I can believe this. Harding Stadium turf looks like a piece of crap. Wearing terrible. I hope they have a good warranty because it hasn't been that long since it was installed.sonofsam;967440 wrote:To my understanding, Furda's injury was not the result of a hit. It was the result of aging turf that had rips in it and landing straight legged in one of those rips where a cleat can get caught. -
swooshWhat would you say if I told you that Andrew Connor would be replaced by Coach Dunleavy..... It would be interesting....
-
MANAZEI've been wanting to see Coach D for years as the head coach, however now would not be the time to replace Connor.
-
swooshLook at his records and stats at his current football job. And also look at his basketball career....

They have bids out and are getting new turf. It's odd how no other player got hurt because of the turf. Did IC even have turf shoes?holdingout;967611 wrote:I can believe this. Would be nice if he can get your program turned around. The area needs more regular playoff teams.IchsCreekPRIDE;968246 wrote:What would you say if I told you that Andrew Connor would be replaced by Coach Dunleavy..... It would be interesting.... -

Program turned around???? Isn't that what Coach Connor has done these past years? Weeding out the kids that just want to show up and letter in football and keeping the ones that truly want to work hard and play hard. After going 2-8 in 2008, goes 6-4 and finishes 9th in the region by 1/100th of a point, goes 6-4 last year, then 8-2 this year with a playoff appearance. The 2 teams we lost to in the regular season had a combined record of 19-1. I'd say he's got it going in the right direction.garweft;969761 wrote:Would be nice if he can get your program turned around. The area needs more regular playoff teams. -
garweftAgain..... 39-34 with one playoff appearance in 8 years playing teams like Bellaire, Weir, and Edison. He lucky nutted into a year with a top 10 receiver talent in the state and a guy who can get it down field to him. Those kids making the playoffs had nothing to do with him being a good coach. Indian Creek deserves better, I'm surprised some of you have a hard time seeing it.
-
swooshWho do you guys think will be the starting QB next year? I'm saying Justin Cummings.
-
swooshAnd then who do you have for your top 2 RB's? I say Logan Wood and Merik Ludewig.... Blake Roar could be a nice 3rd down-back.
-
swooshI just don't like his play calling sometimes. Pass more often.... Coach D is an amazing coach. More experience is good. Look at Jr.High's records.
-
MANAZEI agree. During the playoff game we might still of had a chance had he seen the onside kick coming and then getting the delay of game. I'm not saying they would have won but it might have made a difference had they not got the ball back right after scoring.
-
passwordI guarantee that if you replace Connors with Dunlevy you would have respect all across the valley. Coach Dunlevy is a one of the best coaches in the valley and would have Creek in contention every year.

You lost by 55 points. Do you really think one single play would have made any difference?MANAZE;971948 wrote:I agree. Coach D has never been a Varsity Head Football coach right? There is a huge step from Jr Hi to Varsity.IchsCreekPRIDE;970487 wrote:I just don't like his play calling sometimes. Pass more often.... Coach D is an amazing coach. More experience is good. Look at Jr.High's records. -
swooshTrust me, he has it. Our current AD and Varsity Basketball HC can get it done. There's just this thing that he has with his players that no other team can stop.
-
swooshSpecial teams needs help indeed. Giving em the ball plus muffing it 2 times. Not good
-
swooshOh ya, i heard that mooney beat big red.

