Rozum and the 2014 Campbell Memorial Red Devils.

Spread it's time to break out your Ursuline gear! Do you wear it out of the house in Struthers or do you wait to put it on at the game?
  • soupcitysoldier
Maybe Spread doesn't root for Ursuline? Maybe he sent his kid to Ursuline so he had no choice but to root for them? Who knows? I cant explain that.

The kid was all state as an 18 year old and couldnt hack it after his parents dumped all kinds of money into lawyers to force ohsaa's hand. Hope thats not true. All the Struthers faithful really backed this kid or should I say adult.
Couldn't be more wrong on this one...

    Get a clue.

The latest projections for the competitive balance proposal have you actually moving up to DIII. Open enrollment is gonna bite you in the ass! Campbell is projected to actually drop down to DVI. What will be your excuse when you still aren't winning conference titles and not sniffing the playoffs? Long road ahead starting in 2016 for your cats.
Haven't been on here in a while but thats wrong. Struthers has no OE anymore. Only pre 8th grade and they have been doing away with that from the last two years or so. Our enrollment is going down.

Struthers was a game out of the playoffs this yera and 2012... and in it at 9-3 in '13. WRONG AGAIN. Campebll is the one who will not sniff the playoffs. Your annual beatdown in 2015 is in Struthers, week 7.
Outside of that JV game week 7, the rest of the schedule sets up nicely. Playoffs in 15 are a real possibility. Go Cats

So Spread is starting early with his 8-2 or 7-3 prediction this year. LOL
  • Devilone
Yes Spread Struthers is most definitely OE. You can check on the Ohio dept of Ed. website.

All you Struthers fans that think Spread all Day is a diehard Wildcat, scroll through that link and see your boy acting like a fool for Ursuline. I refuse to respond to this bandwagon fan anymore.

Dead Thread Spread! Nobody even cares anymore about your predictions. I for one will never give you the satisfaction to come and hijack a forum thread. So as i say this you are a waggon jumper thread hijacking jurk. That brings nothing to the conversation but lies and more lies. every year you post crap about coaches leaving and stupid stuff. So good bye good night good riddance285

My official prediction: Campbell wins state

My official prediction: Ursuline wins state and Spread changes his logo to a little fighting Irishman!!!

Quick info...looks like Memorial will stick in Division 5 the upcoming 2 years. From what I can see we are about 8 boys away from D6 but that wont happen in the next cycle. From my sources male enrollment was low for this senior class and should move up next year with better numbers in the lower classes. On a side note, Mooney and Ursuline also seem destined for D5 (LOL), but I dont know if that will stick the following year with competitive balance kicking in.

I have to imagine it will be another rough year for Campbell. Junior high kids had some talent but they have to hold onto those kids. League is all over the place this year but I couldn't see Campbell getting more than 2 or 3 wins. Newton falls and champion are always possible and liberty seems to be self imploding so you never know. Girard and labrae have alot back from good teams last year. Their ad's didn't do them any favors with that out of conference schedule...it is very difficult!

If Campbell can hold onto their juniors and sophomores for next year we should climb out of this nicely! But agree this year will give way to juniors and sophomores getting plenty of playing time. We need size and athletes to be competitive. It dont matter who coaches this team if we don't have talent! Last year i seen a lot of good things. but it was not consistent. got to get talent and size. But without much to choose from in the school system you can only imagine how this season might end up. But who knows campbell might shock a few teams this year. Stuthers will not be that good this year. Cant wait till i hear the naysayers. They will be another 4 or 5 win team. Girard will be better this year. Labrea might not be as good as you think. we won't win the conference i know that but 5 wins is not unrealistic. And one last thing about Coach Rozum. He will put the best players on the field and we have last years junior varsity that has some very good talent coming up to play. We are going to be hard to beat in the next few years coming.
  • southbender12
I think Girard will be good but don't know who QB will be and they lose some very good seniors so I'm.not so sure they get much better but definitely a playoff caliber team. Labrae has like 8-9 starters back on both sides of the ball with two div 1 kids with big ten offers...they might be the best kept secret in the area. They have steadily improved the last two years, maybe they take the next step. I'm very interested in the liberty stuff and i heard they are set to hire a new coach next week. Liberty will go as Bowden goes...if he leaves then they will be average at best.

Until Labrae beats a team of substance they will be lumped in with champion and newton falls in the eyes of others. If they dont get it done this year with what they have then I dont know if itll ever happen. Girard and Liberty will continue to be looked at as the cream of the crop year in and year out until proven otherwise.

I also agree with this but with a little change. You obviously need to beat good teams to be considered a good team but if you look at the last two years there has been a progression in the right direction after they hit rock bottom in 2012 ( coach bohrens last year). Where I disagree is lumping them with champion and Newton falls. Those programs are the outhouses of our league and labrae is much better than them and Campbell. They have been a step or two behind liberty and Girard which is where I agree with you but they have to be in the top half of that lower tier if you look at it objectively.
  • itzme
I agree that LaBrae is better than Champion, Campbell, and Newton Falls and appear to be headed in the right direction but what I meant by in the eyes of others... when Liberty, Girard, and Lakeview for that matter beat you by about the same amount in the same way as they do the others then you are viewed as being no different than them. Until they get it done vs those teams, they will continue to fly under the radar.

Another down year, which is expected, you can see the Red Devils searching for a new coach. The basketball team is going to be in search of a new coach as well.
