was_that_itGood stuff pit! Enjoy reading your predictions.
Walt Disney, I didn't forget about Switzer, I try to not be too much of a homer. He definately would be on my O-line if I were picking WCAL lineman. Honestly tho when I typed the previous post, I was thinking.......I must be getting spoiled as Hillsdale's O-line this year has not impressed me. That's why I didn't mention him. Thinking back I should have. On D, he did have that huge run down on that screen against Manchester. Not sure he is one of the "best" D-lineman in the leauge tho. No disrespect to him intended. Offensive line will need to step up tonight in my opinion. Also that sucks about "our" rock.

Old DawgWell, looks like the dawgs are on their way to win number 1, leading Timken 30-0 with 3 minutes left in the game!
-
O-TrapSmithies are looking the same way, up 42-7 on Fairless (or so I was told).
-
thePITmanHillsdale lost a heartbreaker, missed a PAT, it sounded like, to lose to Loudonville, 29-28, after scoring a TD with 40 seconds left.
Loudonville 29
Hillsdale 28
Northwestern and Mogadore went back and forth all game, the Huskies ultimately losing to Mogadore, 26-20.
Mogadore 26
Northwestern 20
Triway 24
Waynedale 0
Norwayne 41
Western Reserve 13
Dalton 30
Timken 0 -
O-TrapSmithville routed Fairless 42-21 (14 of Fairless' points came against the 2/3s in the 4th quarter).
-
thePITmanI heard Fairless kept their star players in late to try to rack up some stats when it was well out of reach.
-
BRFI think I did really really bad on my picks.

Timken fell on their sword quite a bit between fumbles and penalties, still the Dawgs looked better in a lot of places. It's good momentum for meeting the Falcons on the Hill next week.Old Dawg;1264228 wrote:Well, looks like the dawgs are on their way to win number 1, leading Timken 30-0 with 3 minutes left in the game! -

was_that_itHillsdale with a tough outcome. Left alot of plays on the field. Credit to Loudonville, I haven't seen Hillsdale out-hit like that in quite a while. Good game, tough pill to swallow with it ending like that. Lots of computer points on the line in this one, tough deal.
-
thePITmanTonight's Waynedale/Triway game was definitely a sluggish one. Neither team ever got into any kind of rhythm. Waynedale has some tough, fast backs out of the backfield that made some big 20+ yard runs, but they stalled every time. Just absolutely no consistency for the Golden Bears. In fact, as I type this, I hear the CPI replay commentating after Waynedale botches an option pitch and has to punt. Just a very fast game, lots of runs by both teams, and not very exciting. (Except for the 24 Triway points)

sydflRough one over in Husky land tonight....a couple of missed opportunities and we would have talking about the Husky win. Should have won that one and it slipped away. Did not score in second half, when ti was 20-12 Huskies. Had it 2 times ready to strike, one fumble by QB and a pick late that sealed it. Did not rotate RBs all game and I think Smith was just tired. You could see it.
-
BobcatCats in a beatdown. It wasn't as close as the score
-
1_beastIm truly baffled at the number of touches B Stanley is getting?????? Weaver to WR, B Stanley to QB...R Stanley and Strasbaugh in the backfield with Lester getting more touches. Lester has hands and is a quick kid.
Turnovers and dropped balls....change is good sometimes.

oldsmithiesome well played games last night! Norwayne stand alone as the only undefeated team left in the WCAL. The Dawgs and Smithies pick up their first win of of the season! Now the fun really begins as we open league play this Friday! Just for my own benefit, I went 8-2 in my picks this week! and stand at 22-9.
-
1486wdtimken was not very good (i would like to know who they beat), but still, dalton continues to improve. Last weeks game could have gone either way, so the bulldogs have some positive momentum going forward. They are starting to get some plays out of their tall recievers which they need to utilize.
-
Go FalconsI have never questioned the game plan of this Hillsdale coaching staff like I question last nights. I do not want to take away from what the Redbird team did last night, they did not give up, they played with a lot of intensity and Weber is a beast! They were dominate on both sides pf the line. But with that being said we gave away the victory in Loudonville. Up 14-0 in the first quarter we let them take the momentum at the end of the half.
Prior to the game the one weakness that everyone thought Loudonville had was over the middle pass D. On the first play from scrimmage we showed that with 6 points. During the rest of the game we showed it three or four more times, and for big yards, but instead of using that we tried to run behind a line that could get no traction. After the game many Loudonville fans asked me the same question that I have "why did you not pass".
I can live with the fake punt on the re-due that led to Loudonville tying up the game, you make it you look smart. Although I think we showed a little to much concern on the chain placement which might have given it away a little. I can live with the call to go for 1 instead of two at the end, our kicking is good, take it to overtime. I can not believe we are that concerned about our pass block, or anything else that would keep us from going down field to our receivers that had up to a foot and a half and a lot of speed on the coverage.
Lets regroup and come out swinging against the Pound Puppies! -

oldsmithieNon league games are over and the WCAL has not fared so well!! 9-15.

855prideSmithies played solid last night against a fairless team who just seemed like they didnt mesh. the first half pass rush for the green was frusterating him not giving him a place to step up in the pocket. smithvilles pass coverage was solid.....for the most part. on o, they could do whatever they want. bates was good through the air and buss was solid once again running the ball. if i remember correctly it was second quarter, about mid field on a forth and inches. the green wedged for the first and buss went untouched for 60 yard td. it was a promising preformance heading into league play. whats the status on harris? is there an injury?
