Have you been drinking tonight?
It's OK if you have. -

I don't think anyone got your point then. Pretty sure everyone here saw it as another year where parents write large checks praying the boys can cash them and fans shooting off at the mouth as they live vicariously through high school kids.dontcare;1234900 wrote:Someone missed the point....again, it just isn't your day, must be getting old.... -
BobcatI thought that would get everyone stirred up but I actually meant it. Who in the WCAL is gonna be able to cover Harris. He's 6'3 or 6'4: and very fast. I understand he's been very dedicated to the weight room and is getting a bunch of big college looks. Legitimately...who can cover him in the WCAL? I'm trying to start serious football talk. I dont think anyone in the WCAL can cover him. How do you stop him?
As far as Norwayne at Ashland yesterday I understand they were missing 3 starters and pulled out of todays 7 on 7 because of it. They are not deep and can not afford any long term injuries. My understanding is that none of the injuries are serious but Coach Harbour wanted to rest to get ready for the start of 2 adays next week. -
THE4RINGZYou don't cover Harris, you pressure and knock down the qb before he can deliver the ball. You disrupt the pattern by jamming him at the line with one or two db's giving your rush time to get to the qb.
-
BobcatNorwayne return 4 linemen...3 of which are over 245 lbs. The other will be a 3 year starter. They have 1 hole on the line. If you cant get pressure on the QB, can anyone stop Harris?

I'll bet you would make a great coach.....:thumbup:THE4RINGZ;1234919 wrote:You don't cover Harris, you pressure and knock down the qb before he can deliver the ball. You disrupt the pattern by jamming him at the line with one or two db's giving your rush time to get to the qb. -

Wow, you should seek some anger management.........Jmar25;1234917 wrote:I don't think anyone got your point then. It actually is a decent question who can cover him, tall fast recievers in the WCAL can really be an asset....especially with a "new" qb. Hillsdale had some good success the last few years with some tall wide outs. Size and speed always helps. I bet there are some free safties out there that love seeing those tall WR coming over the middle and if that ball hangs any.....ouch. Just sayinBobcat;1234918 wrote:I thought that would get everyone stirred up but I actually meant it. Who in the WCAL is gonna be able to cover Harris. He's 6'3 or 6'4: and very fast. was_that_itHope them boys pulled out of the 7 on 7 are alright. Hate seeing injuries pre-season.

footballnutAlot of people think that Harris isnt even the best WR on his team. The word is that he doesn't like contact very much. Rough him up and he's lookin for a way out. All I know is that he didnt do anything against us last year in the playoffs. I dont think he even had a catch in that game. He was only a sophomore though. He's definitely an outstanding athlete
-
Red RumWhile there is no doubt Harris is an MVP candidate and an amazing athlete, he's 1/11 of an offensive unit (and a WR, not a QB/ILB) My guess is no one in the WCAL can cover him man to man. That being said, it is no guarantee of success. The Cats have a big target on their chests this year. Teams are going to bring their A game against them, complete with defensive wrinkles designed to make life difficult for all of Norwaynes wideouts.
The question is, once the passing game has been neutralized, does any WCAL team have the ability to stop the Bobcat ground game?
It's a long season and alot of things can happen. Norwayne didn't win the title outright last year with Wallace. I'm not ready to think they're going to run over the league this year without him.
and Norwayne defending the state title is a real stretch....especially if you don't have a freight train QB that can tuck and run over defenders on broken plays then step up and play run stopping linebacker.
I think the Cats will be good but the loss of Wallace won't be felt until the real season gets underway.
reps to dont care for stirrin' it up early! -
footballnutActually I think it was Bobcat who threw out the Harris thing. I watched the Cats a few times last year and I personally think Berger is a much better receiver....alot tougher. No matter who you chose, it's gonna be tough to cover both. Is there anyone in the league as good as Berger or Harris? Norwayne may have the best 2 receivers in the league.

THE4RINGZdontcare is feeling the confidence promised in those Extenze ads. Congrats Brah, glad that is working for you. Keep taking the pills, I hope everything else they promise is working out for you. However, don't cover yourself with blood and jump in the shark tank.
I agree with my NWN alum redrum, one reciever doesn't make an offense, and Norwayne can no longer sneak up on teams. The system in Creston isn't that unpredictable and without Wallace there is a drop off. Wallace had the X Factor ( sorry to use that term), but replacing his ability to take over a game is not something just anyone can do regardless of the system.
Sorry to rain on the Bobcat love fest, but facts are facts, and time will prove one of us right. I'll accept your kind words with grace and dignity later this fall. -

I was just pointing out a fact. It is at every school and has been since the dawn of time, but since the big 3 have been down the last couple years (When was the last time Dal/Smi/Way all were down at the same time? Sorry Smithies.... last year was an ok year for your standards) the arrogance and trash talk has reached a new high. (Please correct me if I'm wrong.) Glad a WCAL team finally won a title, but I am still having trouble finding the reason for this.... Heck... Some of you guys make the Orrville crowd look calm and god only knows how many DI kids they've produced compared to Norwayne.dontcare;1234937 wrote:Wow, you should seek some anger management.........
Lastly I'm not sure how you came to the conclusion I need anger management. In no way was that an aggressive/angry statement. Heck... there wasn't a word in caps even. I thought that was the international sign of anger in the interwebs?!?! -
