If Dover keeps him in the pocket then he might be in trouble. I think I was more impressed by Steuby's receivers! They did make some nice receptions!
4.7- 40 lol! You must've watched a tape of when he played for the Mingo cheifs!

Hey Dover fans what will be your excuse after Friday!

    Go Dover!!!!!!

Dover is not going to be able to line up and run the ball. We heard this same stuff last week about Toothman. They ended up with 2 yards rushing and Toothman had negative yards. The Big Red front 7 will be to fast for Dover.

    Dover huddlers,
When I read this thread and how Steubenville fans are talking and reading you guys defend yourselves it brings back all the posts that you guys throw at us prior to a NP v Dover matchup.
Their posts are not unlike yours but for some reason when it comes to us not getting any respect it is OK cause we haven't earned it which is true. However Dover needs to earn it too and if anything I would think you would understand where these posters are coming from and why they are being so confident and or arrogant as you would call it. They've earned it. Respect that and do your talking on the field. Next year when it comes time for you guys to throw all this trash talking our way I hope you remember this thread and how it feels to be disrespected. They don't think you can compete. I believe you can but I also thought we could compete with you this year, that didn't happen. Good Luck cause you guys are going to need it.

Steuby fans. Dover is not Salem.

    Go Dover

This friday you will see big red at its finest

I think Dover will be a tough game for the Red. The backups don't get playing time in this one, i think the score will be too close.

Big Red will be the best team Dover has played all year, no question about it. Macon will easily be the best individual player the Tornadoes have seen. We have not seen this much team speed and ability yet this year. On the flip side, Dover will not be the best team Big Red has played against, probably not even close. Woody High, Massillon, Inkster are all bigger, faster and stronger than Dover is as a whole.

That being said, I believe this years Dover team is probably better prepared for the talent they will see from Big Red with their contests against Canton South, Canfield, Ashland, Tri-Valley, Coshocton and Phila. And to have a championship type season, I feel you need to play above your ability at least once, and the great programs do it more often. (see Big Red with wins over Woody High and Massillon) Dover did it last year in a win at Avon Lake. It will be interesting to see if we can play with and beat a team like Big Red in the playoffs. I know these seniors at Dover are a special group and hopefully they can put out a performance that will be needed to move on to week 14.

I am not a Dover fan. Just a fan that hopes they knock you guys off. That's all, however I am realistic and know it will be a tough task but as they say anything can happen on a Friday night under the lights.

    just_a_swimmer,

I wanted to say how nice of a stadium you guys have at New Philly. The only knock that I would have is the visitors side seating. Is there any plans in the future to add about 10 or so more rows?

Probably not. It took everything they had to improve what they did. Money is tight. You never know though there are many alumni out there that have money and like to donate to the school.

As an unimformed "outsider" of this game (more Dover than Steuby), tell me about Dover's special teams!

What games did you see Dover and Steubenville play ?
What did you think Dovers strong points were...and where do you think they are weak ?

I have not seen Steubenville play and wondered what you thought since you must not be a fan of either team

Big Red wins this one. Sorry Dover, can't wait to see you go down though. What do you think you're going to do to Big Red's defense? You won't run the ball I promise you that. You say Dover isn't Salem and you're right, but I'll tell you this much--Trent Toothman can run on anybody and he couldn't run on Big Red. And if you want to tell me he's overrated then talk to your A.D.--I'm sure Salem would come play Dover next year.

I'll call Big Red 35, Dover 14. Good luck, everybody stay healthy, unforunately for whoever wins though--you're going to get run over by the Mooney train. Nobody is beating them--I'm not sure there is another team in the state, regardless of division, that could beat Hubbard 55-0. I'm not sure how many teams there are that could shut them out.

And if Macon runs a 4.7 40, then Usain Bolt runs a 4.5.

Dover has two really good guys kicking the ball. Their place kicker is very accurate and their punter kept them out of trouble against NW. He had a 52 yd punt I do believe and averaged over 40 for the game. As for the kicking coverage not sure how that went. Dover fans could probably answer that better. I know for them Maz had a return that kept them in the game and he put them in great field position a couple of times off of kicks.

    Good luck Dover!

Big Red is not Northwest but I am glad Dover faced their quarterback because he has about the same speed and elusiveness as macon. He won't run around for 30 yard losses but they also won't be spread out all game.
  • CenterBHSFan
    Swimmer, thanks!

    SQ Crazies,

It wasn't all that long ago when everybody was saying that Mooney couldn't be beaten, that they would steamroll any team. And they did!

Until they met lil ole Coldwater.

    Upsets DO happen!!!
    Believe!!!

SQ Crazies its good to see you on a different forum!
Although I don't agree with your assumption of Mooney!
Mooney's style of football plays right into the hands of Big Red or even Dover for that matter!
Hubbard had the worse run D I've seen all year!
BR and Dover have two of the best I've seen!
  • 4cards
...best of luck to both teams this week on an injury free game. I'm thinking this one may be tight due to a couple of stingy defenses giving it their best. Good Luck Dover, Good Luck Steubenville.

Was Zach Colleros the best Steubenville QB ever? and with him you beat Dover 33-30. I am not saying Dover wins, but Dover does deserve your respect. Macon might be fast but he isnt Colleros and this defense for Dover is much better than 06. I am afraid NEITHER team wants a piece of Mooney!! or DeSales for that matter. GO DOVER!!
