    It is Timken. I was flabergasted the DR picked them 8-1. They LOST to East Canton (which should tell you something) and beat Waterloo, I think.

    Harris will be out 2 - 4 weeks with shoulder injury. But not to worry we have a 6'5" junior to take his place.

Daily Record do you know a star player for this team went down to an injury in the second quarter last night and was taken to the Hospital. Daily Record how long will he be unable to play and what happen to his shoulder? Daily Record you really do have a team like this they are the NORWAYNE BOBCATS and they play on Friday nights! I had to hunt the sports page to find the write up below and the hunt was not worth it!

    quarter. The Bobcats, who actually
    only held the ball for 16:24
    in the game, used their spread
    attack to pile up 247 yards
    passing, which neutralized the
    Roughriders’ 145-92 edge in
    rushing.
    Joe Dreher led Norwayne by
    tossing three TD passes as he
    finished 13-of-21 through the
    air for 247 yards. He hooked
    up with Mitch Knieriem twice,
    once from 24 and the other
    from 7 yards, before going deep
    to Brady Berger for a 67-yard
    bomb. Knierierm finished with
    three catches for 54 yards and
    Berger hauled in seven passes
    for 162 yards.
    The Bobcats were just as
    effective scoring defensively as
    Kaleb Harris took a pick-6 in
    from 46 yards out. From there
    on out, it was all on ground as
    the locals rode Jon Zimmerly
    for a pair of late scoring plays
    as he powered in from 1 and
    53 yards. He finished with 110
    stripes on 16 tries to pace Norwayne.

    I'm pretty sure it wasn't a featured article because the Daily Record expected the Bobcats to win, and win big ... which they did.

    Blowouts are never "good games," and thus, they never draw a lot of interest. I haven't seen the Daily Record online today, but I'm willing to bet the games that took center stage were the Hillsdale game and the Northwestern game.

    If I'm wrong, meh. It would have made the most sense for those two games to be featured. They were exciting.

    Behind those ones, Smithville and/or Dalton would have been good as the teams gained their first wins.

    Norwayne's game was probably the most predictable, and it played out like everyone thought it would. Don't take it as an offense. If anything, it means that everyone knows just how good Norwayne is ... and that nobody was surprised to see them run away with a win last night.

    Boo Hoo... Sound like Orrville fans now... "WHAAAA!!! Wooster gets all the coverage and they suck!!! WAAAA!!!" You're right... I'm sure the coaching staff and players want an even bigger target on their back than what they already have... Lets just dedicate the entire first two pages to the Norwayne game....

    I don't think anyone is arguing this part. We've all joked about the Daily Record at least once. I recall them spelling "Chippewa" with three 'p' letters in it ("Chipppewa") in the TITLE back about ten years ago. However, their lack of a big article to recap a game most of us pretty much predicted was not a mistake.

    I personally would like to thank the daily record for the excellent coverage of our area sports team. The coverage of the Cats last year was outstanding and it's definitely not a big deal that there was not a big article about last nights game. I spent the day with Kaleb and my son today. He is doing fine. He has a seperated shoulder and will be out for 4 to 6 weeks. He sees a specialist next week. It will be a big loss for us but we will push on. Thanks for everyones concern

    Locol live sports.com is working out good for Norwayne football, Norwayne football can be heard around the World now live and archived so all you so called smart guys who think you would be a good sports broadcaster get in touch with Locol Live Sports.com so your school can be broadcast also. The gold is to have all schools in this area football & basketball broadcast. I would do it but I have a new trade killing bed bugs.

    I can tell you it's a big deal. I just got a call from a man who said the DR was sold out in Creston by 8AM so he bought a paper at the fair and can't find the write up on Norwayne. So I explained to him where the very small artical was located.

    if you guys actually think the DR coverage is not good, you just dont get out much. I get all around the state for work and read lots of newspapers and trust me, the DR is better than just about all of them. (and no, I don't know anyone who works there personally - I'm just telling you what I see.

    Glad to hear he will be alright. That just provides an opportunity for someone else to step up and show what he can do!

    I tend to agree. You will be hard pressed to find an area newspaper that puts as much effort into their high school sports section than The Daily Record. It may not always be perfect, but they produce a lot of entertaining and in depth articles throughout the entire school year. Hopefully, they will continue to be recognized for their excellent coverage.

    YEA Yea ok, There was 32 teams in the playoff last year and only one left standing! Where was Bishop Hartley.

    Creston sold 15 copies of the Daily Record! Stop the presses, that is big news!!! I agree with most of the other posters, the DR does a very good job of covering local sports!
