Legendary Coach Ousted at Smithville

  • womthang
I wouldnt think so either but I've never seen any of their contracts so I dont know for sure. I dont know whether he gets separate compensation as a coach now that he's not teaching anymore either, maybe a deferred or a partial or something that has some sort of contingency clause. Mr Schrock is a smart guy so I cant imagine him signing it unless they had a big hammer to swing his way.
  • THE4RINGZ
But what does he get paid to be only a football coach $10-12K per year? Can't see that changing his pension too much.
  • Dr. KnOiTaLL
I doubt a high school coach makes that much, Ringz... even a 35 year coach. Does anyone have any meaningful info about the meeting?
  • womthang
$10-$12k isn't tons of money but if you have established a certain lifestyle, it's a lot to do without all of a sudden. Like I said, he's a smart guy, he's been in the school system and seen a lot of changes, not only in the district but in teacher's contracts, etc. I'm sure he knew whether any threats they made, financial or otherwise, were enforceable. I'm just waiting to see if anyone says whether he's been vindicated. He was my hs chem teacher and I hate to see all of this happen to him. He definitely deserves better from the district he has dedicated his career to.

Hs football coaches do make a stipend of 8-15k a season....depends on size of school and success.

The video is currently uploading to youtube. Should be done around 6 am.

The board had to feel ashamed of themselves after hearing the speakers talk.

I'm hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst next month........might as well start getting Occupy Sam's organized.

OK Thanks for the video man. I'll check it in the AM. If anything does happen and you need some alum to show up, I'm still in touch with many of my classmates and we'd be glad to support the cause for Mr Schrock. I gotta go watch the end of the game. I'm about to move to the finals in my FF league.

By the Green Local Contract, Head football coach with 10 or more years experiance got $7,015.26 for 2011. When they say it's not about the money, it is not.

Just an FYI: the woman who spoke at the BOE meeting, Pat Henshaw, is Coach Schrock's cousin.;)

Is what she said true or untrue? Who she is doesn't really validate or invalidate anything (per the fallacy of ad hominem argument).

80% of the green local school district is related.

Kinda like Brent and Frank are related. I hope that rumor isn't true.

My mom was assistant treasurer at Smithville. My cousin just married a Douglass. My sister is dating a guy whose sister is married to a Indermuhle who are related to the Sayres.

    Shit runs deep around here.

Cannot believe Brent or his brother had a part in any of this. They respect Schrock, care about football and this community!

I cover 23 counties in Ohio, and that is one of the most bizarre places I stop for fuel, food, or restroom.

Never go into that restroom. I'm told Miyagi lies in wait there with ice cubes, a tube sock and lots of KY.

Well duh! Of course they are related...and running the smoke and mirrors so B dont apply at Wooster! Or mix it up a little...Harbour comes to Smithville and B gets his coveted Norwayne job....(more coaching moves later...if I have another bottle of wine chilled)
