supermanCan anyone stop Marion Local?
Can anyone in Southeast Ohio put up more than 14 on Trimble's Mohawk Mafia? -
Midstate01Cousins go to Covington. Go buccs!

I'd wager that Marion Local could win Div's 7, 6, 5... and perhaps 4.ccrunner609;1526302 wrote:ML got to get by Covington. Their RB Oulette is one of the best backs in the state in any division -

They're definitely the favorite in DVII. I doubt they would beat Kirtland in DVI, Ursuline In DV and their are about 10 teams in DIV that would beat them.ernest_t_bass;1526385 wrote:I'd wager that Marion Local could win Div's 7, 6, 5... and perhaps 4. -

thavoiceMarion Local has some serious injury problems.
Their starter is out until week 12 or 13. He is signed to Pitt.
Their backup QB got hurt early last week. Their 3rd stringer was hurt in a JV game so they are down to their 4th guy...one of their best WR's.
Also, their stellar RB has missed time and got hurt again last week.
Everyone sees what they did to D5 coldwater 2 weeks ago and already has given them their trophies, but with their injuries it is wide open. I am going to say Covington wins it unless they piss down their legs after beating Marion. -

As far as could they beat Kirtland in DVI. Well......I think this Marion team is better than Coldwater's D5 team who beat Kirtland last year. Diff years, diff teams, but about the only link I can think of.Devilone;1526471 wrote:They're definitely the favorite in DVII. MSML with their backup drilled Coldwater who won D5 this year, and who beat Hartley going away on the road this year. With that said, I dont think CW is a legit threat in D5 this year but they still are solid ballclub. -
supermanWow, I knew MSML had injuries but not that many.

Apparently it got ugly last week.superman;1526508 wrote:Wow, I knew MSML had injuries but not that many.
They were losing to Anna late and I just thought it was a tremendous letdown after the thumping of Coldwater, but then ran into someone from Marion who filled me in.
With limited injuries, MSML was a sure of a lock that there is in HS football to win it all. With these injuries and playing Covington (who has been gaining ground on MAC teams) so early in the postseason could pose to be their doom. Not sure when most of them will be back.
in the CW game they outplayed, and outcoached, coldwater, but one thing I was scratching my head about was they left their great RB in when he had missed time, and was obviously hobbing in the second hafl when they were up big. One of the first places of the 3rd qtr the RB was the last to get up by a long shot, and hobbled off the field and figured he would be held out with the lead..but came back and got more carries. -
supermanFor you Region 26 fans, how does Triad stack up with Covington and MSML?
-
adogAlbeit, it was only a scrimmage, but saw Triad in opening week of preseason. They looked pretty damn good in that scrimmage. Ran a spread O VERY effectively. Their lines were big and quick. This scrimmage was against Ada and Triad made Ada look bad. I know scrimmages are not a god barometer, but only thing I can go by

DelphosfanThat Marion Local team with 'serious injury problems' has their QB back and tonight crushed a pretty good Fort Loramie team 63-14.

I went to this game Saturday since I follow a team that is playing Fridays. ML looked VERY good against Ft Loramie. With Bertke back, they worked on their passing game and he was impressive. Does not look like he missed a beat. They will be hard for anyone in D7 to defeat. -
EnforcerGreat win tonight by The Tomcats!!
Shadyside awaits next!! -

EnforcerSuperman, You been able to make any of the playoff games, or planning on attending any of the 2 games left??

supermanI haven't yet. I work Saturday night and Sunday morning. I've been listening to power 105. I will be in Canton in two weeks. I can't make it to St. Clairesville this week.

Good luck against Western Reserve. What type of offense does Trimble run? Western Reserve is big and will pound the ball at you. They can pass but prefer to run the ball.superman;1541859 wrote:Trimble in the Final four -

Spread it out and throw or run the zone read.Zombaypirate;1543098 wrote:Good luck against Western Reserve. What type of offense does Trimble run? Western Reserve is big and will pound the ball at you. They can pass but prefer to run the ball.
They lined up in the wishbone and shoved it down Shadyside's throat. I think the boys were tired of hearing about ss's huge line and their power. -

So they can win by spreading it out AND from the wishbone?superman;1543159 wrote:Spread it out and throw or run the zone read.

Sounds like they are the team to beat in DVII -

They sound pretty tough. They can throw and run the ball. Strange to go from the wishbone to the spread zone read. Maybe MSML will have a challenge this year with Trimble? I will be there.superman;1543159 wrote:Spread it out and throw or run the zone read.

Yes, We can run it or pass it, pretty balanced team at Trimble, Our Defense is pretty good also recording shutouts in 8 of the 13 games We've played , led by Senior LB Jacob Koons, who is very close to having 200 tackles on the yearthavoice;1543449 wrote:So they can win by spreading it out AND from the wishbone?

supermanThey are versatile and tough. Would love to see them get a shot at MSML.

EnforcerI think We will, I think the Cats win by 12, While some of Us Fans are looking forward to the final game I can guarantee the Cats are completely focused on WR this week
