It's just Norwayne turn now these past years. I guess everyone gets there day in the sun, were just going to love it up for as long as we can.
Totally agree and they have every right to do so. Good luck this week!

By the way....Maybe there is something good out there on our new turf. Norwayne has used it several time now for playoff practices and they are still winning. Atleast somebody has benefited from it! Maybe some of your current winning ways will rub off on that turf and Orrville can get back to it as well! Good Luck Norwayne!

It's not like NOBODY is winning that plays on that turf. Every time you play on it, SOMEBODY wins. ;)

The first year was just a trial run so those opponents wins don't count and we are erasing the 2012 season from our books all together. OHSAA approved!;)

    Tailgate Information:
Game starts at 7:30. I will want to be in the stadium no later than 7:00. That means I'd probably want to be set up for the tailgate by 5:30. That gives us an hour and a half to tailgate before I have to start cleaning up, then heading in. (if others help me clean up, we can stay later, clean up quicker, and still get in by 7 or just a tad after).

I'll bring my grill, utensils, plates, napkins, ketchup/mustard/tobasco, & cooler (w/ ice) for sure. Others have mentioned offering to bring burgers and brats for me to cook. Would anyone like to commit to those, or hotdog/hamburger buns, non-alcoholic beverages (a few 12-packs), or condiments such as cheese, onions, etc? Whatever is not claimed I can try to pick up, but obviously the more people that can chip in, the less each of us takes a hit in the wallet. Thanks!

By the way, I'll likely be in my blue Volkswagen, grilling on a fold-out table. There shouldn't be too many of those, so you shouldn't have any trouble finding me. Many may have visited our tailgates last year at the red Ford Ranger, but probably not the case this year.

They ran the ball and threw screens. The offense was not aggressive at all. Norwayne doesn't have the depth to get every starter out of the game - especially playing against another playoff team's starters. Look at the scores by quarter all year - including this game...

**I'm the 1 that pointed out we only had @28 4th qtr points all yr. The announcers ?ing NWs intent was heard by all who watched the broadcast. It brought back bad memories of late game injuries & beat-downs from the past.....and i just don't see a valid point to it. UNLESS, you just can't field a team of back-ups that won't be embarrassing. As for "not aggressive at all"...Bull. They were throws to the same WO starters. Even threw a deep completion to Kneriam.....late. Maybe it's the system that's flawed. I like that 34 states have the mercy rule that if a team is down by 35 at the half, the clock runs continuously the 2nd half except for scores, time outs, & injuries. 34 of 50 states. Are they all wrong ? Just thank God we didn't get any starters badly hurt in the 4th qtr of this blowout. Liberty was hitting hard as hell! Or would that have just been.....bad luck?

I know you pointed out the 4th quarter points, that's why I'm surprised that Ytown area announcers influenced you and changed your mind. They played the second half with a large lead the same way all year. Norwayne's offense can be explosive, but by their standards and history it was not aggressive in the second half - I stick by that. The 4th (and 3rd) quarter points all year substantiate that. They have a right to go for first downs and keep the ball - the passing touchdown was a short pass where Knieriem ran by the defense.

You can't fault Norwayne for the Ohio rules - they would have loved a running clock. Liberty's starters were hitting hard in the 4th - subjecting smaller players with less experienced blocking to those hits might have been ugly.

If oldcatQB's Norwayne teams of old were getting beatin that badly, back in his day, maybe they should have tried a newcatQB. Maybe they wouldv'e been better and all of his buddy's could have gotten sick of sitting half of every game. Maybe newcatQB couldv'e been disappointed because he rarely got to throw a pass in the second half of any regular season game. Maybe oldcatQB can move to one of those 34 states with the mercy rule and feel all warm and fuzzy when the clock runs continously when someones taking a whoopin.....Is this guy serious. We're in the Elite 8. This is OHIO football. We're not counting plays on the sideline of a peewee game. WOW!!!

AMEN, plus the fact he writes his posts like a 12 year old girl texting.

Very few coaches run up the score just to humiliate. When it does happen it is ussually a payback from a previous buttwhoopin. I watched the Norwayne re play and don't think the coach did a thing wrong. this is the playoffs and each coach is trying to manage his team toward one more friday and should not, and most will not worry bout some disgruntled parent or the feelings of the opposing teams fans. If a team is beat, they should take out their starters and then the team winning should follow suit. Why should the team winning put their younger, smaller guys out against the other teams starters. Then the losing team tries to get scores and make the game appear closer.

well deserved on both sides as will be shown tomorrow night

Good luck to the Warriors! Bring a W to the area, the kids deserve it. "only the kids"

Almost game time. It's been fun chatting this week. Good luck to both teams, and Go Norwayne!

I was talking to someone last night on the phone who told me in week 11, one of Norwayne's good, big defensive linemen got hurt and missed last week's game against Liberty, but will be back this week for Brookfield. If true, that could help them a lot as they face a very good, versatile rushing attack. My friend was not a Norwayne person, but he knows several players personally and always seems to know what he's talking about. So take it for what it's worth.
  • WCALfootballfan
That lineman's been back for the last 2 weeks. One of the backups is still hurt though.

It appears that several of the Brookfield players have been busy tweeting garbage today. Kudos to the Cats for not retaliating. There have been several retweets by them however. Use it as fuel boys. Do Wayne county proud!!

Can you tell me any if the Brookfield players account names because I couldn't find anything.
