Yeah they're being pretty tough on you guys. Lol.chiefy jones;1860365 wrote:I think we've made the big time fellas, they're talking about us over on the politics forum. Now....They're not saying very nice things but hey....They're talking about us.
One of the guys who is being critical of us, spent a lot of time on this very forum arguing and calling names simply because we didn't agree with him.
Another is a mod....Lol, who occasionally comes over here and starts crap and another is a guy who I'm not familiar with but admits that he follows people on Twitter....Lol....Who follows others on Twitter?
Where has isadork been? I kinda miss the little spelling champion. Lol. -
chiefy jonesI think his English teacher from HS saw some of isadork posts, grabbed him by the ear and led him to a remedial reading/writing/English class.
-
chiefy jonesOh, I know they're being pretty tough on us, it's what we OC legends do....We bust each others balls for fun.

According to OHSAA website, 1972 Warren Western Reserve won 1972 state title in AAA. I can't find Massillon anywhere except for the 3 times they made it to the finals and lost ('80, '82, '05)Al Bundy;1859889 wrote:1972. We are planning a big celebration for the 45th anniversary.
So, the same question applies, when was the last time Massillon won a state title on the field? -

Here is our 1972 championship, right from the OHSAA website http://ohsaa.org/Portals/0/Sports/Records/FBAllTimeAPPollChampions.pdfjmog;1860492 wrote:According to OHSAA website, 1972 Warren Western Reserve won 1972 state title in AAA. chiefy jonesYou'll have to excuse Weird Al, he's a little touched.
Our last Championship was in 1970.
Btw, how hard is it to do research? I hate to break it to you jmog....Football did not start in 1972. -

Why don't you celebrate the 1972 title? We were AP champs in both 1970 and 1972. They either both count or neither counts.chiefy jones;1860508 wrote:You'll have to excuse Weird Al, he's a little touched.

chiefy jonesWell....Because starting in 72 they decided to use a different method for determining champions.
Sometimes I think you just play stupid. I mean....Don't get me wrong, you're really good at it. -

So you are saying AP poll championships don't count?chiefy jones;1860535 wrote:Well....Because starting in 72 they decided to use a different method for determining champions.

No, football did not start in 1972, however, as soon as the championships were won on the field magically Massillon didn't win any. Makes most people outside of the Massillon kool aid drinkers think that most of their "championships" before 72 were about as realistically accurate as those that deny the Holocaust.
Why is it that the great Massillon all the sudden hasn't won a state title in 40+ years? Because a simple vote doesn't hand out the trophy anymore. -
Al Bundy
Either AP titles count or they don't. You seem to be one of those people who want to reinvent football in 1972.chiefy jones;1860549 wrote:Your reading skills are similar to isadorks writing skills. -
chiefy jonesThey counted before 72 they stopped counting in 72. Pretty simple really.
Over/under on how many more times I'll have to explain this to Weird Al is 7.
I'm betting over. -

You've managed to reach different levels of ignorance with this post. I'll deal with it later.jmog;1860555 wrote:No, football did not start in 1972, however, as soon as the championships were won on the field magically Massillon didn't win any. It's pretty simple to see that you are a flip-flopper on issues. Jmog and I disagree on our positions, but at least we are consistent. You are the John Kerry of hs football, Mr. Flipflopperchiefy jones;1860588 wrote:They counted before 72 they stopped counting in 72. Pretty simple really.

Your confusion on the issue is par for the course. -

I'm not confused at all. You have flip flopped on the issue. No wonder that people on the other Massillon site that we both visit are getting tired of your act and tell you to quit making excuses.chiefy jones;1860647 wrote:As I said....Pretty simple.

jmogMost people would consider Massillon's paper titles legitimate if they even continued that type of run a couple years into the playoff era. If they had won 1 or 2 championships in the early/mid 70s when the playoffs began then non-Massillon fans would look at their 20 whatever AP titles as legitimate.
The problem people have, in general, is the fact that the year the title was won on the field, Massillon disappeared from the state title contention talk...for 40+ years. -
Al Bundy
So our 1970 title doesn't count because we didn't win the tournament in 1973? Do other sports work that way or just high school football?jmog;1860650 wrote:Most people would consider Massillon's paper titles legitimate if they even continued that type of run a couple years into the playoff era. Way to work an atrocity like the Holocaust into a HS football conversation. You're almost as classy as isadork.jmog;1860555 wrote:No, football did not start in 1972, however, as soon as the championships were won on the field magically Massillon didn't win any. Have you ever done any research on the past Tiger teams? Do you know how Massillon was made up in the 40s, 50's, 60's and 70's compared to today? I think before all you geniuses open your mouths and look ignorant you should do a little research.
Let me guess, you're not interested in doing any research but you'll still open your mouth. -

The way we make up our team has changed over the decades. In the early days, we found the best players out there and hooked their parents up with great paying jobs in the mills and factories. Today, we found it is easier to just give them great paying jobs within the school district.chiefy jones;1860668 wrote: Do you know how Massillon was made up in the 40s, 50's, 60's and 70's compared to today? -