So you want Coach D to be head coach of 2 Varsity sports?...Never happen. Never.IchsCreekPRIDE;972195 wrote:Trust me, he has it. Our current AD and Varsity Basketball HC can get it done. There's just this thing that he has with his players that no other team can stop. -

Dude...d.woods50fan.;967451 wrote:The injury was a result of Furda trying to hit pierro on the side line whle he was out of bounds. Pierro just braces himself and he and Furda hit. If you think im lieing just watch the film again. SOS you still make me laugh. Its funny how you blame the "aging turf" but in '09 I believe it was IC that changed a game friday game with Martins Ferry because of "weather" til saturday which just happen to be the same night a certain team played Massillon . Didn't want to mess that turf up ... Oh wait thats right you still have that good old ageless grass:laugh: ....
I wasnt BLAMING Big Red or putting them down in my post... Your turf IS aging and if I am not mistaken is being replaced this year... The injury was cause by a combination or landing wrong and bad turf. It could have happened to anyone and is unfortunate. Harding stadium is a very nice stadium and as needed, you guys are addressing the turf replacement. Nobody is griping that you cheated us with the turf so get a grip. I wish Mr. Furda a speedy recovery... He is a very good young man and played his heart out for IC.
No doubt we will miss them. Last year everyone said we would be down in the dumps after losing Adam Young and Niko Otto... We are not rebuilding, we are reloading. We will be fine and much stronger at many positions.d.woods50fan.;967452 wrote:BTW lossing Kemp and Furda will hurt that team next year. Kemp had great command of the team on the field.
Not to be rude, but honestly I would say your an idi*t if you say that. BTW, Coach D spells it Dunlevy not "leavy." Coach D is one of the best basketball coaches in the valley, if not voted best among his peers. He also does an excellent job as A.D. On top of that he does a LOT for the football team, but TRUST me... Coach Connor is THE man for the job. I used to be one of the "Connor Haters" and since getting to know the coach and his ideas, dedication, hard work, and respect he gets from the kids and his fellow coaches, I was impressed. We are STILL a young school that has had 4 coaches since 1993. Realize that sometimes it takes a while to build a program... When I say that, I mean it takes time to establish your work ethic, your staff, and your cohesiveness with your players, staff, and school. We are getting there... The right people are where they need to be. Did you know that Coach Connor east eastern district co-coach of the year? Ask him how he got that honor... I bet he tells you that its because of his staff and players and never mentions himself. Creek is headed in the right direction, look for another great season of Creek football in 2012. We will be seeing Big Red week 12.IchsCreekPRIDE;968246 wrote:What would you say if I told you that Andrew Connor would be replaced by Coach Dunleavy..... It would be interesting.... -

Sorry, I just do not deal well with people who can't see whats really going on. I used to be one of them and decided to get more involved so I could look for myself. I felt like a jack@ss once I got a good look at things...IchsCreekPRIDE;984552 wrote:Geez SOS lol. -

FairwoodKingI know I'm going to get hammered for what I'm about to say, but I'll take my chances. I'm just voicing what a lot of other people are thinking.
Creek is not a good team and will not be next year. It took them 15 years to scrape together enough wins over poor teams to edge into the playoffs this year. They only played two good teams during the regular season and got clobbered both times. The playoff game was a disgrace. Reno has been coach at Big Red for 29 years, and this is the first time his team has scored 68 points against anybody. And even as it was, the score could have been much higher. I don't know how many times Reno told his players to take a knee in the fourth quarter, including one time when we were on the Creek 11-yard line and were ready to score. The score could easily have surpassed 80. Creek was not a playoff caliber team and never should have been in the playoffs in the first place.
Since I want to end this with something positive to say, I must state that I admire the enthusiasm and optimism of the Creek fans. At least the team has the fans behind them. -

First of all, we deserved to get to the playoffs. We made it because we out did any other team looking to get that last seed. We were one of the best teams we ever had in our history since the Wintersville-Mingo merger. We were actually one of the better teams in the Ohio Valley this year. We also beat a excellent team in Martins Ferry at home. So not only are you disrespecting our school that we are loyal to, but also insulting the Buckeye 8 conference. Each year, the Buckeye 8 is something to watch. And I say for 2012, Creek will once again shine and I think they may actually surpass 2011's team. And I can also say overall, Creek out-dos Steubenville (football, basketball, academics, band, baseball, etc.). Now get out of here if trying to start havoc. Go to your threads to say that crap. Creek will get you for this one.
