

Amen my Brother, and may the football gods look upon you with favor. Oh yes, and may they bless your next "Chili, Chips and Cheese".

Northwestern QB posible seperated shoulder, backup Mckean possible MCL sprain/tear, Forbes OT/DE MCL knee. All questionable for Friday. Bad thing also is that is 3 of their starting 5 for basketball. Miyagi hopes all turn out and can play. Very important game for Huskies and it would be nice to have these players on the field. How would you like to be the basketball coach and see 3 of your starters all go down in 1 game ? possible that senior Hershey / WR gets the start at QB as he as played that position before. Also have a soph and a freshman qb/ the freshman plays varsity defense, but i cant see putting them in a game like this.
Anybody have a thought on the rash of injuries in the WCAL this year? Is it the same ol kids are faster and stronger theory or just a fluke ?
  • Red Rum
Sounds like the tall order just got a little taller for the Huskies.

On the discussion of teams that have strong traveling fanbases, my Huskies are johnny come latelys, the former big 3(Dalton,Waynedale & Smithville) have consistently brought big crowds for decades. I love your spirit Leaguechamps but I don't think we have achieved a big traveling crowd reputation yet, we are getting there though. Keep up the SPIRIT!!! and leave the curbstomping to Bloody turdbrush.

When the true Huskies roll (like you champs), you roll with class.

UNDERDOGS on FRIDAY, WONDERDOGS on SATURDAY....Go Huskies!

"10"...thanks buddy....if I didn't know better I'd say you are starting to like me. Tell you what..I'll buy the Walkin' Tacos if you silence the Talkin' Flacos....that way we can all enjoy the game.

Mr Miyagi (san of a.....you know) Why are you over on the Orrville dojo tryin' to get me in fights with those church boy crybabies like tattletroll BRF. You are an evil little man. May your next batch of eggrolls taste like that overpriced spew they serve at Medinas concession stand......

    ...and speaking of concession stands
a friend of mine tells me the 50-50 winner at Northwestern home games is almost always one of the concession stand volunteers. I hope he's pullin' my chain....cause if that is true...it ain't right.

pretty bold accusation TURDBRUSH!! I never win but I also think it unlikely the drawing is rigged. However, I'm not saying its totally out of the realm of possibility. Any other opinions from Huskyland or anywhere else for that matter?

I've been thinking a little more about the MVP award and there doesn't appear to be a Colby Busson in the league this year so I'm inclined to think whoever wins the league should also have one of their own get MVP. Right now, thats 4 teams with a chance, next week it should be 2. Heres my latest whittled down list of candidates in order

    1. Badertscher-Hillsdale, only a junior but I think he's Hillsdales biggest impact SKILL player. No offense to Moore & Fulk. Bummer for lineman Whitcomb.

    2. Gavin Hackett-Dalton, He may win it on his career achievements alone. His senior season may not have been his best, but he was the biggest problem for opponents and seemed to stay a bit healthier than Blevins & Lint.

    3. Adam Wallace-Norwayne, Sr.(I think) should edge out Tyler Zimmerly for the accolade should a Bobcat be fortunate enough to get the award.

    4. Casey Neer-Northwestern, When Neer doesn't play it really shows. IMO-the undisputed MVP of the Huskies. NWN probably needs to get a piece of the title for him to win league MVP.
  • leaguechampsin10
Couldnt comment on the 50/50 cause I dont play so I wont ever win!

Wallace is a stud and a only a Junior! Take him out of the Bobcat line up-their toast!

Dont know about the Hillsdale boys to comment-but I know if they lose to either the Huskies (I hope) or Norwayne -neither of them will get a mention.

I agree totally with the thoughts on Hackett-same situation as with Wallace, as Hackett plays -so go the Bulldogs

On to my beloved Huskies and Casey Neer- He's the fastest kid in the league hash to hash (pure football speed) not to mention his power. Dont want to blame a loss on his absence in the Norwayne game but we are not the same squad with him out of the line-up; on both sides of the ball. If we would have used the Thunder and Lightning (Neer and Bejchek?) approach last year in the backfield- we might have done better than .500. Keep in mind this kid is a three year starter at middle linebacker and led the league in tackles last year. He gets my vote because I'm bias (but right).

I'll cast my vote for Casey Neer.
  • Havin Fun
This will be a tough pick. Hillsdale has many kids who could be considered. If they win out I like picking thier best player at years end. Neer and Wallace are other considerations because they add so much to their teams. Take either one out of the game and the team would struggle to win. I like some of the Dalton kids but there is just something missing in each that would keep me from saying they are MVP's.
