Great write up Soupcity! Loved it. and Very interesting facts. would have never known campbell took a 17 year win streak to Studders!
But anyways. Week 1 will be a test of endurance,Mental state,and continuity! I hope for the best. But being realistic. I won't predict scores of any game. But if we can keep it somewhat close i'll be happy with that. Good luck devil. Hit them hard! -

I see struthers being more disiplined, with a better grasp on both sides of the ball, and Campbell bringing in a new coach. I see it being close for a quarter or 2 but struthers settles down a drums away with it. -

The series returned the following year. The game was not played in 1933, 1941, and from 1994-1997. This hard fought battle has seen its fair share of dominant streaks by both teams. Campbell dominating the series in the 30s, 40s, 50s, and Struthers returning the favor in the 60s and 70s. The early 80s were owned by Struthers and Campbell took hold of the series in the late 80s and early 90s. More recently Struthers has had a decided edge over Campbell taking 8 of the last 10 contests. Coach Ed Rozum returns to the series and takes a 9-6 series record into the game. His teams have scored 310 points against Struthers and have given up 251 to the Wildcats. He looks to rebuild a program that had its worst season in 5 years in 2013. Struthers looks to build on a playoff appearance last year and continue their recent dominance in the series. Campbell's last league title was 2011 and Struthers last took home a crown in 1997. Struthers owns a 3-5 playoff record, and Campbell has played to the tune of 7-8 in the playoffs. Struthers has produced 2 winning seasons in the last 13 years, compared to Campbell's 6. Struthers is currently in a much better position for the future with a good, passionate coach that has the Wildcats believing again. Coach Rozum is at his 4th attempt to resurrect the Devils to shades of past glory.
It kind of stinks that this site is a ghost town. Ever thought about jumping over to Yappy (misspelled on purpose) or JJ's? There's way more people from around the 330 on those sites...

I'm thinking they did play Campbell in 1998, so you're probably right. For some reason, I keep thinking they played Chaney in 1998...
I know Campbell won 17-7 (I think) in 1999, Struthers won 18-0 in 2000 (I have the game ball from that game in my closet), Campbell won 14-12 in 2001, Campbell won in 2002 (not sure of the score... didn't it go into OT?), Campbell won 41-40 in triple OT in 2003 (knocked Struthers out of the playoffs that year), etc...

I used to be one of the more active members of JJ Huddle before they ruined the site with the "pay to post" nonsense. I didn't think they ruined it when they went pay to post... I think they ruined it by making all the unnecessary changes. It really wasn't terribly expensive, if I remember right.
Yappi is the cool place to be these days... -

Does the new/old coach think that smash mouth game he's showed in scrimmages so far work against struthers? I don't think they will be able to just lineup and pound it week one but the schedule definatly lightens

Rozum will and has never as far back as i remember showed any of the playbook with scrimmages. There are ex players on here that will tell you that.
