Totally agree. While I don't have a lot of experience watching the younger kids yet, I've heard they're pretty good. And from what I've seen, they're deep. So it might take a while for them to get as good as the current players, but it sounds like we'll have some depth at a number of positions, something we haven't had in a while. Either way, I'm excited for this year's team! I'm sure they want to prove a few people wrong, and make a turnaround from last season.

Let's talk about the key to Northwestern becoming the 2012 WCAL champions.

In order to do so, they must keep Nolletti heathly at all costs, that means no defense, no special teams, no nothing other than playing on offense. I know they are a small school and a lot of players play both ways, BUT you cannot afford to take the risk of injuring the face of the franchise on some open field tackle or other non offensive play.

I am not saying he is "soft" the injury last year at the Triway/Wooster scrimmage was a fluke incident, but don't risk it Coach Thut. Any drop off you might see if he doesn't play on D he will make up for on O.

I am your Commisoner and I approved this message.
  • Mr Miyagi
He is starting on D this year. Some will say he is actually better on Def than Off.

    quite true....

the guys you mentioned above have seen the whole spectrum from the playoffs in 2010 to last seasons train wreck. Anything can happen.

I still think this year is more of a building block for the future than anything else. West Holmes and Orrville out of the gate is going to be brutal. Throw in the backyard rivalry with Waynedale and the Titans are looking at a rugged non conference schedule. I'm not really much of a PAC guy but visiting Manchester will be tough sledding and home games with CVCA & Tuslaw will be very challenging as well.

I just don't see more than 4 wins this year. I have however, heard alot of positive things about future classes at Triway. That's why I think 2013 will be brighter than 2012

And don't forget the spellcheck, Mr. Commish! ;-)

I see that now, more of a multi-tasking error than spelling error on my part. I will now go into the corner and spell "Commish" correctly 100 times.

All caught up on the reading again and now it's time to post.

Dr. Know.....reps for a preseason pull of old riders chain. I always enjoy a little venom courtesy of the folks from Serpentini field. I still think the Riders will end up in the postseason though.

Pitman.....lighten up. That truck looked like it was full of joints...no reason to go all puritan on me.
    Ringz....a herpes comment!!!........I'm telling Pitman:laugh:

Red Rum....You were actually entertaining before you started this whole nice guy act. Sadly, you've jumped the shark. Maybe you and Pitman should spend Friday nights helping old ladies across the street and organizing fundraisers to save obscure animals in Madagascar.

Otrap.....I used to think you were a bit of a nancy boy. I apologize. Now you're running around and mixing it up everywhere with anyone. Bravo Sir!

Miyagi....get the purse off your shoulder and post something interesting. You're heading down the Red Rum road. I will not attend games with you guys if you both turn into a couple of limpwristed, milk drinking, anti all nighter, afraid to go to the strip club wussies.

Beast....pretty quiet of late. What's up? please don't tell me you're also now a Streisand loving, puppy kissing friend of the do-gooders. I hear that's what happens when you lay by the pool drinking low carb beer and eating finger foods.

GoFalcons.....M.I.A?. I haven't read about any tractor accidents in the paper, so I'm guessing you're still alive.

BRF....congrats!, I've noticed marked improvement in Red Rums use of to, too & two. I think all the hard work is paying off.

OQB......married & working all the time. Geez, now you have no time to talk football on the net with the old guys. You will be missed.

Luckydog......another M.I.A. Wherever dog is, I'm sure he's ripping somebody a new one.

madman.......looking forward to hearing about Rittmans female dog slapping of the Cleveland home school team.

demoralizer....after Norwaynes championship, I'm guessing he blew a gasket and is resting comfortably numb in an institution somewhere.

Mr Russell.....odds in Vegas are 3 to 1 he gets banned from Smithie field this year.

Bobcat.....congrats on the title last year

1486, dh22 & Dalton mom (can't remember your screen name)....this year is going to be better....Dalton will beat Northwestern.

    don't care..... nice post.....some folks are steaming!

    was that.....welcome back

Syd.....where's syd.....this thread is in need of a husky fan who's not in the nancy boy club

old smithie.....looking forward to the 6 AM updates this year

riders1 & old rider.....the wcal posters are weak. trolling opportunities abound

jmar.....Waynedale guy living in Ashland county? can't figure you out. I do enjoy your opinionated posts.....nice to see some spine around here. God knows the nancy boy club (aka team miyagi) doesn't have any

    I probably forgot a few people...sorry.
    see ya next week.

    ........
I am here...just getting caught up on all the chatter in here. I think the key to Northwestern this year is TEAM. They have not had it over the last couple of years. The parents are the worst of the groups over here. How such and such class is gonna lead them to the state title or so and so is the best player on the team and we have to protect them, etc. I think they have a great group of seniors that can lead this team but EVERYONE has to be all hands on deck. So far, all I hear is talk about the QB and RB. There are some seriously talented boys on this team that are getting left out of the talks and it is giving some of the parents the big head. Did anyone else know there is a kid on this team with 3 DivII offers already? If you did, good for you. If you did not, you might be part of the "club" mentioned above and afraid to open your eyes.

Lastly, the coaches have to let their boys be a team. They are the most influential people on the field and from what I have seen and personally heard them say at times, they are doing nothing to help these boys work as a team and continue to seek out their favorites during the scrims and practices so far. I suspect another flailing season with bad blood between classes and turn the cheek coaches.

I hope I am wrong and probably get flamed by some of the regulars on here but it is my opinion. I hope I have to eat crow and will gladly do so if proven wrong. Go Huskies!
  • THE4RINGZ
I don't think parents wanting to run the team is unique to Northwestern. Happens everywhere. Coaches need to coach and not listen to the critics. As Jerry Glanville once said, "if you start listening to the fans, soon you'll be sitting with them."

Got feedback from the Kent passing camp today for NW...defense looked good, offense was horrible. More details to come. Not even sure who they played
  • Mr Miyagi
Is the D2 offers to a DB?
  • Red Rum
I'm not hammering anyone for having an opinion.
    Naturally, I hope you're wrong.

I get what you're saying about all the talk being Smith & Nolletti. That's mostly because they're in the high profile spots.

Your comment about parents is frightening and completely believable. My feelings about the "in crowd" at Husky stadium are well documented. I fully expect to be threatened with a few "curb stompings" for my opinions this year.

I'm glad you posted with an opinion that wasn't glossed over. I've been saying all along the Huskies could win the league or could finish 6th.

Keep the real posts coming and throw out some other names for recognition.

p.s--don't believe the wretched swill Bloody posts on here. He's a jaundiced, bloated & bitter example of how to murder a liver before age 50. He'll be dead soon and the only one that will miss him is Anheiser Busch.

Triway was there... I think it was Triway, Kent Roosevelt, and Northwestern.

Yeah, they established that precedent last year, right?

If they had to settle for a 3-way tie last year (thanks to a final-minutes comeback victory they almost lost to Hillsdale), then I don't see how they're going to run away with the league this year.

Make no mistake: They're my favorite. I just don't think they'll skate through the conference this year, as they certainly didn't last year.

My thoughts exactly. Couldn't have said it better. If Norwayne's players drink dontcare's koolaide, Bobcats won't be stalking.
