The *UNOFFICIAL* Massillon 2012 Thread

  • rmolin73
skank I wish we could be on Massillon's schedule in place of Maumee. But our AD would have to grow a pair first:mad:
  • skank
Me too, I wish our AD would stop scheduling those smaller schools, obviously with the exception of schools like Steubenville. And definately quit with the Canadian bacon and the D.C. teams. Our Coach is now our AD, and hasn't even been on the job for very long, and the schedule is starting to look better. The thing is, is that when you play a contender, from not only your division, but especially your region, the winner not only gets the points, but it keeps the other team you are contending with from getting points too.
  • rmolin73
Our AD needs to definately step his game up he needs to drop one of the Toledo Public Schools off of the schedule.

Ok...then let's talk about the future and the Dover/Massillon series.
  • J-Dover
So are you shooting for another 6-4 year and finishing 12th in the region? Or are you going to raise the bar in 2012? If you catch all the DII and DIII teams in a down year 7-4 wouldn't be bad. Maybe even come as close as 9th in the region. Still on the outside looking in come week 11, but who knows maybe PBTS will draw a playoff game before week 15. We all can only hope......

GO T-I-G-E-R-S get that 7-4 record in 2012....

Then skank gets blasted when he says things? I believe a troll point would suffice this post. Seeing how its been a month since the last post on this thread.

No, its not okay. Im sick of it. And something will be done about it.
  • skank
Well, now that you mention it, if you make a post like that, after almost a month of inactivity, that is pretty much trolling.
  • skank
Heck, even I haven't done that.
  • skank
Well, since I'm here. Rumor has it that Thom McDanials has coordinated his last offense in Massillon. Badre Bardawil is rumored to be the next OC in Massillon.

They return 6 regular starters on offense, and 6 regular starters on defense, both kickers, a punter and all three quarterbacks. I expect the offense will remain about the same, (multiple), running everything from the I formation, to the spread, and about everything in between. Thom McDanials play calling was somewhat vanilla in '11, mainly due to some inexperienced skill players. It never helps when you lose two kids like Olack and Smith (graduation), DeVonte Oliver, 6'3" 280lb starting LT, (adopted them moved), and Mykal Mayle, starting gaurd, (ineligibility). Massillons defense really improved from '10 to '11, becoming more agressive, using different stunts and blitzing from everywhere on the field, (something they didn't do under the watch of Steve Kovacs, our previous D coordinator). Replacing both DE's and a DT will be high on Hall and Durbins list.

    Massillons tentative 2012 schedule

    H Lexington
    A GlenOak
A Maumee (talks with Valdosta are in the works)
    A Massillon Perry
    Open
    H Akron Firestone
    H Austintown Fitch
    open
    H Marion Harding
    H Canton McKinley

On another website it's being reported that Coach Hall and Reno are talking about the Steubenville game being moved to week 8 or week 5.

Returnees who saw significant playing time in 2011 (Heights and weights from 2011)

    #3 Ernie Baez 5'5" 140 WR/DB
    #7 Kyle Kempt 6'5" 200 QB
    #10 Brody Tonn 6'0" 170 CB/WR/QB/Ath.

    #41 Eric Copeland 5'11" 195 FB/LB
    #44 Kentrell Taylor 6'0" 240 LB/RB
    #54 Emmanual Brantley 6'0" 235 G/DL
    #72 Chase Lash 6'4" 300 OT
    #99 Anthony McCarthy 6'0" 140 K

    Others who will contribute

    #4 Marcus Whitfield 6'0" 160 WR/DB
    #6 Zach Volzer 6'0" 170 LB/WR
    #12 Reed Fichter 5'8" 145 WR/DB
    #13 D. J. Brown 6'0" 160 QB
    #14 Alex Dailey 5'11" 165 DB/WR
    #16 Donte Wilson 5'11" 225 RB/LB
    #26 Damion Smith 6'1" 160 DB/RB/WR/Ath.
    #34 Devon Ingram 5'10" 185 RB/LB
    #36 Leslie Dudley 6'1" 185 TE/DE
    #39 Jason Boykins 5'10" 185 RB/LB
    #52 Joe Hallett 6'2" 245 OL/DL
    #56 Devyn Nolan 6'0" 230 OL/DL
    #71 Tanner Yoder 6'3" 280 OL/DL
    #81 Matt Steiner 5'8" 135 DB/WR/Ath.
    #86 Beau Huffman 6'2" 180 WR/Ath.

A Very talented freshman class that I truly believe will produce some contributors for next year.

    #4 Danny Robinson LB/RB
    #5 Malek Jackson DB/Ath.
    #19 Jeff Crabtree RB
    #21 Mike Smith RB/CB/Ath.
    #30 John Henry Bronczek LB/RB
    #50 Devin Williams OL/DL
    #51 Mason Hackenbracht OL
    #77 Nick Bushman OL/DL
    #84 Everett Edwards TE/WR
    #85 Blake Manson LB

Massillon returns all of their production at the QB position from 2011 in Kempt, Tonn and Brown. 110 of 194 for 1467 yards 17 TD's and 5 Int's. But more important than returning those numbers, is the fact that the QB's really took care of the ball last year, made good decisions, and produced despite the fact that everyone around them/him was very inexperienced.

Massillon also returns 203 of 262 carries, 1,108 of 1,479 rushing yards and 15 of 20 rushing TD's

The recieving core, for the second year in a row, graduates their top two recievers, but does return what I believe will be better overall athletes in '12, they will return 42 catches, 360 yards & 4 TD's. Leading the way in terms of returnees, is Ernie Baez, but expect to see, Tonn, Conley, Tisevich, Rambo, Whitfield, Dailey, Damion Smith, Dudley, and Huffman all in the mix to be starting recievers.

Defensively, Massillon will return 141 solo tackles, 156 assisted tackles, 7 sacks, 26 tackles for loss, 8 interceptions and 7 fumble recoveries.
I dont see Warren Harding on schedule. I thought that game was every year . When was it last not played?

I honestly dont understand the animosity between Dover people and Massillon . Massillon kicked the crap out of Big Red for years and years and it hurts really bad to lose to them like in2010 ,but we respect the heck out of them for sure .It is becoming a healthy rivalry which i hope stands .

    lmao ... coyotes

Badre is the head coach at Claymont and has only been there two seasons. I would be surprised if he left there after being 8-2 in his 2nd year.

Idk, just rumors up here, there may be nothing to it. Rumored too that Payne is out at Lexington, hopefully opening the door for Studer to return to Massillon.
